Whatever the reason for America's disinterest in the tube, "Cabin Fever" still fared a little bit better than last week's Jack-centric episode. It pulled in 11.28 million viewers, putting it right on par with "Meet Kevin Johnson." I'm sure the two-hour finale will experience a major surge in a few weeks.
"The Beginning of the End" -- 16.07 million
"Confirmed Dead" -- 15.06 million
"The Economist" -- 13.62 million
"Eggtown" -- 13.53 million
"The Constant" -- 12.9 million
"The Other Woman" -- 13.0 million
"Ji Yeon" -- 11.87 million
"Meet Kevin Johnson" -- 11.28 million
"The Shape of Things to Come" -- 12.4 million
"Something Nice Back Home" -- 11.14 million
"Cabin Fever" -- 11.28 million

"Did millions of people discover the joys of reading during the writers' strike and lose all desire to watch television?"
Personally I would consider this an excellent outcome of the writers' strike! I think the lower ratings are an indication that a lot people found better things to do with their time than to watch TV. That's a positive in my book!

Been said a billion times, I'm sure, but the ratings will continue to drop across the board for good and bad shows alike. TV is now just one of many ways to watch LOST, which we all know. I myself am dependent on iTunes downloads. TV ratings will never recover, and that's okay by me. Eventually TV and internet will marry into some hybrid technology (like Apple TV already is, from my understanding of it), so it's just part of things growing and changing.

Everyone I know watches lost on DVR, so I suspect that has something to do with it. DVR is hurting live television, for sure. Can't say that's a bad thing, though.

I love this show. It is the only thing that I watch on tv. Everyone involved with putting this show together gets a high 5 from me. It is a clean show and it makes you think. I know I will miss it when it is over. Maybe, they can come up with something else in the future... We have a group of 7-8 people at work on love to discuss it. When you have to wait to watch it dvr, or whatever you have, then you can't sit with the group..

I dont know about anyone else but we in chicago are just now coming out of a loooong winter. It almost feels like spring. So, Im not watching as much t.v. I actually missed this weeks episode, but...I recorded it! I bet thats where the numbers are. People are enjoying some form of daylight and warmth. They catch up when it rains. Thank god for digital recorders!

That is exactly it. People are DVR'ing it and replaying it at another time that is more suitable for them. Not only that but abc.com also has the episodes to watch for free. So people are not concerned with tuning in when it first airs. Ratings are just going to continue to drop. Plus I am one that hates to watch lost when it first airs, I like to DVR it and watch it later so I can fast forward thru all the commercials. I also think there are people out there that are probably doing that for the whole season, then when the season is over they will watch all the episodes in row, this way stuff stays fresh in your memory and it is easier to follow. But lost is still an awesome show and can't wait for the season finale.
