Lost Easter Eggs
It's a good day for fans who were bemoaning the fact that Lost would only have 13, instead of 16, episodes this year.  TV Guide's Michael Ausiello has announced that a fourteenth episode has been added to the show's fourth season.

Lost's season finale was originally supposed to air on May 22 at 10pm, following the conclusions of Ugly Betty and Grey's Anatomy.  However, now that the extra hour has been added, Lost won't be airing at all on May 22. The series will air its 12th episode on May 15, and will then come back with a mind-blowing two-hour finale on Thursday, May 29 at 9pm.  The 10pm slot on May 22 will instead be filled by an additional hour of Grey's Anatomy.

"We are very excited and grateful to [ABC president] Steve McPherson for working out the scheduling difficulties to allow us to make the second part of our finale two hours," says Lost executive producer Carlton Cuse. "Damon [Lindelof] and I were working on the script and we just couldn't get it all done in one hour without shortchanging the story.  Now the finale will have all the sweep and emotional completeness we wanted it to have — along with, of course, answering who's in the coffin."

Like many Lost fans, I'm extremely excited that the season gets to wrap up with a two-hour extravaganza.  I don't know if the episodes can possibly be better than last year's "Through the Looking Glass" two-parter, but I can't wait to find out.

Seriously??!!! One more episode? I'm 62 years old and love the show, but by the time they get it back on the air I may have full-blown Alzheimers! Of course, then I can start watching all the shows over again, can't I...and enjoy them like I did the FIRST time? Yeah! THAT'S the ticket!

Um...
Jason. How about you start a new thread on a theories message board? I mean you don't see people posting marinade recipes or quilting square designs on here do you? Your questions would probably be better answered on a theory site (such as Lostpedia or ABC.com or even in the forum here)Your queries had nothing to do with an additional episode of LOST. Hence this post.
Oh yeah and thanks for all the yelling in caps. It truly shows your enthusiasm!

Noob much?

See ya in another life brotha...(but hopefully not)

Jason, the question of why Naomi had the photo, and why she acted surprised that the 815ers were alive (considering that their bodies had been discovered in the wreckage), are two of the big questions of the season, but not ones that have been talked about much. She clearly knew about Penny and Desmond, and didn't hesitate to talk about the plane wreckage.

On the other hand, the other four freighter people who visited the island treated this information very differently than Naomi did. Frank even spoke with Michael about it while they were en route to the island. So they expected possible survivors on the island, even though the plane had been found, and when Naomi arrived he was surprised. But she had a photo of Desmond and Penny.

To bring your off-topic questions back around to the subject at hand, let's hope these last episodes clear this up. The fact that there are so many crazy loose strings in this season may be contributing to this added episode.

Will someone please tell Jason's mother to limit hit caffeine intake for the day... thankyou

Hi, Jason, the word "know" means that your mind has or is getting knowledge that you understand. You keep mixing it up with the word "no" which is a negative answer. Sorry. Just incase people got confused from his paragraphs

yo, jason, teh actual reason why naomi has the picture is because it is charles widmores boat, father of penny, and he probably knew desmond was there somehow, he is a rich man, and the rest of the crew doesnt know because if you recall it was naomi who was in charge of getting the team together so she was probably the only one who was told about it, and its a show so she happened to land on an island and see him first

and claire was swimming and got caught in a rip tide and she said that in the episode, and miss hawkins might actually have been seen on the island, she does look eerily similar to the lady that was with ben when jack was being held in the hydra

THANKS TO MARK , natasha & ED Holden... u others just moan haha

OK, I think I'm slow. Wasn't it supposed to be 5 episodes anyway? Minus three tha was supposed to make it 8 episodes in total. April 24th...... May 1st.... May 8th... May 15th..... May 29th.... Are they counting the season finale as two episodes? They didn't do that in previous seasons. Except on Season 3 dvd they made the finale a two parter for whatever annoying reason.

I love the extra hour. But isn't that still 5 episodes?

Funniest thread yet!!!

ivan, yeah it basically is. What was going to happen originally was there was going to be 3 new episodes and than a 2 hour finale but they were gonna break the finale into two one hour parts over two weeks, therefore having 5 hours or "episodes".

This was the old schedule:

April 24 - 10-11 - Episode 9
May 1 -10-11 - Episode 10
May 8 - 10-11 - Episode 11
May 15 - 10-11 - Episode 12 (Finale Part 1)
May 22 - 10-11 - Episode 13 (Finale Part 2)

What they've done now is add another hour to the second part of the finale, so now we have a 3 hour finale (kinda like the season 1 finale, "Exodus"), except that grey's anatomy has a finale on may 22 at 9 and going from 10-12 would be too late, so there not gonna air on may 22 and instead they'll wait another week to may 29 where there's no scheduling conflicts and they can conclude the second part of the 3 hour finale from 9-11.

Like this:

April 24 - 10-11 - Episode 9
May 1 - 10-11 - Episode 10
May 8 - 10-11 - Episode 11
May 15 - 10-11 - Episode 12 (Finale Part 1)
May 29 - 9-10 - Episode 13+14 (2 hour Finale Part 2)

I like it because it doesn't break the tradition of the 2 hour finale, and of course the more Lost the better. : )

Ah! It's all cleared up now. Thanks, you-know-who, for you-know-what.

Sorry, couldn't help myself. :P

does that mean an episode of season 5 will be taken out and put into season 4 finale or is it just an additional episode to lost fullstop. hope it is if your all up form finding hidden clues within all 8 episodes so far ( much better than the easter eggs on this website ) then go on youtube and search for smolesiuk under the channels bit NOT VIDEOS you'll find out some cool stuff plus it is a weekly thing he does so when the shows back on air keep checking that youtube user and engage in some serious theories etc etc check it out right now.

No, i believe that the 2 hour finale on May 29th counts just as the 13th episode. The last two seasons will have 35 episodes in total.

thanks Tom its better if its that way

http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2008/04/14/ntm.garbage.island.cnn

Takes a week to get out to the island. Returning to LA following a PAcific yacht race. A boat owned by Charles More? Sounds an aweful lot like Charles Widmore to me. Mysterious island that pulls trash to it? Damn, Lost is coming true!!

since this has turned into random topics, can someone please answer why damon said isobel was dead. he said this in the season 3 dvd bonus features. he mentioned dead others and she was one. maybe it was just a mistake, but i dont know. i'm kinda hoping shes not dead considering over a dozen others have been killed.

i'm glad there are 5 episodes left (6 hours). its a smart decision to move the 2hr finale a week later so it can all air at once like the previous finales.

also i'm still holding on to the theory that Rousseau is Annie.

Geez, I forgot what the topic was! Why does more than half of these topics have nothing to do with the information that was given?

I can't believe how much I've forgotten since Lost has been on. Alot of what you guys are talking about is really foggy. I hope ABC does a nice, meaty recap before the episode.
