I've known about this for around a week and got the okay this afternoon to share the info: The Lost Season 4 Premiere will be shown at "Sunset on the Beach" the first Saturday in February on Oahu. I'm told that Sunset on the Beach is typically out of season during this time, but tradition is calling and Lost fans lucky enough to be in Hawaii will be able to catch the season 4 premiere on the big screen outdoors.
In the past the entire cast has attended, and unless I'm mistaken has even performed a tune or two. All Tailsection readers who plan to attend should drop me a line or leave a comment here and enter your real email address and we'll try to arrange some sort of meet.
Last year, Lost premiered season 3 about 4 days ahead of the air date. There is still no clear air date for season 4, and no pattern between the 3 Sunset events to logically assume when it will be returning.
UPDATE: Just a little background on the info. I was not given the okay by "Lost's creators" to announce this as has been previously printed by my friends at Lostpedia. I was aware of the date through some casual contact with the Lost folks and asked Lost's publicity masters if the date had been announced. They replied that it was not anything they usually "announce" through the media, so it was okay to go ahead and talk about it. Sorry to say, I still don't qualify for "earth shattering announcements."

Thanks for the update Doc!
Typically this event has not been officially announced to the public until only a week before the event, so this will be helpful to fans planning their schedules and travel plans around Sunset on the Beach, especially since our guesses revolved around the broadcast premiere date, and whether the cast would still be in town.
As always, you're the best.

Is this a 'get-in-line-wait-all-night-and-all-day' kinda thing or are there tickets or something? I'd like to go too. Please send more info when you can. Thanx!

I live in Hawaii and went to last years premier. Definately get there as early as you can! I got there 4 hours ahead of time and barely got a spot. But the bragging rights are worth fighting the crowds.

I am planning on going, but I want to know more before I make the trip and spend money on flights/hotel. Where exactly does it take place, and whate time? Do u have to pay to get in? Is it for sure going to be on Feb 2nd? So far this site is about the only info I have found about it. Please let me know of any news. Anyone who's going feel free to contact me too.

I don't know much either, but I do know they are planning it on Feb. 2nd (unless something comes up). It will be at the sunset on the beach (waikiki beach). It's free. I'm not sure what time though.

Now that the premiere is set for Jan. 31st, is it fair to assume that the sunset on the beach event is going to be earlier than that, since traditionally the event happens before the season premiere?

I would love to go too. When is it? Is it the 26? or the 4th of Feb? I would love to hang out with other people who Love Lost as much as I do, especially in Hawaii. I have never been there. Did someone say Waikiki Beach?

I live in Hawaii but I think the Feb. 2 date can't possibly be correct if the TV premiere is on Jan. 31st. that would make it after the fact. I wish they'd give us more heads-up time. I love going to these events every year.

Unfortunatley the event has been canceled, probably due to the WGA strike.

Daniel Dae Kim (character- Jin) confirms that it has been canceled...

I live in Hawaii and plan on attending. Last year the premier was 2 days before the TV premier. So, I think the date will change for sunset on the beach premier. It should be on the 29th or some where close to that. I am going to contact the Honolulu Police Station and see if they have a date for it yet. They would probably know. I will let you know when I find out.

For all of your questions. It is a free event that takes place on Waikiki Beach by the Zoo. All of the seating is on a first come first serve basis. They have vendors who sell food and drinks. The actors arrive and do a "red carpet" walk and sign some autographs, if you get lucky. I got there last year late. I arrived at 6pm and people were already there. We still got a seat for the show, but it wasn't the best. I hope this helps.
