Lost Easter Eggs
Now that we're getting closer to the February 26th release of the Lost: Via Domus video game, Ubisoft is finally giving us a closer look at it.  A new trailer for the game shows main character Elliott stumbling upon the smoke monster, Ben and Juliet, the Swan station, and a host of other familiar looking Lost locales and characters.

My biggest concern about this, aside from the terrible track record for tie-in games, are the fake voices used for most of the cast.  The faux John Locke was already annoying me by the end of the trailer, so following him around for an entire game will probably be painful.  Faux Jack doesn't fair much better.  We'll see if these things are a major concern when the Lost game hits stores later this month.

At least Ben's voice is really Emerson's and Mikhail's is also Divoff's, I think Claire is voiced by Emilie de Ravin also, which is good. While I do not like the fake voices, it's still Lost.In a game.Getting this one for sure. Maybe it'll suck, maybe it won't but I will still love it.

The voices were grating to me, too, but those types of things are usually the gripes you get used to once you get into the game (as anyone who's sat through the voice acting in the English version of Shenmue, great game as it is, can attest).

But they've perfectly nailed the look and feel of being on the island (which, let's face it, is the biggest draw to a LOST game) and it seems like they've put a lot of thought into the mechanics of it, like integrating flashbacks as a necessary gameplay mechanic (and little touches like the "previously on...") make it appear these guys at least know what they're talking about when it comes to making a LOST game.

Locke sounds terrible.

Fake Locke doesn't sound like Locke at all. At least Fake Jack sounds like Matthew Fox the first time.

It's all right with me though. I won't mind the fake voices. It's LOST-related so I'll love it.

whoa...lol, that was locke...dang i couldent even tell, thought it was some new character lol. at first i thought that it was jacks voice, then it like wasent..
kinda disappointing and smokey looks a little wierd to me.oh well im still getting it :D

A tie-in game to one of the most popular shows - with one of the highest budgets - on TV, and they couldn't get a decent sound-alike (or Terry O'Quinn himself) for Locke!?!

Bad voice-overs or not I am already sold on this game. The key for me is that the producers and I assume some of the writers were involoved with the game, so hopefully it will not stray to far from the show. it looks like it recaps the first three seasons from a new prespective. hopefully that means there may be things about the show we can learn from the game. if not just to be able to "play" in the "lost" world is enough for me. Going in my expections will be low, but I know i'll be waiting for Best Buy to open on the 26th to get started.

F*ck the voice overs... I'm there

OMG Giovanni I can't believe some1 else has played shenmue :) u r so right about the voice acting haha, it's like slo mo but man that games a classic, whatever happened to Shenmue 3...

While I believe that we the fans were owed the effort of trying to pursue to actual actors for voiceover work (Matthew Fox, Terry O'Quinn, etc) and that their exclusion will definitely be a sore spot for some of us devoted fans, the game still looks like an amazing piece of conceptualization, and we should judge it after we have played it, and not on the content of who did and who did not do voiceover work.

Granted, I am dissapointed that some of the authenticity of the game compared to the show has been lost. Voices are very defining, particularly in a drama such as Lost, with its importance on character interaction. The delivery and tones of phrases (Jack: We're never going back!!!") certainly resonate with emotion and clarity with the audience. yet, this game's elements look amazing. The others, the Smoke Monster, having to actually SURVIVE ont he isalnd in order to achieve tasks built around the objectives given to you...seems like a pretty realistic and exciting port of Lost from the TV to my hands.

Right after the character gets smacked by the chic, if you pause it at just the right moment you can read the words on a computer screen.

"find us, and we will show you the way."

I don't remember this being in the show, was it and I just don't remember it?

And Jeff, just before the end where the chinese letters come on screen there is a flash of a red symbol. I looked at it, nothin very interesting, i find it weird they put in sh1t like that... hmmm
