Lost Theories
Thanks to the TONS of readers who chimed in to let me know about this.   During last night's episode of Chuck on NBC, when they are flipping through Chuck's 'databank,'  he says something the effect of :

"...Oceanic 815 was shot down by..."

An homage yes!  Canon, no.  Probably the question I'm being asked the most is whether or not I know if this is canon or not.  It isn't.  It is, however, rock solid evidence that there is at least one Lost geek in Chuck's production offices.  Then again, aren't we everywhere?

True, we ARE everywhere. WATCH OUT!

Haha that was quite a surprise to hear "Oceanic flight 815" randomly in the middle of the episode.

I was just coming on over to mention this and question whether it was actually relevant to Lost or not.  But I guess we got answers already.  Cool.  Wait, how do we know it's not some weird sideways hint?  I mean, I figured it was just a nice lil inside joke, but do we know for sure?

I'm frankly a little annoyed at our fanbase for actually thinking this could be canon.

1. its on NBC

2.  its on NBC.

grow a brain people.

If ryan had answered Dwight's question "what is the Dharma Initiative?" would we be considering that canon?  I don't think so.

btw, Adam Baldwin is significantly less cool with that stupid haircut on Chuck than he was on firefly.

Also- LOST was mentioned another time on NBC's The Office. One episode, (don't remember the name) Andy walks into Michael's office and says something like "TGI- Wednesday! Tonight I'm gonna get my beer on, get my LOST on..." something like that. So LOST must have a lot of fans at NBC. I am surprised that LOST has been mentioned twice on The Office last season because usually networks would try to promote their own shows like Heroes or something.

lost was mentioned during the first season of the office also, when they all go down to the warehouse and dwight says "this is like on lost when they first met the others"

I still consider that canon

Another time on the office dwight said something along the lines of "This confrontaion is like in "Lost" when the surviors meet the others"

lol bohemus beat me to it lol.

Thanks for posting this..I thought I was crazy and the only person who heard it!

So... Uhm..

Who shot down Oceanic Flight 815?!   Did he ever.. say.. who did it? ...

Ummm... wasn't it mentioned on this site that Kristen from E! said that this incident would be mentioned on Chuck? So why is everyone surprised?

Chuck says "Oceanic flight 815 was shot down with a ground to air missile...."

In the second episode of the show Chuck on NBC, Chuck is being "tested" to see what data he knows from the government secrets that he witnessed. In this scene, he is told to say whatever first comes to mind about pictures that he sees. He says, "Oceanic flight 815 was shot down by a surface-to-air missile...". (While last part of the phrase isn't totally clear when listening, closed-caption confirms what is said.) Then the scene cuts. This is very interesting, seeing as how Chuck is an NBC show and Lost is on ABC.

Just so ya know, I'M not saying this generic pop culture reference is "very interesting"...Wiki is....    ;)

The only reason LOST was mentioned in any show on any other station is because they want you to be talking about their show, just like we're all doing right now.

It doesnt mean it was NBC's trying to say it was actually shot down....Chuck's just a conspiracy theorist
