Lost News
I'm still getting used to seeing Michael Ausiello's name over at Entertainment Weekly instead of TV Guide, where he became known for bringing TV scoop to the masses.  His latest bit of info at EW.com is about Lost actors John Terry (Christian Shephard) and Alan Dale (Charles Widmore).  Both actors are in talks to return next season on a recurring basis, which isn't unexpected, but he also revealed that their contracts have an additional option that's a bit more interesting.  The contracts state that the Lost producers have a right to sign both actors on as full-time series regulars in season 6.

What could this mean for Lost's final season?  Entertainment Weekly's Jeff Jensen weighs in with a theory:

"The prospect of expansive roles for Jack's maybe-dead dad and Penelope's dastardly deep-pocketed pop suggests a theory about the Island's true significance.  Here is a seemingly-magical place where the lame can walk anew, the impotent can once more shoot bullets, and anyone can crank on ancient donkey wheels and leap through time.  In other words, the Island provides the means for death-spooked mortals to cheat the grim reaper.  I'm betting that's why Old Man Widmore is so desperate to find it.  As for Ghost Dad, the Island allows him to stick around in his inexplicable spectral state and might even be facilitating a full-blown bodily resurrection; either scenario represents a violation of the natural order of things.  In the end, Jack will no doubt have to convince his father — and possibly his maybe-dead half-sister Claire, too — that they need to move on.  Regardless, keeping Terry around portends an emotional climax to Jack's father issue arc."

What do you guys think will become of Lost's two mysterious father figures?

THE LAST BATTLE!!!! ANYONE???

Sure, Widmore may be interested in the Island as a means to eternal life. But his goal might also be more in line with Michael's. He might be sick of living, as the Island seems to be preventing him from dying.

We know the island is keeping him alive, but how long has this gone on? I wonder if he was once a crew member of the Black Rock.

We are still unclear as who is essentially bad and good : Christian Shepard, Charles Widmore, Mathew Abadon, Jacob, Smokey, etc. With this news, I belive there will be definetly a Jack-Christian meeting on the island in season 6. I do belive we will ahve to wait to see the Jeremy Bentham off island in the Season 5 finale. Bad things happened when the Oceanic 6 left, can't wait to see what happens on the island. So if season 5 is about Dharma, 3 years on island, and Oceanic 6 off island? Does that mean no on island episodes for the Oceanic 6? Check out the Lost revisited Podcast at http://www.talkshoe.com/tc/22047
thanks

The DharmaDummies.com dudes think that Christian is EEEEEVIL. So him being around more adds to that. Eitehr way, the next season is about Ghosts, no doubt about that.

Hey guys go here and vote for LOST for the best recent achievement award.. they're losing to britney spears's cameo on HIMYM.

I wouldn't count on any sort of "bodily resurrection" for Christian Shephard where the character actually comes back from the dead. This probably just means that we'll get more messages from Jacob delivered through whatever or whoever is taking the form of Christian's body.

And then the Website went completely silent for a week.

I know you guys need advertising, but for God's sake, PLEASE change that Pier One ad. It's freakin' annoying how it prevents you from clicking on anything if your cursor just happens to run over it. It's obtrusive, it's obnoxious and it's not even a well-constructed ad. Frankly, it's made me lose interest in going to Pier One. Please consider replacing it with an ad that doesn't throw those call-out cirlces at us--if you alienate your readers, then an ad isn't worth having, no matter how much it pays.
