The Highway to Hawaii Raffle is for the purpose of getting DocArzt to Oahu.  Your Doc has been offered a set visit as the guest of the Lost crew!  Because my oldest son is in a development disabilities program nearly a hundred miles away (Feel free to send a card to Ethan in ‘1 east’ at Spring Harbor Hospital, Westbrook, ME – Google it) we have exhausted the savings we put aside for the trip.  As of right now, it won’t happen without your help.  The solution?  A really fun, and thoroughly ridiculous raffle/fundraiser.

Here is how it will work.  For a minimum donation of $1.00 you will receive an entry.  Each $5.00 donated on top of the first dollar will get you an additional entry.  On October 10th we will publish the complete list of everybody’s number of entries for download.  The list will be printed, cut into strips, and on October 15th, via live streaming video on the BuddyTV chat appliance, I will draw 10 names from a fishbowl.  The winners will be announced live, and published on the website

Entrants will not be named, every entrant will be assigned a number and will be contacted through email with that number.


10 Winners will go with me to Hawaii.  Or, at least their heads will.  Winners will provide me with head shots.  I will print the headshots life size and put them on sticks.  While on the island, I will be visiting all of the publicly accessible Lost shooting locations.  Every location I visit, I’ll take a picture of your head on a stick at the location.

Imagine:  Your head on a stick in the banyan tree that Kate hid in.  Your head on a stick in room 23.   The possibilities are endless.

NOTE:  Only areas where I am authorized will be photographed.

During my visit to the set, I will make an effort to get any accommodating cast member to pose with the heads.  Obviously, I cannot guarantee that the cast will be willing to do this, so this is a bonus possibility and not a guarantee.  I will definitely ask, and I will definitely ask for them to be signed as well, but when entering this contest you should assume that they will say no, or not have the time.  Since I am a guest, they may even tell me to “leave the damn heads in the car.”  Who knows.  Just trying to be upfront with you.

So to recap.  Minimum $1.00 donation for an entry.  Additional entry for each increment of $5.00.  Entries close midnight October 11th.  Drawing will be October 15th.  Head on a stick.
