I have a thought on Lost that I figured I'd post here, as this seems to be a "freepost" type of situation. lol
For SOME reason this just clicked with me the other day, and while I'm sure that there are plenty of people who have already figured this out, or thought of this, I haven't seen anyone mention it. Although I don't read the theory's out there, so... *shrug*
Everything I've read in the talkbacks and whatnot, is that everyone is wondering how they are going to explain why Walt is so much bigger and taller than he was at the end of Season 1 and parts of 2. And the common thing I hear is "they better not just screw this up on how they're gonna explain the difference in appearance".
However, what I think a lot of people are not thinking about is how much the time differs on island as opposed to off island.
So for all we know there are YEARS since they have been missing while only 3 months on the island.
So when Walt comes back, seeing as how he was off the island, it would be perfectly natural (under the rules of Lost) that he would be older than he was when everyone saw him last.
And when he comes back, his aging process will be slowed to island time.
Anyone else thought of this?

gary's theory could also explain why the others don't age. Like how richard looked the same when ben was a kid as he does now

The question is: How fast can they produce the episodes? I am almost certain there will be about a week or two break before the newly filmed episodes air.

lostfreak, there will, in fact, be about a month break between ep 8 and ep 9.

No, they are airing Ep 8 with the first batch not with the 2nd as was previously mentioned

and for those still confused, that means that it will go like this.
Episodes 1-8 will air straight through.
Then a four week break.
Then episodes 9-13 will air straight through.

Reply to Gar's post:
It's false theory to assume that years have gone by since Oceanic crashed while it only seems as though three months have gone by to the Losties. Remember, Desmond saw the calendar in the freighter read 2004. The calendar clearly shows days marked off to December 24 - in which Sayid also mentions this date.

True, but also this could be explained by the Freighter set up by someone who KNOWS the island's time is off, and they have the calender up so that if asked when it is by someone on the island, they can say "oh it's December 24th" or whatever.
I'm probably reaching, but still....lol
Although Keamy asked why Frank brought sayid and Desmond to the freighter, I'm guessing that they were supposed to rescue six of them, so they could have that there to not "disorient" them even more by saying "oh by the way, it's actually 2008 right now, and not 2004"

Yeah, but Penny had a Christmas tree in the background. I think it's December 24, 2004 worldwide.
