"Save Log Carrying Guys 08" is a campaign started by Jay and Jack on their Lost Podcast. It was in reference to the Ben centric episode, "The Shape of Things to Come," this past season wherein randos carrying logs were picked off in succession by Keamy's team.

I think the new Marvin Candle video perhaps feeds fire to the theory that the island was moved into the past, especially if that really was Daniel Faraday's voice on the video. Perhaps the Losties will meet Marvin Candle in the past, explaining how he knew all the future events, and maybe they'll have to find a way to stop the purge from happening or something like that. Really interesting new Candle video this year!

Well, if all goes according to plan, Lost jumps the shark in the 1970s.

This instantly makes Farraday's character more interesting, but I am not eager to watch Locke struggle with the moral dilemma of reforming Dharma. My only questions is, will we see this video in an episode at the beginning of season 5 or in the finale?

I have to commend the producers for giving us these nice little clips to whet our appetites. They probably should put out 1 every 3 months until the show starts up again, good way to keep people interested during the long wait.

Last year's Comic-Con video was the Orchid orientation video, and foreshadowed the season finale... I guess we can assume that this might have relevance to the season 5 finale.

Perhaps Jack and co. are able to hitch a ride back to the island with the people coming to restart the department of heuristics and research on material applications...

Well we hear Pierre tell what is presumably his wife to take the crying baby out side. What are the odds Miles's last name is Cheng?

Who is the "credible source" that tells Pierre about the purge in the 60's? Is it Farraday? If so that means he went back in time, but if they can't escape the purge as Pierre says himself, why even bother going back in time to try to prevent it.

Analyzing the video tape quality, was it made in the 60s? It looks like it was "beamed" into the future (probably 1980s) and recorded onto a VCR tape since it had all those tracking problems (thought the lines could have been caused by beaming it to the future). The tape itself was not the typical reel-to-reel tape that has been used for previous Dharma videos, so where did this more advanced camera come from?

Slim, I'd say, since it's Straume.

You sure about that? If I recall correctly from season 4, didn't someone on the freighter suggest people not use their real names and didn't Miles refrain from telling people on the island his last name? In either case, how much accurate information could Michael have collected on Miles, if Miles wasn't giving Michael truthful information? Then there is always the possibility that Miles was placed in a foster home upon removal of the island or had his last name changed to protect him from Linus.

I would wager to say the baby has to be of some importance, why put it in the video otherwise? Just to establish Pierre as a guy who likes to yell at people behind the camera as he did in the Orchid video? Doubtful. Too young to be baby Locke, I think they said "take him out of here" which would rule out Charlotte. Sounded a bit to old to be Aaron gone back in time. I'm sticking by baby Miles.

Oh I have the most glorious theory based on that new video.
I submit that Daniel is the voice behind the camera, therefore he is ageless like Richard and he was at one time part of the Dharma initiative. While on the island he had a family most notably a baby girl named Charlotte!

If Daniel is in the past with Candle, I think that reveals to us the direction season 5 will take: It likely means the island (and Daniel's raft) moved back to the 1970s, when the Dharma Initiative was first formed. That likely means we're going to see the history of Dharma unfold, enabling us to finally learn the real story of Rousseau, Mikhail, Candle, Annie, Horace Goodspeed and others whose pasts are currently shaded in mystery. We might even see ol' Roger "Workman" Linus again.

And if that's the case, I think I know where this is going--AND why Richard was the same age in the '70s that he is in the present. We're going to see the Others slaughter Dharma--and John Locke is going to be their leader when it happens. And the reason Richard didn't appear to age is not that he's long-lived or immortal, but that he went back in time when the island moved at the end of season 4. The Richard we saw when Ben was a kid is the Richard who ended up going back in time in last season's finale. And it's also why he told young Ben he could come live with them one day, when he was older--because he already knew it would happen, since he'd come back from that future.

And if John is going to lead the Others in slaughtering Dharma...and if Daniel is trying to warn Candle in an effort to get a message to the future to prevent that slaughter...then that likely means the reason Ben wants the Oceanic Six to go back to the island is to restore the Dharma Initiative by preventing the very slaughter he made possible. And the key to all of this is Hurley's mysterious numbers, which have been said to be part of an equation to predict the end of the world--because without the Initiative to study those numbers, the end of the world will come to pass, which is what the Others want. And that's why the Six have to go back, and bring John's body with them--to fix the mistake Ben and John both made in backing the Others, in an effort not only to save Dharma, but to prevent the world from ending.

So...who's with me on this?
