Might I just say that the sheer volume of awesomeness that you have been posting recently is...awesome.

It appears as though we'll be getting some answers to the whole Clair/Ethan/Aaron thing that's been lingering for some time. We should also get some answers on the fertility issue. On a side note, Sayid is the man. If Locke is the lock, then Sayid is the key. Doesn't it seem as though Locke shows us the possibilities and Sayid gets the answers???

Left Behind was interesting. Not my favorite, but interesting.

Smoky seemed to have some different sounds associated with it tonight. Did anyone else notice that when the bright light flashed on Juliet's face while she and Kate were being 'attacked', the weird insect-like chirping noises seemed amplified to become similar to the sounds of automatic weapons firing?

I noticed that too Lance... I was wondering what the hell it was doing to her. Maybe passing judgment?

Another Sayid torture scene? The possibility is awesome, even though it's... *sniff* Juliet...

Regarding Smokey - The rapid clicks sounded like a camera shutter. That's what it made me think of, esp. when coupled with the flashes of light... like it was taking a picture of her. It might be that smokey was "judging" Juliet, i.e. determining if she's a good or a bad person. This is possible since she's presumably never come face to face with Smokey before, b/c of the Others' fence.

I watched this sequence several times, and I noticed that Kate was never directly looking at Smokey, and for most of the flashes, Juliet's raised hand was shielding Kate's face from Smokey's field of vision... Has Kate come face to face with Smokey yet? I don't think she has... and if she hasn't, perhaps the fact that Smokey didn't see/judge Kate is what saved them from his wrath. This would also imply that Juliet is "good" per Smokey's judgement.

Also, we usually associate Smokey's appearance with the Smokey-sounds, and, of course, the cloud of smoke. But, I seem to recall other times where flashes of light have happened in smokey's proximity... Never in a rapid-fire series like tonight, but I think it's happened before. Can anyone think of instances when this has happened?

As much as I agree that Sayid is a bad ass, I think his exchange with Juliet will end with him doing nothing. She'll probably ask him about Nadia and he'll fold like a cheap chair.
I think Smokey was being electrocuted last night. It was after them and was about to attack and those series of flashes were it being "controlled". Then it goes after Juliet again and she stares it down from behind the barrier. It was definitely wanting some Juliet for breakfast. Great look on her face during that exchange. She's a great actress..
I guess my biggest question is why didn't Smokey go up and over the fence, like Kate and the gang?
Also, as many people are ruminating, if Smokey can manifest itself into a human form and become, say, Anthony Cooper, how did it get past the barrier? Which leads me to believe that the Anthony Cooper we are seeing on the island is the real Anthony Cooper, kidnapped by the Others and brought there for the purposes of controlling Locke.

Sayid may hurt Juliet a bit but nothing serious and we already know she can handle a little pain because she did pop her shoulder back in. I like Juliet and I dont want to see her get hurt but I wish Sayid would do what ever it takes to find out the truth because I dont trust her. We should have a poll to see who trusts Juliet and thinks shes on the losties side or against the losties and is just faking it to get info or something worse

Why does everyone seem to assume that the "box" and whatever comes out of it is directly link to or is SMOKEY! i think the box is a completley different thing to SMOKEY and that is why it is able to be in othersville past the fence because it is not SMOKEY it is another all together different mystical element to the island!

CAME OUT OF THE BOX! and then immediatley after that he shows him Cooper so its safe to assume he meant Cooper came out of the "box" thus meaning this is not the REAL Anthony Cooper, its a manifestation of some kind that the "box" has created, thats what i think anyway!.

P.S I agree with most of the above comments concerning SMOKEY and juliet in this weeks "Left Behind" i think SMOKEY was definatley scanning juliet and pinpointing her weaknesses and possible things it can manifest itself into later on, that or it was summing up wether she was a good or bad person and from the way it retreated i would imagine it concluded she was good, after all thats what the others have been saying all along that thier the "good guys"!.

Next weeks episode looks promising but as usual i bet Juliet wont reveal much! Cant wait for the Degroots flashback episode coming up that HAS to have some awnsers!

Did anyone think the opening scenes of Kate in the game room were out of order? It seems to me the Locke scene should have come first, followed by Kate attacking Juliet. The scene where she gets gassed begins with her lying on the floor reaching for the sandwich. Oh, and was it just me, or was anyone else hoping Kate and Juliet would start making out on the jungle floor?

And Lance, regarding smokey's noises. On the season one dvd, one of the sound engineers says something to the effect of "everytime we use the Smokey sound, we try to evolve it by adding new elements.", so it could just be that.

Remember that Lockes said when he saw Smokey he saw a bright light, and presumably Smokey thinks Locke is good, so then by that effect is Juliet "good" according to Smokey since bright lights went off in her face

Speaking of the monster, I do hope that it has some sort of badass "kill Arthur Dent" manifistation other than Smokey and impersonations.

I mean, the thing sound like one of the car eating, fire breathing, giant robot dinasours you see in monster truck rally commercials crossed with a rabid steam locomotive that just happens to be wrestling all the creatures from King Kong's island, accross the road from a 50 ton hydraulic pile driver driving steel pylons into solid granite bedrock While giant insects click noisy protests into 10000 watt Peavy speaker stacks being sound checked by drunk, hungry cave bears and disgruntled superrattlesnakes.

That thing make a lot of noise for a karma sensing, Eko killing, cloud of flying, some soft of light having, fence not liking nano particles. Maybe it needs as oil change?

With those kinds of noises, I would expect something that the space marines would rather nuke from space. I want to see it in a form that would scare the flapdoodle out of even the Power Rangers.

Puh-lease - Sayid ain't gonna torture Juliette. Not only would it be redundant but ridiculous. Besides, she's joining the 815 gang, if she wants to fit in she'll give up [most] of what she knows.

The little exchange between Sayid and Juliet about him killing her if she talked....I'm pretty certain that Juliet was behind whatever was done to Claire after she was kidnapped by Ethan. Juliet has quite a bit to be afraid of in the company of the Losties.
