Lost Easter Eggs
A new article in the New York Post, entitled "10 Reasons Why Lost is Found," claims that the show is the best it's been since the first season.  They also got some interesting tidbits out of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, including their plans for seasons 5 and 6 of the series.

"Season 4 is about who gets off the island and the fact that they need to get back," Lindelof points out.  "Season 5 is about why they need to get back, and season 6 is about what happens when they get back."

The showrunners also claimed that J.K. Rowling gave them the inspiration to wrap the series up after 6 seasons.  "When we heard her say that she was only writing seven [Harry Potters], we were inspired," says Lindelof.  "Franchise shows like Grey's Anatomy don't need to have a beginning, middle and end.  They can bring in new doctors, nurses and patients, but shows like ours need to have a place to go."

The article claims that Lost will air seven episodes before taking a break, then return in April with episodes eight through thirteen.  According to Michael Ausiello at TV Guide, this is incorrect.  Lost will air eight episodes, then take a break and return with nine through thirteen on April 24.

cool

Thanks a hell of a lot for not marking this with a "spoiler" tag. Because I read this I now know that they get back to the island in Season 6. Thank you soooo much.
I don't even watch the previews anymore to avoid finding out who the next episode is about. I just came here looking for either some new analysis from Eggtown and I see a new article about Seasons 5&6. There's no spoiler tag so I assume it's just about the time slot for the future seasons or maybe about how many episodes they are doing or something related to how the strike has changed things. I'm so pissed right now.

relax, man.
if you haven't realized that they're going to get back to the island, you need to pay a bit more attention.
besides, what the hell do you think they're gonna do for 2 and a half more seasons if they don't get back to the island??
sure, it's technically a spoiler, but it's not like it's something that gives anything too serious away.

Just to be safe Jake, I think if you see "talk about seasons 5 and 6" in a headline, you should consider it a spoiler.

I agree. Anyone who didn't think that they would get back to the island should really take a narrative class or something. How unsatisfying would it be if they never went back? Read: VERY.

It also doesn't reveal who will or won't make it back to the island. Jack, Hurley, and Sayid's lives seem to be in the toilet, after all, but Kate seems to be doing alright. Does she need to go back? To paraphrase Al Gore out of Saturday Night Live... the article just does NOT say. ;-)

That article is chock full of inaccuracies and inconsistencies. For starters, their 10 reasons why they love Lost is actually a list of marginally correct facts about the season so far. They mention that they know who the Oceanic Six are, but only list the 4 that we know already, They say there were only going to be 8 episodes when we knew that there were going to be a lot more before the strike, The show's opening graphic does not have a reflection of a city in it, the promotional materials do. Not to mention all of the grammatical errors in it. (I know, pot calling the kettle black) Can this be a trusted source for materials pertaining to the show we love? Maybe, but it gives pause.

I analyze everything and I pay very close attention and there has been zero confirmation on the show that they back to the island. At the end of Season 3 we got confirmation that they get off the island. Before that I was only 1% sure that they would get off the island.
As far as them not getting back to the island? I was only maybe 10% sure that they would get back.
Look, a few years ago I read the Dark Towers series by Stephen King. Those books
changed my expectations in regards to fiction. Anything can happen.
If they didn't get back to the island I would still be happy as long as the show still had an ending that suprised/shocked me. Just like the awesome ending of The Dark Tower.
To me anything is possible and the possibility of them not getting back to the island was always there for me. But not anymore.

Jake, it was no mystery they were going back. It is silly to be angry over something you KNOW is going to happen. It would be like reading the first half of a novel. I don't see it needing a spoiler tag.

This should be marked with a spoiler tag, however it's pretty obvious that they were going back.

In the mobisode "King of the Castle", Jack tells Ben that he never wants to return to the island, and Ben replies, "Never say never." Later, we learn in "Through the Looking Glass" that Jack wants to return.

In "Beginning of the End", Jack tells Hurley that they'll never go back to the island, and Hurley replies, "Never say never." That's a really BIG hint to me...

there basically was a spoiler tag, as don said, when u see info on season 5 and 6, AND not only that, but "Damon and Carlton talk about seasons 5 and 6" i think its pretty damn obvious its not about scheduling, considering thats done by ABC not them and not decided until a few weeks to a month prior to each season, its stupid to think that it would be them talking about what nigt and time LOST will be airing 2-3 years from now, use your head, i find it hard to believe that someone who is so careful as to not even watch the commercials, would even be coming to these websites, let alone reading stuff labled this way, and this is all ignoring the fact that learning that they get back isnt a big deal at all considering the plot of trying to get back to the island was introduced last season

i agree, it is kind of spoilery, and should have been marked as such (i try to be spoiler free-- i too don't watch any previews, and i don't even like to know the episode name beforehand). but i'm really surprised that cuselof gave away such information so early. saying what season six is about is very signifigant, it seems to me. it's one thing to know that they're going to try to get back to the island (with all the suspense inherent in that), it's quite another to say that they actually make it back.

I don't think anything should be marked with a "spoiler" anyhow. I have read every "spoiler" there is and I still anticipate and enjoy everything that comes to pass. And I still don't know where the story is going, EVER! So if you see something you don't like, boo-friggin'-hoo. There is really no need to be on the net looking into this show if you are not looking for something spoiler-ish. Hell, I don't even believe everything that comes from "Darlton" themselves anymore. They speak in riddles about everything unless it's something that has already happened, and the fans are barking up the wrong tree about it's meaning. So keep this in mind cry babies: Everything you read on here is probably trying to predict what is to come in the show. Simple....everything is a "spoiler"!

So let me get this straight...you read a post entitled "Lindelof and Cuse Talk About Seasons 5 and 6"...and you're pissed about spoilers? What the heck could they possibly have been discussing about seasons 5 and 6 that wouldn't have been spoilerish? Sorry, man, but you have only yourself to blame for reading something so blatantly spoiler-prone. If you want to avoid spoilers, don't read interviews with the creators aout the upcoming seasons--that's just common sense.

I think this show NEEDED to reveal some of the larger storylines. There are so many theories flying around and intricate details that we assume to have a larger meaning that a little confirmation from time to time is kind of a welcomed change.

And Wheelchair: Watch the show, THEN post that you hate it. =D

I agree with every post on here, You must be a complete moron to think that hey talked about timeslots. Seriously, would 8 pm, 9pm or 10 pm affect your viewership in any way?
Oh wait, maybe you thought it was going to run in the afternoon in place of All My Children. Give me a break, you wanted some insights to the storyline or you would not have clicked on the link.
In my personal opionion, people who don't want things spoiled, don't search the internet for information.
Stick to ABC.com if all you want is wallpaper downloads and time schedules.

Please respond! does anyone know if the finale will be 2hrs?!!!!?

WOW - I can't believe there are people who still think they might not get back to the island after Damon and Cartlon SAY IT IN A ARTICLE!!!!!!! It is confirmed!

What is wrong with you people!?!?!?!

Sometimes things are not as difficult as they seem. For example:

The bracelet was just a bracelet
Kate did say Aaron - (not eric or egor or anything else)
The flash forwards are real people - Confirmed - this is not hearoes where the futre cane be changed -

Damon and Carlton said all of this!!!!

Let us our brains from here on in!!!! (please dont look to far into that commment)

One more thing -this is not a spoiler - Many Many things are going to happen in between now and then!

O great two more seasons of the oceanic six. if the producers were wondering why the ratings have plummetted look no further. why do the seasons have to have this central theme? The beauty of Lost is the diverse body of viewers. Some people watch for character story lines, some watch for the island mysteries, jacob, the monster, the others, Ben, Dharma, etc. The way the show has been it has completely left out many of these groups, hence the dramatic decline. why was season 1 so successful? all of these groups were satisfied. you didn't know if you'd get a monster episode, a numbers episode, something about the others, etc. THROWING AS MANY TWISTS AS POSSIBLE INTO AN EPISODE IS NOT WHAT ATTRACTS VIEWERS, people watch when the show when it touches on all the various key elements not just the oceanic 6. locke, ben, and juliet who are the most appealing characters in the show have barely been on
