I thought that it was pretty clear that the person who washed up was the doctor from the freighter. I think I read somewhere that it's not the body that is super important but what it means that this particular body has washed up. Remember, there is some kind of time gap.

that second clip was god-awful! what has happened to the writing, the acting and the production quality of this show? Until Bernard chimes in this whole scene should be scrapped by the editors...

im surprised jack is already starting with the pils. obviously by the time he gets to that last scene of the s3 finale with kate at tht point hes addicted. but between now and when we see him with hurley he at least looks fine. and thats a pretty big gap if hes first starting now youd think he might get addicted even around when the rescue comes. it just seems a little early to have him start now. but wow i cannot wait for the rest of this season. the whole thing looks insane.

First off. Yes, it is definitely NOT menkowski... he has grey hair.
Secondly, Jack is not pill popping yet. They are foreshadowing him being sick in a couple episodes. These are only antibiotics.... non habit forming. Jacks problem is alcohol anyway.

Jack is not addicted yet. People please get a grip and watch the show. He tells Kate they are antibiotics and in the S3 finale he is addicted to hillbilly heroin, i.e. Percocet or as you can see on the script bottle, the generic of that which is called Oxycodone.

Either those are painkillers or Jack's stomach bug is the smoke monster. I'm going with the more obvious choice.
