The Sideways Are “Absolutely Necesssary”

Lost News — March 8, 2010 at 7:41 pm by John

Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof talked to TVGuide.com again about the upcoming episodes, and while there aren’t that many new things - they talked about Jacob’s candidates and the storyline changes in the parallel timeline - they insist that the flash-sideways storylines are critical to the story. “People are saying [they] don’t need these stories and all we can say is they’re absolutely 100 percent necessary to tell the story of Lost,” Lindelof said. “Hopefully by the end of the season it will be more obvious as to why.”

Lost Folk Win Big at the Oscars

Lost News — March 7, 2010 at 10:07 pm by John

Yes, there is a connection between Lost and this year’s Oscars - and not just the fact that both are aired over ABC. Two people whose work you’ve probably seen (or heard) from the show have won in different categories.

First off, Fisher Stevens - best known as Minkowski on the fourth season - won the Best Documentary Feature award for the film The Cove, about the discovery of a “secret cove” in Japan where dolphins are killed for food.

Also, Michael Giacchino - responsible for the show’s score - won the Best Musical Score award for his work on the Disney/Pixar film Up.

Congratulations to the winners, especially to fellow Losties who have made it big on the Oscar stage!

Lost Crew Safe After Hawaii Tsunami Alert

Lost News — February 27, 2010 at 4:47 pm by John

The Lost cast and crew are in safe hands after the 8.8-magnitude earthquake that hit Chile overnight sent tsunami alerts ringing across the Pacific, including Hawaii, where production is still going on.

E! Online reports that some of the cast are in Los Angeles for the Paley Festival, but Daniel Dae Kim, who was supposed to go too, decided to stay in Hawaii. We’ve moved to high ground and are staying with friends who generously opened their home to us,” he said. “All that’s left to do is wait.”

Damon Lindelof also told E! Online that all the crew are accounted for. “Our entire team in Hawaii appreciates all the positive energy being sent their way,” he said.

Our thoughts are, like everybody else, with those affected by the quakes in Chile.

Terry O’Quinn Preps Show With Michael Emerson

Lost News — February 25, 2010 at 4:35 pm by John

Locke and Ben together… outside of the Island? Could work.

Terry O’Quinn told TV Guide Magazine that he’s shopping around a potential new series that will reunite him with fellow Lostie Michael Emerson. “We’d play kind of awkward partners,” O’Quinn said of the series, which will feature the two as “suburban hit men juggling family issues”.

Terry wouldn’t reveal the specifics, but he wants to see the project push. As for Michael? “I’m all in favor of it. Any reason to work with Terry again.”

Another Lost alum is set to appear in the CSI franchise: Entertainment Weekly reports Harold Perrineau is set to appear in an April episode of CSI: NY, as a death row inmate who finds himself in the middle of a prison riot, just as he drops a bombshell on Hill Harper’s character.

Perrineau isn’t the first Lost cast member to appear in the popular crime franchise: Cynthia Watros appeared in CSI’s ninth season finale.

Nadia Comes Back, Too

Lost News — February 17, 2010 at 4:55 pm by John

At the same time Maggie Grace’s return as Shannon was announced, it’s also confirmed that Andrea Gabriel, also known as Sayid’s childhood love Nadia, is returning to the show. Like Shannon, she also died after being hit by a car after the Oceanic Six returned to Los Angeles. There’s no confirmation when or for how long she’ll appear, but we can guess she’ll be in the other, 815-has-landed timeline. Thoughts?

Maggie Grace Returns To Lost

Lost News — at 3:52 pm by John

Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse told Entertainment Weekly that Maggie Grace is returning to Lost this season. They’re not saying how many episodes she’ll be in, but it’s quite certain she’ll be in the tail-end. “We have a good story for her,” Cuse promised.

Maggie, of course, was Shannon, who died midway through the second season. She wasn’t able to join shooting for Lost’s earlier episodes as she was working in a couple of movies. Now, Shannon joins a roster of killed-off characters who are returning this sason.
