So now we know how the purge came about, or at least we have a good idea. However, what we do not know is why was Dharma’s supplier still dropping in palettes of supplies? Should we just accept that there was no off island element to Dharma, and that the supplies are dropped from a contractor paid for by a bottomless pit fund? Is Dharma functioning in agreement with the change of pecking order on the island, eyeing wholesale murder as an acceptable exchange for the advancement of their cause? Assuming that there is an off island arm of the Dharma initiative, how have Ben and his people kept up the rouse that Dharma is still in operation? Check out my crazy theory below.

There’s been some speculation about the creepy dog painting in Jacob’s cabin, and no, it isn’t Vincent. The LOSTpedia blog just claimed that it is in fact Lulu Bender, LOST’s executive producer Jack Bender’s new pet. Lulu has already appeared in the episode "The Cost of Living", as well as in some promotional photography for LOST. Read more at the LOSTpedia blog, as well as the wiki article for Lulu.
Besides being a creepy rendering of Bender’s new pooch, the painting is the second portrait so far to portray a ‘pet’ concept. The first one being the infamous "Hamster of Mystery" from "The Man From Tallahassee."

After completing my fourth sweep over the frame by frame clips of the "Man Behind the Curtain" promo for next week, I came upon a peculiarity. It appears that Marvin Candle MAY be sporting a new Dharma logo and there is a slim (perhaps self deluding on my part) possibility that this logo is the infamous "Door" logo from the season two finale.
The badge is slightly distorted by a bend in the cloth, which may make the right angle we see an illusion. In fact, there is a blob of white which corresponds with the location of the Swan’s head on the swan logo, but that may be an illusion from the bend as well. So there are three possibilities: 1) it is "The Door" logo and the rounded blob is an illusion due to the bend. 2) It is "The Swan" logo and the right angle is an illusion due to the bend of the cloth. 3) It is either "The Door" logo, or a Dharma Logo we have never seen before. Have a look:

First of all, no that is not a misspelling of Literally; it is my failed attempt at a play on words. Second I have to apologize. I had a geek gasm last night about something I had hoped I would get confirmation on and BAM, there it was. Naturally, this launched me into 2,000 word essay mode. I feel strongly I’m on to something here, but you might find this a complete waste of time but essentially I have a ‘road map’ theory that I think lays out the direction the show is going in. LOST is a bit hard to figure out because you have a swarm of overlapping mythological devices going on. There is definitely no Monomythism going on in the LOST writers room. This is extremely cool because it keeps even well educated viewers off balance. What is the central structure? All myths have structures, and most myths have heroes. LOST has become a veritable case of "Can’t see the forest through the trees" by keeping the hero of the story a moving target. Jack seems obvious, so does Kate, and even Sawyer. At times Hurley has seemed a possible center, after last season a lot of people thought this had really been Desmond’s story all along and our hero had been hidden from us in the first act. Without further delay, here is my theory. I apologize in advance for its girth! Hopefully it brings you some enjoyment and food for thought.

Fans who had followed the alternate reality game "The LOST Experience" during the break after Season 2 have been looking for connections in the actual episodes of LOST. In D.O.C. there was finally another firm connection. Sun’s father’s company Paik Automotive was featured in the storyline, but the Korean logos visible in the background translate to "Paik Heavy Industries." The connection? P.H.I. was mentioned numerous times in The LOST Experience, but we never knew for sure that the two Paiks were the same, since it’s such a common surname in Korea. Now we have confirmation that Sun’s father is the same Mr. Paik that built the Helgus Antonius for the Hanso Foundation. Read more at Nickb123’s entry at the LOSTpedia blog.
Juliet’s failed OB-GYN surgery in her island flashback featured some interesting paintings hanging in the operating room. A little research revealed that both are Georgia O’Keefe paintings, an American painter who is known for close-up images of flower parts that are rendered to resemble female private parts– an appropriate theme for a fertility surgery. Read more at the new LOSTpedia blog, which also notes a remarkable similarity between Juliet’s automobile in this episode, a Volvo, with Sawyer’s Volvo S70 from way back in Season 1. LOST has re-used stunt cars before (for example Jin’s BMW in 3.02 was formerly Tom Brennan’s in 1.22), so it’s possible, but unlikely as these scenes did not involve stunt car work.

With the reveal of John Locke’s trip to wheelchairville, a huge void has opened in the LOST universe. What could possibly take the place of the John Locke mega mystery? Surely not what will become of Cooper. Locke has lots of knives and something tells me he has watched "Make them die slowly" once or twice.
Thankfully there is one new mystery that easily carries the weight of "How was Locke Paralyzed". I’ve code named it "The Hamster of Mystery".
The manifestation thing was just plain weird on its own, the talk of boxes, and so on. But as Ben was wheeling out to his living room, we saw the first indication that he was telling the truth. Just as he mentioned that the electricity was supplied by Hamsters on treadmills, what do we spy? A portrait of a chick looking a lot like Juliet holding, you guessed it, a Hamster. Just what is the deal with the Hamster of Mystery? When will his/her secrets be revealed? Where is Jeff Jensen with his mind blowing historical Hamster tie in? Stay tuned.
They are called “crossings” according to executive producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof. They’re those moments every die hard fan of Lost spends hours in forums discussing. The moments when, usually during a flashback, we find that one of our beloved characters has “crossed” paths with another character connect to the island. Sometimes characters recognize the people from their past (e.g. Jack recognizing Desmond), but most often, they do not realize their connection at all (e.g. Jack and Claire are siblings) and therefore perhaps, they miss a key component to figuring out their role on the island.

Insomnia is a funny thing. You can go all day on the verge of collapse, wanting nothing more than a few precious hours of uninterrupted sleep. But as soon as night time rolls around you’re bouncing off the walls with more manic energy than a hyperactive toddler on half a case of Mountain Dew. So with sleep out of the question, what is an insomniac to do with the hours between 2 and 5 a.m.? The answer as it turns out, is to consolidate your sleeplessness with your borderline abnormal obsession with ABC’s Lost, and use those hours to ponder the show’s many mysteries, ultimately arriving at a theory that you’re absolutely positive explains everything … until the next episode airs and you’re proven almost entirely wrong. But with the next episode still three days away, I’ve got at least 72 hours left before I have to admit that my nocturnal brainstorming has been an exercise in futility. So with that, I pose to you the latest rumination to come screeching out of the recesses of my sleep-addled mind (very light, almost non-spoilers discussed after the link):

Let’s take a trip back through time to the LOST season one finale Exodus, Part 2. The harrowing kidnapping scene that left a noticeable child shaped hole in the plot, and was the impetus for our almost unanimous loathing of the phrase "My Son". Certainly one of the creepiest moments in LOST, eclipsed by the anti-climatic opening of the hatch, but a favorite to be sure.
On board the rickety boat, to the left of Mr. Friendly, sat a pair of twins. They were not obvious at first, and when people first began to pick them out there was controversy over whether or not the twins even existed; finally, however, the producers came forward with confirmation that there were absolutely twins on that boat, and that this fact would become quite important in the future of the show. Since then, we haven’t seen a single set of twins. Is this an abandoned portion of the plot, or a revelation that the LOST maestros are just not ready to let go of yet? Is there even more to this twin incident yet to be revealed?
