The New York Times has an interesting article about how the Lost crew prepared for their Comic-Con panel over the weekend. For their final panel, it’s a lot of preparation: twelve people, four months, and a pretty big budget. $25,000 went to song rights, props, and bringing the actors to the panel alone.
While Cuse and Lindelof said Elizabeth Mitchell was returning, Josh Holloway may have let something slip during the press interviews afterward. In describing what Sawyer will be like in the final season, Holloway indicated that his character will revert to his bitter, non-heroic life after the death of Juliet. So in whatever capacity Mitchell returns, it won’t be next to Sawyer.
“Now that he’s lost Juliet, I think the leader/hero thing is gone,” Holloway said. He added that Sawyer is “heart-broken, he’s back to [thinking] the world sucks.”

Well, maybe it won’t make it to the actual episodes, but the folks at ABC would still want to hear them. Marking five years at Comic-Con, they’re asking for your contributions: what would the ideal theme song for the show be, if ever there was one? Rules and details are on the show’s official site. Oh, and the winning piece will be performed at the Comic-Con panel.
The Lost panel at this year’s Comic-Con would be more than just writers and actors answering questions. “We’ve been working on the Lost panel for literally months,” ABC’s marketing executive veep Mike Benson told The Hollywood Reporter. “We want the audience to experience Lost in a fully entertaining way.” That’d mean specially-shot footage and guests popping up on July 25 from 11am-12nn.

Here it is folks! Your primary gateway into all the Comic-Con action as it unfolds! Our man in the center is the one and only Tapdawg! Later this afternoon we should be talking with the most dangerous Lost blogger on the planet, the Lost Ninja! Unfortunately, my audio crew has not checked in so no guarantees there, but we will definitely have images and perhaps some video as the even rolls on!
As you know, we are also covering the entire event over at BuddyTV and have a forum going there at http://forums.buddytv.com/comicon.html. I’ll be watching the comments here prepared to geek out right along with you guys as Tapdawg brings us the big news live, as it goes down. The Lost Panel begins in about three hours. In the meantime, as Tapdawg - or anyone else - posts in this thread, the index will update automatically with links to the latest articles!
Non-Lost, but not so non-Lost I shouldn’t report it! My compadre Oscar Dahl is covering the entire Comic-Con for BuddyTV and chimed in with some words on Lindelof and Abram’s appearance at the Paramount panel.
Zachary Quinto AND Leonard Nimoy will both appear as Spock in the new movie which is being co-produced by Abrams and Lindelof, and directed by Abrams. Nimoy said the script was, quote, "Awesome," without even blinking an eye. Creepy.
Cloverfield is not titled ‘Monstrous,’ and the title is not lurking around waiting to be discovered. So sorry for getting you all excited.
Hey guys, Tapdawg here!
We were just let in a few minutes ago and I got a first row seat. The room itself sits around 1500 to 2000 people and I’d say there are already 600 or more people in the room. The buzz in the room is already growing and I can’t even tell you how many losties I’ve seen wearing Dharma logo shirts and outfits. Only another 90 minutes before the panel begins!
UPDATE:
I just saw Carlton Cuse but wasn’t able to get a picture of him.
Only 30 minutes to go!
P.S. There are six seats and mics, I think Damon and Carlton will have some friends accompaning them.
J.J Abrams mysterious monster film known as Clover, Cloverfield, Slusho, and 1-18-08, has been spotted in high-resolution goodness at Comic Con! Curiously, this is the same poster which bore the title "Monstrous" in some hazy camera phone pics, but it does not carry that title! Hmmmm.
