Discuss: Season 6 Premiere “LA X”
Lost’s sixth season has begun, and already there’s a lot to ponder about. Is Sayid really Jacob? What’s the point of the alternate timeline? Was Juliet really able to detonate Jughead? What’s the end game? We’ve got a week to talk about it. Your thoughts are welcome at the comments section.

OK, where are my fellow losties who adored this site. I’ve never missed an episode, and find myself here every day right after an episode airs…. I truely look foward to reading other readers takes on the show, but it seems this place has died…….
I found the show to be awesome…. I didnt ponder the idea of Sayid being Jacob, I was more afraid he may be like Locke, and be possesed with a evil version.

I didn’t think the show was too shocking in terms of Lost reveals, I thought it did a great job clarifying a lot of the past stories and setting the stage for the rest of the season.
I too thought that the reason they killed Sayid was so Jacob could be resurrected in his body. Time will tell on that one.
I’m not sure the point of the alternate timeline, i’ll let you know after a desmond or farady episode
Juliet did destroy the bomb as Miles said her last thoughts were “it worked.”
End game, i’m thinking, is an epic duel between Jacob and the smoke devil figure. Perhaps even the Losties will be forced to split their allegiances between the two “deities” and determine the outcome of this final battle.

My theory is that the point of the alternative timeline is that it is the same new time…just at different points. Remember, Faraday said that everything that has happened must continue to happen. So, in different ways events still remained to have our crew end up on the island after the hatch blew. Somehow Juliet knows this and Desmond is a key figure once again. Thoughts
?

What I think is…
In the original story line, the one with flight 815 crashing on the island, desmond was not on the plane. Since he is now, it means he never went to the island and lived in the hatch. this because there was no malfunction and therefore no numbers to input.
Few things I didn’t catch:
when hurley says jacob told him to bring sayid to the temple, jack asks who’s jacob… isn’t he supposed to know who he is??
a hidrogen bomb is something quite powerful, does this mean that in the story line where they are still on the island but since they travelled through time at the moment of the explosion they were not affected by it?
in the story line where they are back on the plane, with the scene of the sunken island… did the island sunk because of the explosion?
if anyone has theories about it… please share!

Couple of things:
1. Don’t hold your breath for a Farraday episode, he is dead in one universe and never born in the other (bomb goes off, either Widmore died in the 70s or at the very least Ben never grew up to Banish him).
2. Desmond thing goes deeper than not having to push the numbers. He never went to the island because he never started the boat race because Widmore and by extension Penny don’t exist in that universe, so he never had anything to prove or ran into Libby to give him the boat in the first place.
3. The Losties still on the island aren’t affected by background radiation or anything because in their universe the bomb didn’t go off and everything happened just like it did in seasons 1-5.
I think we may be looking at many alternate universes (like Sliders) and the reason healing someone in the pool means they’ll never be the same again is because they are really swapping out sick them for a healthy version from another reality.

Any one else notice that evil Locke made a mistake, He said that Locke was the only one of the losties that didn’t want to leave the island.
Seems He forgot about Rose.

Thank you Gene, you’re probably right, or at least I agree with you.
i was thinking… it’s incredible how ben became so weak. he’s totally the opposite person he used to be, the one we used to know, that everyone on the island used to fear. Is he hiding/planning/playing anything? or is he just totally hopeless and submissive?
i was also thinking… can’t remember which season, maybe 3, when jack, sawyer and kate were prisoner on the smaller island. they were building a run way? a run way for what? it’s been a long time, but was it explained or was some theory confirmed?
tnx

DIEGO: the runway was used to land AJIRA 316 in Season 5 - Ben knew it would happen and was preparing for it.
JUSTIN: Rose NEVER wanted to leave the island bc off-island she had cancer - on-island she was healed.

@gene That’s too bad, Faraday was one of my favorite characters. While you may be right about Desmond, that new story is much less interesting… I really like what they did with Desmond last season and think they should continue to build on that.

Am I tripping or did the flight attendent tell the leader at the temple (the actor from the last samarui) that Jack was from the FIRST oceanic flight 815…..
and the show is trying to portray her and the children from the first night snatching on Mr. Ecko’s crash site right…..
