John K.’s Theory: What Happened to Kate?
Kate made Jack promise never to ask her about what she did with Aaron, and while he agreed, fans certainly didn’t. Aaron’s fate was one of the biggest questions left in “316,”
On the pier, Kate went off with Aaron, and nearly 24 hours later, he was gone and Kate was in Jack’s place. What happened to Claire’s “bay-bay” is a total mystery.
However, if seems obvious that Kate would leave Aaron with someone else, someone she trusted. The problem is Kate doesn’t have a lot of people she trusts, so the pool of potential caretakers for Aaron is short.
Since we know she’s in town, Claire’s mom is a possibility, but I prefer another theory: Cassidy Phillips. Fans remember her not only for helping Kate in one of her flashbacks, but as the woman Sawyer conned and allegedly had a child with.
Sawyer whispered something to Kate on the helicopter before he jumped off, and so far we haven’t figured out what that was. Most fans think it was a message for his daughter, Clementine, which would mean Kate has been in contact with her since getting off the Island.
So I lean towards the theory that Kate left Aaron with Cassidy, which would not only answer this question, but also give the show a chance to fill in the mystery of what Sawyer said to Kate.
What do you think? Is Aaron with Cassidy? Or Claire’s mom? Or someone else? Is he even alive?

Aaron is on the plane, most likely with Claire’s mom headed back to Australia after a stop over in Guam. Kate was being followed so Ben would know wherever Aaron went and could snatch him up. If Ben was able to get everyone else aboard, why wouldn’t Aaron be there? In trying to recreate the flight, Aaron is being smuggled in Kate’s vagina?

If everyone needs a proxy on the island, perhaps Aaron proxies Walt and will end up there since there were a lot of flights that seemed to meet he coordinates, and Kate proxies Claire and is pregnant…

heh, bay-bay.
HA! nice theory, bluto. I want to see _that_ flashback.
I like the Cassidy theory, but chaces are, he’s on the plane with… somebody.

Aaron is with Claire’s mom- this Cassidy theory makes no sense. Kate leaves Aaron, whom she would do anything for, with a woman she spent a few hours with over 3 years ago? There is no doubt that she saw her as Sawyer’s message was to find Clementine and “tell her I’m sorry”- but I find it impossible she leaves Aaron with Cassidy. But…..everyone is missing a BIG clue. Claire was pregnant on the flight. The proxy has been achieved by Kate’s jumping Jack - Kate is flying as the proxy for Claire, pregnant with a little Shepard. It was the first thing I thought of during that scene.

I don’t think it’s a mystery what Sawyer said to her. Some fans have amplified the whisper of Sawyer’s voice and it says something like “I have a child in Albuquerque. Find her …” or something like that. You can find it on the net.

I don’t think Kate take the role of Claire because she’s pregnant. I think she take the role of Charlie the junkie.
Really, look carefully her eyes when she took off her sunglasses on the plane when Jack talk to her for the first time.
Kate’s on drugs, just like Charlie was. She’s not pregnant, that will be too much if there’s another woman pregnant on this show. That will explain also her strange behavior at the airport and in the bedroom.
What are you thinking?

Frank- now that is crazy. Hurley brought the guitar, that was the Charlie re-creation. Drugs! LOL!
There needs to be an explanation for why Kate jumped in bed with Jack, other than the ooeey-goooey romantic stuff. I beleive that is what is happening. Kate’s “strange behaviour” was not strange at all-as you know, Damon says, they choose words very specifically- Kate’s seperation from the O6- and esp Jack- is to do with her decision to relinquish Aaron and her intent to create distance from Jack. She does not yet know that she is pregnant, she just thinks she said goodbye to Jack. It won’t be too much if there is another pregnant woman on the show, Ms Hawking stressed recreation of as many original circumstances as possible, this is necessary, not a stunt.

Perhaps Kate has accepted she will never return from the island and that she loved having a child. Getting knocked up before leaving will be her only chance to have a kid without costing her life (women who conceive on the island die on the island).

Well we know that Ben told Jack, pack whatever you want in this world because you are never coming back, its a bet that some of the O6 will come back (Sun likely will, she has her child to return to) and some will not. Darlton has always said not all the characters will live and of course there is the question of who are Adam and Eve (Penny and Des? Kate and Jack? Kate and Sawyer? The DeGroots? Other…?) But if we know one thing about Lost its that NOTHING happens on there writing wise that does not set up something that will unfold. Kate and Jack jumping into bed in ‘316′ I can assure you was NOT by accident and not just to whet the Jaters appetite. They would not have done it were it not setting something up and I beleive it is a pregnancy. Whether she holds onto the baby, whether she returns to the world to have it and that is how Jack lives on (were he to die as his destiny) remains to be seen, but they would never have done that scene were it not to mean something and I am sure its a Kate pregnancy. Trust me, I don’t WANT this to be the case, I despise the two of them together. But nothing so significant happens on the show like that scene without it meaning something more than meets the eye.

Actually bluto, as funny as that sounded at first - Aaron in Kate’s vagina! - may not be as ridiculous as I thought. Technically, (depending on your view of the personhood of fetuses), Aaron was not on the plane; he was in Claire’s womb. After Jack and Kate’s little rendezvous the night before, isn’t it entirely plausible that Kate is pregnant and the fetus inside her is Aaron’s proxy? Hence, no need for Aaron. Kate might even willingly agree to get pregnant with Jack in exchange fot Aaron’s safety. (With whom? I’m on the Carol Littleton bandwagon there - but I have little reason to back that up except for the sheer convenience of it all. Kate would probably believe that is what is best for Aaron in the long run anyway.)

blackmail kate into getting knocked up?
i like it.

Remember when Kate was pregnant from boning Sawyer? Everything for a purpose indeed!
Comment by German — February 24, 2009 @ 2:20 pm
Kate was never pregnant after sleeping with Sawyer….she specifically told him she was not.
And Hante, we are in agreement. That was my whole point several posts ago…….but its not for blackmail, she does not know she is pregnant. Kate slept with Jack to say goodbye- which will go awry.
