108 Losties You Need To Know
The season 5 premiere is finally here, tonight at 9pm on ABC.
But before you watch, make sure you’re 100 percent ready and up-to-date. Over at BuddyTV, I just wrote a massive slideshow with 108 Lost characters you need to know. It’s as complete a list as you’ll find about every major and minor character with some quick summaries to refresh your memory about what’s going on.
From Jack to Jacob, from Mr. Friendly to Frogurt, from Horace Goodspeed to Thomas Mittelwerk, remind yourself of all the players who have led us to here, some of whom just may pop up tonight.

Great article, John, though it could benefit from some judicious editing (no offense!), as you keep arbitrarily changing tense from past to present and back again. A good editor should catch that.
You also leave out some characters’ last names, such as Rose, Bernard, Eko and Yemi. And why would you include an incredibly obscure character like Mittlewerk (who will unlikely ever have any impact on the TV show), but not include characters such as Vincent, Hurley’s alter-ego Dave, Seth Norris, Sherrif Isabel, the Smoke Monster and the island itself, all of whom TV viewers are far more likely to have a clue about? And why waste an entry on Jeremy Bentham, instead of mentioning Bentham in the John Locke entry so you can have room for one of the overlooked characters?
I hope you don’t take offense at my post–I greatly enjoyed reading what you wrote. I just wanted to offer my two cents.

My goal was to only use human character, hence the Vincent, Smokey and Island omissions. I almost included Norris, but I kept myself at 108 (for obvious reasons), and I guess I felt there was less of a chance of those characters being relevant to the future of the series. While Mittelwerk probably won’t show up, I feel like the DHARMA-Others-Widmore backstory is very important for hardcore fans who truly want to understand what’s going on, even if it never seems important.
Still, glad you enjoyed it, and sorry about the tense issues. I was feeling quite tense as I wrote it, trying to make sure it was all done before the premiere.

Amazing. Everyone in my office was captivated by this article this morning.
If anyone can help me out; what episodes explain Gary Troup and Cindy Chandler? I think I need to re watch them.
