DirecTV To Air Lost Specials

Lost News — December 21, 2009 at 5:06 pm by John

If you’ve got DirecTV somewhere, you can look forward to watch six Lost specials on The 101 Network on Saturday nights from December 26. While the specials will be based mostly on the episode recaps that aired on ABC over the past years, some never-before-aired elements will be included in the mix, such as DVD extras, behind-the-scenes footage and deleted scenes.

Shannon and Boone’s Back Story Gets Tweaked

Lost News — at 4:57 pm by John

E! Online has revealed that, to cover for Maggie Grace’s non-appearance at the beginning of season 6 - she will, by the way, return later in the season - Lost will push a significant chance to Shannon and Boone’s back story. So, sure, the bomb worked, but I’ll guess they haven’t met at the possible revised time line? That’d be a lot of explaining

Michael Emerson Expects More Lost Recognition Soon

Lost News — December 15, 2009 at 4:41 pm by John

Talking to TV Guide Magazine after earning a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actor, Michael Emerson hinted that the final season of Lost could be the best yet.

“I think next year, after the conclusion of the final season, when people see the strength and style of how we go out, I expect Lost to have more recognition,” he said.

He’s also hinting at strong performance from Terry O’Quinn, and especially for Josh Holloway. “And it’s a great year for [him],” he said. “He just continues to get better and better. His storylines are turning out to be gripping and very moving at the same time.”

Michael Emerson Earns Golden Globe Nom

Lost News — at 6:21 am by John

The Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, and while Lost was left out of many of the major categories, the show did receive one nomination for Michael Emerson in Supporting Actor.

The Golden Globes combine drama, comedy, miniseries and TV movies for the supporting categories, so Emerson’s competition is:

Neil Patrick Garris, How I Met Your Mother

Jeremy Piven, Entourage

William Hurt, Damages

John Lithgow, Dexter

Ben Linus vs. the Trinity Killer?  Now that’s what I call a showdown!

The Best Episodes of 2009

Lost Episodes — December 14, 2009 at 2:25 pm by John

BuddyTV has a list of the 50 best TV episodes of 2009, and it includes not one, not two but THREE episodes from Lost’s fantastic fifth season.  Which episodes?  You’ll have to check it out to see if your three favorite episodes of season 5 made the list.

As a bit of misdirection, I will tell you that the list includes an episode titled “The Incident,” but it’s probably not the one you’re thinking of.

Official Season6 Cast Photos

Lost Cast — December 9, 2009 at 4:52 pm by John

ABC has just released the first official photos for season 6. Yes, they’re cast photos, but it’s still our first real glimpse of Claire’s return.

What can we tell from these photos? Well, a lot of them have their hands on their hips, and many of them look sad or forlorn to me. Basically, I’m not smelling a happy ending for most of the characters.

Anyway, check out the pictures for yourselves and tell us what you think.

The Official Season 6 Cast

Uncategorized — November 19, 2009 at 3:30 pm by John

Along with the premiere date, today also brings the official cast list, meaning we now can confirm which cast members are official series regulars for the final year.

The season 6 cast is:
Naveen Andrews, Nestor Carbonell, Emilie de Ravin, Michael Emerson, Jeff Fahey, Matthew Fox, Jorge Garcia, Josh Holloway, Daniel Dae Kim, Yunjin Kim, Ken Leong, Evangeline Lilly, Terry O’Quinn and Ziuleikha Robinson

In case you forgot, that last woman plays Ilana from Ajira 316.

In other words, the final season has 14 series regulars, just like season 1. However, only 9 of them were around back then.

It also marks the first time Carbonell and Fahey (Richard and Frank) are series regulars, they were always listed as guest stars before.

What do I take away from this? Mostly that, with Carboell, O’Quinn, Fahey, Emerson, Robinson and Yunjin Kim all listed, we will probably still see them on the Island in 2007.

However, the return of de Ravin and the lack of Mitchell and many DHARMA folks suggests to me that all those theories about the bomb working and changing the future so Oceanic 815 lands safely are true.

But then how the heck are Locke and Sun still on the Island? I can’t explain it, except that we may be dealing with weird parallel universes.

‘Lost’ Gets Premiere Date on a New Day

Uncategorized — at 2:51 pm by John

ABC has finally confirmed when Lost will return, and it’s February 2. TUESDAY, February 2.

That’s right, the show is moving once again, this time to land Tuesdays. The February 2 premiere will feature a one-hour recap at 8pm followed by the two-hour premiere, “LAX,” at 9pm.

The next week, the show will settle in to its regular spot Tuesdays at 9pm. The move to Tuesday will most likely mean the show will be paired with V, another sci-fi show that just so happens to star Elizabeth Mitchell.

Lindelof Teases, Plus The First Poster, Only Clearer

Lost News — November 17, 2009 at 5:35 pm by John

Damon Lindelof teased a few details about the final season of Lost:

- On what will be answered: “The questions that count will be answered, and the questions that fans don’t want answered won’t be answered, but I think what they’re looking for is a real sense of resolution, particularly on a character level. Who’s going to live? Who’s going to die? Who’s going to hook up with who? Why were they all brought here in the first place? Was it arbitrary? Is there meaning behind it?”

- On who’s returning to the show: “I do think it’s safe to say that that final season of the show in a lot of ways is a curtain call for all the actors who kind of made these iconic performances and we’re hoping that a lot of them come back for one final appearance.”

- On the possible explanation of what the smoke monster is: “If you do not see a dinosaur by the end of the season premiere of season six I think it will be safe to conclude that the monster is not a dinosaur. But that’s not to say that you won’t see one. I’m just saying you will know.”

Also, ABC has released a bigger version of the first official poster for season 6, and it reveals who the characters on top are. From left to right: Faraday, Boone, Miles, Ana Lucia, Charlotte, Lapidus, Shannon, Desmond, Mr. Eko, Kate, Jack, Sawyer, Locke’s back, Ben, Sayid, Libby, Sun, Jin, Claire, Hurley, Juliet, Charlie, Richard, Bernard, Rose, and that cute little dog, Vincent.
