Josh Holloway to Be a Father
Josh Holloway is going to be a father. The rugged portrayer of Sawyer on Lost and his wife Yessica Kumala are expecting their first child sometime next year. The couple, who got engaged in 2004 after Holloway finished shooting the Lost pilot, live in Hawaii. Yessica, a native of Indonesia, and Holloway officially married in October of 2004, right before Lost premiered to exceptional ratings. The last time we saw Sawyer, he was on the island, whose whereabouts are currently uncertain.
Josh Holloway, at 39 years old, is an actor who is difficult to figure out. He didn’t appear in anything noteworthy before Lost (unless you count a one-off role in a CSI episode) and he hasn’t done anything notable outside of the show since Lost began. Perhaps the interest isn’t there, though his co-star Matt Fox has done a handful of films during Lost’s run. Given the immense popularity of Lost, it may be difficult for Holloway to be anyone but Sawyer. I know, personally, I’d have a hard time thinking of Holloway as anyone but the sarcastic yet lovable con man.
Holloway gives very few interviews, and has never appeared comfortable in the spotlight. With a job like Lost in your back pocket, money not being an issue, that can be enough for some actors. Which, of course, is fine. Acting is demanding and time-consuming, and you can’t begrudge a person who refuses to force himself into work simply because he can. There are countless examples of TV stars taking ill-advised film roles in an attempt to cash in on their TV-fame. The failures in this regard far outnumber the successes. Once Lost ends its run, I could see Holloway becoming a quality character actor. Or, perhaps he’ll just fade away, live in Hawaii and become a family man.

I hope he names it Aaron, that would rule. I think I’ll name my first son Sawyer…Sawyer Locke B*Locke has a nice ring to it.

My guess is he’ll name the kid James, if it’s a boy that is, so then his son would have the same initials as him. Jimmy Holloway… Sounds pretty cool. My other guess is that Josh will pop up in secondary roles in romcoms after Lost is finished for a couple years, or maybe even in a supporting role in a superhero franchise, like say if they actually made Aquaman for real. That’s an idea! He should play himself in a couple of guest spots on Entourage. That’s if it’s still going once Lost is done. Or he could even do it now. Entourage, I imagine, would film primarily in LA so it’s not like he’d have far to travel. But about 5 years after Lost has finished, he’ll be pretty much forgotton.
Same unfortunately with some other actors on Lost, such as Terry O’Quinn and Jorge Garcia. Dominic Monaghan is already on the decline. The only one with a real shot is Matthew Fox, and that’s only because he has that larger audience who would have followed him over from Party of Five. Interesting to see what will happen to Evangeline Lilly. She could move into the big leagues, but she’d need a “Dark Knight” or “Spiderman” to do it.

Does Juliette have a new rack in these promo pics??? She is amazing! I wouldn’t let her leave the island either! Evangeline is smoking as well! Maybe after next season we can have the cast travel back to the 70’s and film a new D.I. video - Boogie Nights 2 Island Fever!
