Season 5 Predictions
There were a ton of questions at the end of season 4. So many questions, in fact, I doubt I can remember them all. All along the producers have been saying they had a plan. They knew what the island was, why the survivors were there, and how they were going to end it all. I seriously doubt all of the questions I have gathered in the past couple of years will be answered, but I hope the major things are cleared up. All along there has been a theme of good and evil. This eternal struggle. Past vs present vs future, good vs. evil, black vs white (what the hell was up with those backgammon pieces?), dreams vs. reality, Sawyer vs. Jack, Locke vs. Jack… the list goes on and on. Sometimes I think Lost is trying to answer the very question of life itself. Other times, I’m not sure it even knows what questions it’s trying to answer. But whatever it might be, however frustrated we might get, we hope that things will become clearer. We hope that the clues we have gathered obsessively over the years will mean something in the end. So, we’ve had 4 years to think about it. We’ve had 4 years to ponder the many questions of LOST.
So, I invite you to send me your best guesses. I’ve been reading the comments and I think it’d be a great idea. Send me your theories, predictions, quandaries. Here are some season 5 questions posted by B*Locke.
Where did the island disappear to?
When is the island?
How are the Oceanic-6 going to get back?
Is Sun on the side of the Oceanic-6?
Is Jin dead?
How is Locke going to Die?
What happened to Faraday since he was neither on nor very far from the island?
What’s up with Claire and the cabin?
Was Charlotte was born on the island? When? How?
Why is Ben all of a sudden teaming up with the good guys?
How are they going to get Locke to the island?
So - send your theories to kim[@]buddytv.com. If you bring up some good questions or have an awesome prediction or idea, I’ll post it. And then all I ask is that you discuss the theories sent in politely. People are putting themselves and their ideas out there, so let’s be respectful.

1. a different location, god knows where, maybe north atlantic?
2. dharma days
3. i reckon theyll use an outside dharma station
4. i think shes being a sort of doiuble agent, currently on widmores side, but if/when she learns that jin is alive, then shell go back to the O6’s side.
5. alive
6. commits suicide cos he most likely wont be able to walk again
7. he moved with the island
8. god knows…
9. parents were dharma people…most likely concieved off island
10. because he’s doing it for the island, and he always WAS a ‘good guy’
11. theyll carry the coffin??
pondering question 11 - perhaps christian ‘needed to get back to the island’…he was dead, in a coffin, and yet when they found the coffin, it was empty…
Comment by Philoceanic — November 13, 2008 @ 12:38 am
I agree mostly with Philoceanic’s answers. A few differences though:
4. Sun knows that Widmore is the best chance to get back to the island where she believes Jin is at. She learns Widmore and her father are connected somehow and is trying to leverage that relationship to get back to the island.
6. It seems that there are 3 competing teams off-island this season. First, there’s the O6 team + Ben, then Widmore/Sun/Locke/Abaddon, and finally the Dharma Initiative team who most likely has presence off-island. Perhaps 2 of these teams end up on the same side in the end, but I predict a race to get back to the island with casualties along the way (ie, Locke).
8. Claire died last season and has been spending her days hanging out with her dad (Christian) and her son Aaron who grows up to be Jacob…
Comment by THinIL — November 13, 2008 @ 5:29 am
1. I have no idea.
2. It doesn’t make sense if it went backwards in time because it would still exist in the present, but that is my guess as to when it went.
3. Use the Dharma station to find the island and then go there.
4. Not right now, but she will be.
5. Nope. He is alive.
6. I think he’ll be killed by someone, one of the bad guys presumably.
7. He was moved, maybe not necessarily with the island.
8. She’s dead or something.
9. Yes. Parents were dharma
10. Was always a “good guy,” we just didn’t know it.
11. Put his coffin in the cargo of the plane and hope he pulls a Christian?
Comment by Eric — November 13, 2008 @ 5:35 am
Eric, i agree it wouldnt make sense unless it was in a different location in the past and is subsequently moved to the position we’ve grown used to?
Comment by Philoceanic — November 13, 2008 @ 5:53 am
1. The island is in the same place. It just can’t be seen and you can’t reach it without some coordinates. Those used to be 305 or 325, but have since changed.
2. When is pretty obvious from the teasers. The Dharma days.
3. Ben has “some ideas”. Beyond that, I have no idea. I believe in an interview it was noted the the sole outside Dharma station was not the means to get back.
4. Sun is on her own side, just as she always has been. She is an expert liar and is probably using Widmore to get back to the island.
5. Jin is probably dead, but on LOST, that is relative. He will still show up “in some form or another”.
6. Locke will be killed. I don’t think he is the suicidal type. Sayid was very sarcastic when he said “they said he committed suicide”. I can’t wait to see the life and death of Jeremy Bentham.
7. Faraday was apparently close enough to the island to be pulled back with the other islanders (ie. Sawyer, Juliet, Miles, Rose, Bernard and Charlotte).
8. Claire is dead for sure. So many clues on that from Miles (can I help you carry the baby? I’m good with kids -or- when he was looking at her funny and Sawyer gave him a restraining order -or- when Miles let her walk away with her “dad”). Not to mention, Claire, leaving the baby in a tree for Sawyer to find. Claire (alive) would never, ever do that.
9. I agree with the above. Charlotte was born to Dharma, conceived off island.
10. Ben has always been a “good guy”, although I use that term very loosely. He believes that the means justify the ends.
11. Same way Christian came to the island, which brings me to another interesting point. When Claire appeared to Kate and said, don’t bring him back Kate and when Charlie appeared to Hurley and told him to tell Jack that he wasn’t supposed to “raise him”, I don’t think they were talking about Aaron, I think they were talking about Locke. If Locke comes back, he will be “raised” from the dead, and I think his time may be up. Notice Ben’s comment regarding fate, “It’s a fickle bee with an itch”.

I’ve said it before on this site. My theory is that Ben and Sayid knew each other before the island and when Sayid gets shot and goes to the vet’s office and sees Ben it was a flashback not a flashforward.
Comment by The — November 13, 2008 @ 11:10 am
That was not a FB. Sayid tells the man on the gulf course that he’s a survivor of Oceanic 815 right before he shoots him.
Comment by BobW — November 13, 2008 @ 12:24 pm
I am SO glad someone else thought that Claire and Charlie were talking about Locke and not Aaron. I thought i was just falling into some kind of Lost theory paranoia.
I also agree that the island didn’t physically move, just the way to get there was changed.

all i want to know is how did ben know about that the place where you can move the island but the dharma didnt know about the place?
Comment by robert — November 16, 2008 @ 12:12 pm
What I want to know is why none of the promised new content has been posted yet. This site is just as inactive as it was under Don’s management.
Comment by Bill Williams — November 16, 2008 @ 2:00 pm
1. The island is moved. It is where it was in season 1. It moved in season 1. Everyone missed that. When Desmond turned the key outside and the island morphed.
2.No clue.
3. Oceanic 6 does not exist yet. That is all a flash-forward.
4. Sun is on the side of Oceanic 6. She is using him to get back to the island cause she is stupid. She thinks Jin is alive.
5. Jin is for sure dead.
6. Locke has been dead. I think he is the first of these apparent Zombies coming to LOST.
7. He is a villager for life.
8. Claire is dead.
9. Charlotte is Dharma Family.
10. Ben is not teaming with the good gise. He is a con artist. He uses everyone to help him accomplish anything. He is perceived to be so powerful like a wizard, but people fail to see what it takes for him to make things happen. Everything he has done, he really didn’t do himself. He is actually the weakest character on the island.
11. Locke is everywhere. He’s like a spirit or zombie or supernatural. I don’t know. That car accident should’ve killed that guy. But he popped up like gumby or plasticman or a supernatural.
Comment by Mike — November 17, 2008 @ 3:22 am
1. Circa 2007/08/09/10
2. See above (as Phil stated earlier it wouldn’t make sense if it went backwards in time because it would still exist in the present).
3. Wasn’t the rumour that they (with who exactly “they” are meant to be still up for interpretation) all have to go to DHARMA stations located at different places around the world to like teleport, or something, back to the island.
4. She’s ultimately with the O6, but playing Widmore, and her father, as a way to help get back to the island so she can find Jin. What about the scene from Part 1 of the season 4 finale where Paik and his cronies are talking about the five different banks and so on. The O6 know exactly what is going on with Ben, Widmore and the island, and I think the reason for this is because Penny filled them in on it when they boarded her boat in the week before travelling to Membata.
5. No (as recent reports have suggested). The question now is how did he survive? My guess is that a former dead character will play a significant role in how Jin survived.
6. This could be anything. Let’s just say he got pushed out of a window. By his mother. No, I don’t know, Widmore’s got to have something to do with it.
7. I think the safest answer is that Faraday and the red shirts moved with the island. Even if the Zodiac didn’t move with the island, it couldn’t have been too far from where the helicopter went in. So if it didn’t move why didn’t they come to help the O6 when they crashed into the water?
8. The idea of Claire being dead is plausible and probably what’s going on with her. If this is the case, then my only question is: Why could Sawyer, Hurley, Locke and Ben see her and talk to her after she got blown up and before she ran off with Christian to the cabin?
9. This is a hard one in that we’ve seen nothing of Charlotte’s back story other than that she found Polar bear bones and a DHARMA collar in the Tunisian desert. This, however, is presumedly the same place Ben popped up at after he turned the donkey wheel, so there’s no major mystery here. My guess is she’s somehow related to the Goodspeeds.
10. Simply, so he can get back to the island. Still too early to comment on whether or not Ben’s a good guy or a bad guy. He’s both.
11. Carry him. Drive him in the back of a station wagon. Wheel him around on a dolly. I don’t know, is this really important?
Anyway, there you go.

1. I think the Island is still there. perhaps just in another time.
2.The island is between times on its on plane.
3.an off-island hatch that has some sort of portal
4.Sun is on whatever side will get her back to Jin
5.How many people in the show have REALLY stayed dead?
6.Time will catch up with him and he will have a heart attack or something like that.
7.stuck in the dingy in the middle of the ocean with no island.
8.Claire died when the house exploded but since no one really stays dead…
9. The Island dissapeared once before when Charolette was off the island
10. He wants to go back to the island
11. Put him in a sack like he did to his old man

1) Where did the island disappear to?
Still in the Pacific, just somewhere different.
2) When is the island?
It jumped 10 months into the future. Ben turned the wheel in December of 2004 and landed in Tunisia in October of 2005. I think the Island made the same time jump.
3) How are the Oceanic-6 going to get back?
Plane-Crash?
4) Is Sun on the side of the Oceanic-6?
Right now she’s on her own side. She’ll eventually go along with them.
5) Is Jin dead?
No. He didn’t learn all that English to die before he could use it.
6) How is Locke going to Die?
Widmore.
7) What happened to Faraday since he was neither on nor very far from the island?
I think this was answered in episode 1.
no idea.
9) Was Charlotte was born on the island? When? How?
She was Ben’s little friend from school that gave him the dolls.
10) Why is Ben all of a sudden teaming up with the good guys?
He’s still in it for himself and using them as always.
11) How are they going to get Locke to the island?
Coffin in baggage.
