Reading the Lost Book List in Three Months Flat
Okay folks. I’ve been reading your comments and from what I gather, we’re all getting a little punchy during this annual Lack of Lost. It’s been a struggle, I’ll freely admit. I’ve enjoyed the opening of Fall TV, but there’s just that big gaping void in enjoyable television. I tried to fill it with Fringe, but that hasn’t worked. That Other Show on Monday nights that some of my friends tell me is just as good, if not better than Lost made me extra angry when they killed David Anders without batting an eye. So I chased down That Other Show with at least 3 episodes of Alias. This worked to get the bitter taste out, but watching such a great JJ Abrams show makes me miss Lost all the more.
It’s quite a quandary.
But seriously folks, the recent news that Lost will be back in two months is great news! Still, though, I understand. We Lost fans are a patient lot, but we can only take so much. So, in order to pass the time, I’m going to attempt to read as many books on the ABC book list as possible. As I read (and in some cases re-read) these stories, explicate their role in the overreaching Lost mythology ,and add my own two cents into what in the world could possibly be happening on this show, I’m sure the time fly by and January will be here before we know it.
Stay tuned for Book 1: Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
The Librarian

Heart of Darkness? Now THAT is a great book. My favorite book that I’ve read from the book list however is by far Stranger in a Strange Land. That book has become a staple in my library.

Heart of Darkness? Why would you want to read Dick Cheney’s autobiography?

Ah yes, passing the time in between new Lost seasons is indeed a difficult task. I’ve been reading Doc Arzts book “Lost Ate My Life”, which isn’t all that long but still a very good and interesting read. But as far as filling in the tv gap I’ve been watching Heroes (which is MUCH better this season than last), The 4400 which is a very underrated gem of a program once you get past the first season that is, and of course Dexter. Let me tell ya’ll if you’re a fan of Lost, which being here proves you more than likely are, then you HAVE TO watch Dexter, Heroes, and at least try watching The 4400. It might not be your guys’ thing but they are my favorite “Lost-like” serial shows.
By the way for anyone that has been watching Heroes this season, they stole the whole “superpowers in a shot” idea from The 4400, so if you like that then check it out.
