What’s Ben’s Master Plan?
How does Ben plan to get everyone back to the island in season 5, and exactly who does "everyone" consist of anyway? Those are some of the big questions that Lost will likely answer in its season premiere. Kristin from E!Online spoke to Evangeline Lilly and Michael Emerson about Ben’s master plan, and here’s her write up about it:
"I asked Evangeline Lilly yesterday at the Emmys, and she told me, ‘Hmmm? Is Ben’s plan’s coming together? Is Ben’s plan comprehensible is the question? Can anyone make sense of Benjamin Linus?’ Ah, sounds like a classic Lost brainteaser! I also ran into Michael Emerson at the HBO party (he and his wife Carrie Preston are an adorable couple BTW) and asked him how Ben was going to get everyone to go along, and he said, ‘Oh, it’s not a question of why they should go along, it’s a question of do they want to survive.’"
Do they want to survive? Interesting. Either the island has bad things in store for those not willing to return, or Ben has some malicious tricks up his sleeve. I’m guessing it’s the latter, since the island seems intent on keeping certain people alive.

Wow…no one’s responding to any of the recent attempts at posting content. Tough room.

Not sure to what to make of Ben’s master plan, I’m guessing he will use some empty, yet well-thought out threats to get them back. Kate is clearly going to be the toughest sell with Aaron, that will be an intriguing storyline to follow.

So it’s not a question of if they want to go back so much as if they want to survive? That brings to mind visions of Widmores men or possibly Dharma dudes (who might be one and the same) chasing down our Oceanic folks while off island. I suppose they want to know where the island is but right now none of the off island people know where it is, or maybe Locke told one of them? Since all of them are starting to become connected to Ben in Widmores eyes then i suppose they’re all the enemy and therefore disposable. Sayid works for Ben, Hurley is with Sayid, Jack wants back and needs Ben to help, Sun is hopefully setting up Widmore (I HOPE) and not working with him, and Kate/Aaron have to get swept up in all of this somehow.
On a sidenote: I was just pondering the time GhostClaire told Kate “Don’t bring him back”. She could very well be talking about anyone right there of course. We’re sort of lead to believe she’s talking about Aaron, I kind of thought she might be talking about Locke or even Ben.
What ya’ll have to say ’bout that?

If I were Ben I would be trying to use Hurley to get back to the island. If Ben had heard anything about the visions that Hurley has been having then he might feel that Hurley has been chosen. As a chosen one, the island will draw Hurlye back, so if Ben cann hitch a ride with anyone it would be Hurley. As for why he would need “everyone”, perhaps that is just to concive Hurley to want to go back.
I dunno, I’ll admit that’s a pretty weak theory, but it’s all I can come up with at the moment.
