‘Lost’ Not Shown Any Emmy Love
I can’t be mad at the Emmys this year. The notoriously inconsistent awards show handed out trophies to Mad Men, 30 Rock, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin and Bryan Cranston, among others. They got a lot of things right, but unfortunately they didn’t give Lost a single award. The series was up for 8 trophies and left empty handed. I think the most egregious snub was passing over Michael Emerson in the Best Supporting Actor category. Zeljko Ivanek from Damages walked away with the award instead.
What did you think of the Emmys this year? Wouldn’t it have been much better if Ricky Gervais had hosted? Let’s hope that Lost’s fifth season is fantastic enough to garner some nominations. Maybe next year will be the one for Emerson.

This is BS…I just don’t get it. The only thing i can think of is that the emmy panel just doesn’t get LOST when they sit down and watch some random episode.

The Emmy Awards are meaningless and political. It doesn’t matter who wins.

FYI. LOST did win the Outstanding Sound Mixing award for Meet Kevin Johnson in the Creative Emmys. Small consolation, though.
Anyhoo… Michael Emerson was ROBBED, ROBBED, ROBBED, ROBBED!

Look, I admit that LOST’s Season 4 was an improvement over the second half of Season 2 and most of Season 3. But it simply was not better than MAD MEN . . . or even DAMAGES.
As for Michael Emerson losing . . . frankly, I do not know whether or not he was robbed.

I’m with the first guy. I doubt the emmy panel “got” the show if they haven’t watched the ENTIRE SHOW. Which, I think Lost got snubbed to promote other TV shows that haven’t gotten much coverage.
Mad Men…come on.
At least the loyal supporters of Lost tune in and watch. *I* personally think the award shows are all set up to promote ratings and such.
If someone says “HEY…this new show won an Emmy..” people tune it. Lost doesn’t need the extra support but to realized and rewarded would have been great.
