Third Dharma Test Now Online

Dharma Wants You sluggishly continues today with a third assessment test appearing online. The test was announced via e-mail (which you can see below) early this morning and is meant to evaluate dexterity and attentiveness and involves using your mouse to control a Dharma logo and avoid several moving spheres and the walls. According to Lostpedia, typing in "lento" will allow you to cheat by slowing down the spheres. You can also speed up the spheres by typing in "allegro."
Like the second test, this test splits users into different groups upon completing the test. This time the groups takes their names from Giants of Greek mythology instead of Cyclopes. The groups are Antaeus, Enceladus, Tityos, and Otus.

What kind of idiot producer puts 9 months in between seasons anyway? I can produce a baby in that time frame. Bahh! Sadly Lost is the only TV show I can actually sit through. Maybe I’ll watch the new season of Survivor and pretend that the castaways are on the Lost island, hoping Smokey pops out at every turn. Or better yet, why doesn’t ABC make a competitor to Survivor based on LOST lore. Then we’d have something to watch, not the same as Lost, but it’s better than trolling dead sites. Amirite’?

This site is pissing me off! This is the site that I came too as a “lost” sapling. I grew in my love for the show through this site. I have checked the site daily for the past year. I know that many of you have come here for longer, but I must confess that I did not start watching lost until I rented the complete series last summer. I, too, think that the administrators have given up on the site. I may stop visiting altogether. But I have to admit that all would be forgiven if they would just start posting some content, even if it were just our voice content. Anything to help the months past faster…

Loop, if you want some original content, send some in. If you create an article that consists of more that just the words “where’s the original content?”, then perhaps the site’s administrators will consider posting it, and I can guarantee you there will be an ample amount of response. Simply complaining that nobody else is taking this initiative, when you refuse to do so yourself, is hypocrisy at it’s finest… not the mention the move of a complete moron. You seriously got nothing better to do with your time dude?
In addition, I understand that the ‘Your Voice’ segments are not the only thing other than links that can be posted on this site. LOST is, however, in hiatus, albeit an extremely long hiatus, so it’s not beyond the realm of possibility that any news about the show is going to be kept secret until later in the year, especially considering the amount of spoiler activity that it has had to contend with. So, why not, as an alternative, create your own forum of discussion to keep ya’ll busy in the meantime. I mean, that’s why I come to sites like these, to hear the ideas and theories of fellow fans, not to find out how much money Matthew Fox is getting paid. But when you’re getting neither, and then people like Loop continually whine about it, without actually doing something about it, I can’t help but simply laugh at you and call you a moron. And before you ask where my original article is, it’s called ‘Is 48 Enough?’

Dan, do you work for this site or are you just defending it because you think it just that great? The Dark UFO site constantly has new content and is just alaround better than this site.There is nothing wrong with a Lost fan stating that they are upset with the quality. The worst thing that could happen is whoever runs the site will read these complaints and try to make the site better. The only reason I come here is because it’s the only Lost site I can access during my breaks at work.
As far as the Hiatus goes, that is a reason for there to be less original content but not as little as this site provides. It’s all recycled junk that is posted 2 days after you can find it elsewhere. For everyone wanting a quality Lost fan site check out Dark UFO. Like someone else posted earlier he has tons of new theories being posted almost daily, a great spoiler and rumor section, and is currently following the new ARG very closely. It really is the best site to visit to stay up to date. The site has many other features too, screen caps, mysteries, answers ect but I don’t have the initiative to list them all. Truth be told I am suprised that people even come to this site when they have the abilty to go elsewhere.

Sorry, Dan, but that’s ridiculous. Other sites post news and information on a regular basis, hiatus notwithstanding. If they actually gave a damn, they’d post it. As for “Your Voice,” I know for a fact that they’ve received a number of submissions but simply stopped posting them. As for why you singled me out, I’m not sure, given that many people here are complaining, not just me.

Okay folks, since the site is dead we have to keep ourselves busy here. For the sake of throwing something out there to discuss:
Is Christian Sheppard alive or an island spirit when he goes to visit Jack at the hospital in the flash forwards? If the island went back in time couldn’t they have taken Christian from the past and sent him to the future to convince Jack to come back? Of course how we explain the Christian that was with Claire? Spirit or real? If spirit that would work, but if he was real. Making this up as I go along, this thought popped in: If he did go to the future and finds out how or when he is supposed to die (perhaps he was supposed to die on Oceanic), when he returns to his time he becomes a drunkard to deal with the pain of knowing when he will die. Maybe Aaron is tied in somehow and he goes to Australia the final time to tell Claire she should keep the baby, but of course dies before finding her. And maybe with time travel you don’t retain the exact knowledge you have attained while in a different period, but it eventually comes back at once years later which could explain Farradays weird sense of deja vu in Season 4 episode 1? Anyways, better than no new content, right?

I just wish Don or some other administrator would at least give SOME explanation of what the hell happened to this site. Other than a few links here and there, there’s been NOTHING posted for months, and Don has completely stopped responding to follow-ups. Why? It’s no wonder a lot of people (certainly not just Loop, who has been quite polite about it, despite what Dan says) are complaining about it.

First of all to DeGroots:
Wining would be the act of fermenting wine, or it can also be a term used to entertain others involving the drinking of wine. Are you sure that was the word you wanted to use to describe all of us?
Now on to what I really want to say. You’ve got a good idea there. We can make the most of this site despite the lack of assistance from or original content. That was a very good question regarding Christian. I do think he is dead but as Darlton has stated, dead is a relative term on Lost. I think that he had to die and come back to the island to take on whatever for he now has much like Locke has died and now needs to be brought back to the island. I think it is safe to assume that he has been on the island before. Maybe whatever he experienced during that time is what caused him to pick up that nasty drinking habit. I also feel that it’s possible he had the role that Locke took up after Ben pushed the wheel. It is possible that whoever the island chooses for this position has to make a sacrifice of their lives and then the island brings them back in that ghost like form so that they can complete whatever it is that they are destined to do. What is that destiny though? I certainly have no idea. We all know that Ben lost favor with Jacob at some point. Maybe this is because he was not willing to make that sacrifice. Then Jacob, being the clever entity that he is, went to his secondary protocol and brought John Locke to the island.
On a side note I don’t trust Jacob. I think, if my loose theory is close to being right, that Ben was right for not doing what Jacob wanted. Maybe whatever mistake Locke made that caused all the trouble on the island after it moved is due to him following Jacob’s orders.
What does everyone else think?

What if Christian was on the island before and he turned the wheel and his banishment led to his drinking/self destruction? It seems to parallel flashforward Jack a bunch. I mean Christian was a doctor and Dharma or the others may have needed smart guys like him and Ethan on the island.
Has anyone stated on the show that Annie is actually dead? I’m inclined to say that Ben did not let her get purged, but he also would have avenged her death if someone had killed her based on his reaction to Alex’s death. So either he helped get her off the island and maybe that is why he fell out of favor with Jacob at some point or she had to die during childbirth on the island. If she did die on the island I would expect Ben to be able to see or communicate with her. So this is the conundrum for why she may be alive off the island. Given the Penelope/Desmond reunion, I think a Ben/Annie love reunion would go over really well.

But I’ve been coming to this site for about two years now and ever since the Doc left everyone seems to think that complaining and attacking each other is a better thing to do than actually discuss Lost on a Lost website. no one has ever said Annie was dead, but it kind of seems like that’s how things went down. Now I’m going out on a limb saying this but I’ve always kind of thought a good way for the Annie story to go would be a Ben flashback (of course) centering around Ben and Annies courtship and Annie possibly being the first pregnant woman on the island to die for whatever reason, maybe Jacobs doing. Which would explain Bens obsession with the whole killer fetus problem as said by Richard to Locke on the hilltop by the makeshift Others camp.

Bluto: I don’t think that they have ever said that Annie is officially dead. I think we are meant to assume it by the way that Ben longingly looked at that wooded doll she gave him. My theory is that Ben thinks something happened to her, although the big surprise will be that she is still alive, and that has led him to make certain decisions. I think it may have something to do with his obsession regarding pregnant woman on the island. Maybe he got her knocked up. I personally don’t consider this a spoiler, but just in case some may want to avert their eyes; the kid that played young Ben will be in the upcoming season so hopefully we will get our answers soon.
I think that you could be correct in regards to Christian drinking due to leaving the island after pushing the wheel. I also think that is why Widmore has to have the bottle of Scotch by his bed to cope with the nightmares. I’ve got more to say but alas my break is coming to an end.
BTW: You need to cool off a bit DeGroots. I was mostly having a little fun at your expense as you have been getting so worked up. I wasn’t trying to be rude but I’m sorry if your feelings were hurt. Calm down and join the discussion.
I would like to point out that this site is getting progressively worse as time passes. The 4th Dharma test has been out for close to a week plus the ARG is having people submit their own tests. A lot is going on and the most recent news here is 2 weeks old.

I say we all take some initiative and think of ways to have fun with this site despite the fact that it is on it’s last leg. We have a good start with the discussions so we should definately keep that up. If anyone has a topic that interests them feel free to mention it and we can keep this party going. We are limited in what we can do here, due to that fact that we don’t run the site but if any one else has any ideas on how we can use this site to it’s full potential you should add those thoughts as well. I know there are better sites out there where everything is laid out for us but as I have mentioned before this is the only one I can go to while at work. Plus I hate to see a site that was once one of my favs fall apart like this. Maybe we can bring it back to life somehow if we get creative. If not we can at least have a small clan of fans who will continue to come here and discuss all things lost. The bad thing about the good sites is there are so many people visiting them that it is hard to get your thoughts heard.

I just don’t know why people can’t just talk about Lost, like on all the other Lost websites. I don’t know if you people ever go to DarkUfo, but it is NOT like that over there, people respect eachother and respect the site (obviously because there is ALWAYS new content, but that’s beside the point). If you look back through the archives on this site to the time when Doc switched over management to the new guys all anyone did was complain about how they weren’t as good as the Doc and how it was pathetic that they called themselves Lost experts. I remember one of them, I believe it was Don, made a post that explained that he was merely a casual fan of the show and was by no means an “expert” so we shouldn’t expect him to be as good as the Doc in that respect. They tried to live up to Docs image but those were big shoes to fill and all anyone did was bitch about everything they posted until they just stopped posting. Then the fan made articles came around I’m sure because they thought the fans could make better articles than they could, but then all everyone did was argue with eachother, so HERE WE ARE GUYS!! Stuck with nothing to feed our fixes because some of you decided the new guys weren’t good enough!!

Sorry i’m making so many posts I just feel as if I need to explain myself before TOO MANY people start assuming i’m just being a dick for no reason (like some of you already have).
Like Geronimo pointed out, this place is pretty much ours now, as Sawyer once so eloquently said “it’s Lord of the Flies time now”, it’s a free-for-all and it’s up to us to at least keep the posts interesting or this place is just gonna be a bunch of posts complaining about how there’s no new content (much like it already is). I don’t want to contribute to all the complaining (like I’ve been doing), I just feel like those of you that just tear this place down and contribute nothing should just go away. HOWEVER, those of you that are actually talking Lost and being reasonable about all this…THANK YOU for visiting. Remember it’s not the sites fault, it’s mostly a few bad apples taking away the site creators ambition to do something with this place.
sorry to those that assumed I was targeting them, the site is dying, that’s obvious, I just don’t like those of you that come here day after day bringing up the fact and cluttering up the boards.
