New Web Series Starring Francois Chau
Gone are the days when content made exclusively for the web starred no-name actors and was done on a miniscule budget. Joss Whedon’s recent online musical, Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, did a lot to wipe away the perception that online content is somehow lesser than that made for other mediums. In other words, just because it goes straight to the web doesn’t mean it’s terrible.
That being said, I have no idea if the new sci-fi web series called Gemini Division will be any good, but it has attracted some big stars. The series stars the awesome Rosario Dawson (Sin City), Smallville’s Justin Hartley, Kevin Alejandro (Ugly Betty) and Lost’s Francois Chau (Dr. Marvin Candle / Pierre Chang).
According to Wikipedia, "Gemini Division is about an NYC detective investigating the murder of her fiance. During the investigation she uncovers a global conspiracy involving the creation of simulated life forms that have assimilated with the unsuspecting public."
The series will consist of 50 five to seven minute webisodes, with the first kicking off this Monday, August 18 at GeminiDivision.com. If you need your Pierre Chang fix before Lost comes back in 2009, this is an easy way to get it.
