Entertainment Weekly Dishes on Two New Characters
Scoop-master Michael Ausiello at Entertainment Weekly recently unveiled descriptions of two new characters who will be joining Lost in season 5. These characters will be brought in on a recurring basis, with the option of returning in season 6. Casting is currently underway. The descriptions are spoilery of course, so only read on if you dare:
First up is Caesar, a dangerous, physical and extremely intelligent male between the ages of 35 and 45. Although his intentions are unclear, this much is certain: He’s as skillful at charming people as he is at killing them. He also has a dark past, but, c’mon, that much was a given.
The other newbie is Ilanna, a European female in her late 20s to early 30s who possesses great intelligence, but who’s also dangerous as all get out. She’s alluring and apparently used to getting her own way.
What does it all mean?! Don’t ask me, ask Jeff Jensen! Better yet, I will:
"Caesar, eh? My mind immediately links to Planet of the Apes. Caesar was the primate that led his fellow apes in a revolt against their human slavers. So… remember when Ben made that cryptic reference last season to an Other that preceded him in leadership? The “Hostile” who ordered the gassing of the Dharma Initiative, a.k.a. “The Purge”? Assuming that dude ain’t Jacob, could he be this “Caesar”? As for Ilanna, she sounds exactly like the kind of lethal lady Sayid would fall for. So I’m wondering if the dashing Iraqi is due for a new love interest, yet another lady whose true motivations will be in question."

Enough with the infrequent links and excerpts–where’s the original content?

That should be Conquest of the Planet of the Apes.

Why didn’t they call them Dharma and Greg?

So, this would be my very second TTS post ever.
i agree with Bro.
good lookin out, nunya! now i dont have to mention it.
LOL mr mead!
come on, Ceasar is the failed leader of the others? thats too obvious, even for LOST. It was probably jacob who called for the purge. and… im just putting it out here, maybe Locke is Jacob?
I mean, im sure theres like 300 different theory pages on this, and a complex equation stating how its possible, but i just finished the first and second seasons, and am on the third, on up through ‘the brig’. after watching all these in rapid succession, the clues seem a little obvious.
lets be serious here. have any of the startling(?) revelations in this series been THAT startling? I have to again call attention to the dead man switch on Keamy’s arm. after that episode, how many ridiculous theories flooded the internet? and it just turned out to be exactly what we thought it was in the first place, and what the show clearly pointed to.
all im saying is that this is prime-time TV, people. as much as we want it to be a sonic device used to repel smokey, it was just a bomb trigger. its NEVER going to be too complicated. as much as we want ji yeon and aaron to be adam and eve, itll probably be jack & kate. and as much as we want jacob to be God or Aaron or Santa Claus, it’ll be the most obvious candidate, which I believe to be Locke.

“as much as we want jacob to be God or Aaron or Santa Claus, it’ll be the most obvious candidate, which I believe to be Locke.”
That’s a shame. I was really hoping he’d be Santa.

I’d think the most obvious candidate would be… a guy named Jacob.
