Damon and Carlton Talk ‘Lost’ Season 5
Between the Television Critics Press Tour that kicked off last week and the San Diego Comic-Con goodness happening in a few days, it’s a good time for TV news. Lost showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse recently appeared at the ABC panel for the press tour, and E!Online’s Kristin had this to report:
• Over on Lost, when asked about how they would manage the split casts next season (with some on the Island and some off), Damon Lindelof said, "We have that [issue] intensely in mind." He said that they find that separating characters geographically and emotionally is a valuable storyline tool for them, but they’re aware that they can only do that for so long before audiences get impatient.
• Damon and Carlton also were asked about diversity issues, with an implied reference to Harold Perrineau’s speculation about how race might have played a role Michael’s death, and Damon said, "The show has to be an equal-opportunity murderer…We’ve killed a lot of white people. And I can almost guarantee we will be killing more white people this season."
• When pressed on their plan for season five of Lost, Damon said, "This is a tricky year for us. This is like The Two Towers [portion of The Lord of the Rings saga]…it links us to the final season…We’ve known a lot of what we want to do there [in the final season] for a long time, but the challenge is how do we make this season engaging and exciting. The worst thing we could ever do on the show is for the show to be boring…If we’re going to be bad, we’re going to be spectacularly bad."

They seem to imply that there’s only going to be two more seasons. I hope that’s not true!

I believe they submitted the fourth season premiere, possibly because it was the easiest to follow.

Again with ‘The Constant’. It was a good episode, but for mine the best and most dramatic two episodes, of the way too short fourth season, would have to go to ‘The Shape of Things to Come’ and ‘Cabin Fever’. If Michael Emerson dosen’t win his Emmy for ‘Shape’ then the people who are responsible for deciding who does win should be admitted to Santa Rosa Mental Institution.

Does anyone know if this site has gone on a hiatus or something? There’s hardly anything new posted anymore–just an occasional link to something else. What happened to all the interviews, analysis and other original content this site used to regularly offer? Is it on hold for a bit? Or is that era of the site done? I hope it’s the former–I’d be very disappointed if the current inactive state of the site was how it was going to be from now on.

The content on this site has gone DRASTICALLY downhill since Doc left. Most of what is on here is taken from other sites and I would MUCH rather visit DarkUFO’s site since his stuff is at least a lot more new and up to date

I heard only people with cable will only be able to watch Lost season 5, because it isn’t going to be on abc anymore. Is that true? If so that sucks you will have a lot of pisted of fans. Where I live I’m out of cable distric but have watch the first four season. Someone please let me know.

Totally false…even though it’s not getting the ratings like in season 1 and 2…it still brings in 11 million or more every week(plus the dvr numbers)which is still money in the bank for abc…
