See Nestor Carbonell in ‘The Dark Knight’
I was lucky enough to attend a press screening of The Dark Knight a few days ago, and like just about every other person on the planet I thought it was completely amazing. You can read my full review of the film by clicking here if you like.
One thing I didn’t expect to see was Richard Alpert himself, aka Nestor Carbonell, playing Gotham City’s mayor. He plays a fairly important role in the film and gets a decent amount of screen time, so I suggest checking out the movie if you need a fix of a familiar Lost actor during the long hiatus. I also recommend heading to the discount theater to see Matthew Fox in the surprisingly fun Speed Racer, though I may be alone on that one.

Yes, it was very exciting to see Richard in the new Batman (which I saw at midnight). Me and a couple other kids in my group had the same reaction at the same time when he first appeared. I even said “He hasn’t aged!” which made a few people in the theater laugh and probably confused a lot more.
Also, when the Chinese boss was talking to the mob via video-feed, I couldn’t help but be reminded of Dr Marvin Candle’s orientation tapes, and my friends also made the same connection.
Great film, best of the year so far and I doubt it will be surpassed in the next 6 months either. Definitely check it out.
And just so you know, I also loved Speed Racer. In fact, I saw it a few days after Iron Man and enjoyed it considerably more than Iron Man.

LMAO, I had the same “He hasn’t aged” thought. The most disturbing part of him is that the dark eye liner that he always has on in Lost was worn in the Batman movie which leads me to believe this guy has the darkest and thickest eye lashes in the world, creepy.

Just saw Dark Knight with my wife, and really enjoyed it tho’ it seemed a bit long and drawn out. The Joker was incredibly evil, interesting, and fun as hyped. Batman was a bit weak, reminding me of 007 Pierce, and the smart & sexy squeeze was not so sexy or smart. Also immediately thought that Richard Alpert doesn’t seem to age, and he fit his mayor role very well … am expecting a deeper Gotham mayor role for him in the future, most likely with “Two Face”.
Didn’t see Speed Racer, but by far, no competition in my mind … Iron Man still rules!

Where are the articles? This site has just become a collection of news flashes and links. Where are the analysis? The character studies? The theories? This site used to be relevant and significant to Lost fans–now it’s a shadow of what it once was. And before anyone says “So submit an article,” that’s missing the point–the readers didn’t have to supply the content before the current management came in. The previous management actually WROTE content. I miss those days. I miss what this site once was.

I was pleasantly surprised to see Richard! He is mysterious wherever he appears b/c of Lost. I heard someone complain about his eyeliner in the theatre, but I’m not sure he wears it. He is naturally beautiful
The movie was great; Joker was exactly what it was meant to be, I think. Scary, funny, insane, smart. I was a little disappointed at the lack of character development for Bruce, which was much better in the last movie. And I thought Maggie Gyllenhal did a better job as Rachael.

Maybe he got the part because he played Batmanuel on the short lived The Tick series!!

I had no excitement over seeing him. I thought, oh, there’s the guy from Lost. That’s cool. Why is he wearing so much eyeliner? It did not get me excited about seeing a show that’s six months away. It was an actor playing a part.
I don’t have to have seen “Speed Racer” to tell you that there’s NO way in hell that it’s better than “Iron Man”.

Well Rayray . . . You absolutely have to see Speed Racer before you say Iron Man was better. Speed Racer is a rare and incredible Motion Picture when all things are considered. Iron Man is superb in its story and characters. But it doesn’t contain anywhere near the same amount of film making ingenuity and raw visual power of Speed Racer . . . IMHO.

Lol, I didn’t have my glasses so I wasn’t sure if that was Nestor or not, but I had a hunch due to his amazing girl-envy eyes (I want his eyes. I would never have to spend money on eye makeup again). But this proves something:
Dhrama has connections to Batman.
