In some ways, there’s not really an advantage to going to the San Diego Comic-Con. Nearly every panel or sneak peek ends up online a few days afterwards, which means you can enjoy the Comic-Con experience without waiting in long lines and pushing through crowds of over 100,000 people. The Lost panel was online hours after it ended, and now the DHARMA eligibility test that Hans Van Eeghen was conducting at the Con can be found at DharmaWantsYou.com. Do you have what it takes to become a member of DHARMA?
When Lost executive producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse appeared at the 2007 San Diego Comic-Con, they brought along a mysterious snippet from the Orchid Station orientation video. Fans didn’t know what to make of the magically appearing bunny rabbit in the clip, but it all made sense nearly a year later after the season 4 finale aired. This year, the showrunners brought another video featuring Dr. Marvin Candle, and this one may be even more intriguing than the last. Instead of seeing another message from the shady DHARMA Initiative, viewers were treated to a rare glimpse inside Candle’s personal life. Could this new clip also be filled with hints about what’s to come in Lost’s fifth season?

Attending the Lost Comic-Con panel today was truly a crazy experience. I had to wait in line for hours to get into the massive auditorium, partially because the cast of Heroes was appearing beforehand. After that little adventure, Damon, Carlton and surprise guest Matthew Fox took the stage for an extended Q&A session. While the Q&A wasn’t filled with anything too revealing, there was a new video at the end of the panel starring your friend and mine, Dr. Marvin Candle.
While I could certainly tell you every single thing that happened during the hour-long event, it’s much better if you just watch it for yourselves. Tapdawg uploaded the entire panel on Veoh.com, and you can check it out below. If you just want to see the Candle video, which features talk of time travel and a voice behind the camera that sounds a lot like Daniel Faraday, check out the final clip.

Want to know what your favorite critics have to say about the Lost phenomenon? Tune in to G4 tonight at 10pm for Lost: A G4 Special. A variety of Lost fans, plus showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, will be talking about the series and reflecting on the entire Lost experience. Not a bad way to spend a Friday night.
My first order of business upon arriving at the San Diego Comic-Con today was to hunt down Octagon Global Recruiting and attempt to join the Dharma Initiative. Unfortunately for me, thousands of other people had the same idea, and I wasn’t able to make it to the booth in time to sign up for the personality test. Maybe tomorrow.
Though I don’t yet have my own Dharma jumpsuit, I did get some photos of the booth. Check them out below:

Between the Television Critics Press Tour that kicked off last week and the San Diego Comic-Con goodness happening in a few days, it’s a good time for TV news. Lost showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse recently appeared at the ABC panel for the press tour, and E!Online’s Kristin had this to report:

I was lucky enough to attend a press screening of The Dark Knight a few days ago, and like just about every other person on the planet I thought it was completely amazing. You can read my full review of the film by clicking here if you like.
One thing I didn’t expect to see was Richard Alpert himself, aka Nestor Carbonell, playing Gotham City’s mayor. He plays a fairly important role in the film and gets a decent amount of screen time, so I suggest checking out the movie if you need a fix of a familiar Lost actor during the long hiatus. I also recommend heading to the discount theater to see Matthew Fox in the surprisingly fun Speed Racer, though I may be alone on that one.
Anyone see The Dark Knight? Leave your thoughts below.
As we get closer to next weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, the closer we get to some sort of announcement from Octagon Global Recruiting. I’ll be getting as much info as I can when I attend the convention, but for now we have this new e-mail that was sent out this morning:

The Emmy nominations were finally announced this morning, and as usual it’s a completely mixed bag. There are nominations that I cheered for and snubs that left me scratching my head and shaking my fist at the computer screen. The good news is that Lost finally made its way back into the Outstanding Drama Series category, which is a spot we all know it deserves after an outstanding fourth season. The bad news is that it was shut out of the writing and directing categories, which seems rather ridiculous. You can’t win them all, I suppose.
Here are the nominations Lost racked up this morning:
