Easter Eggs for the Season 4 Finale
With an amazing two hour episode of Lost to look through, we came up with more fantastic Easter Eggs than usual. Included in this article is information on the real Jeremy Bentham, an amusing 815 reference, the Octagon Global Recruiting ad, and Kate’s phone call. See anything that we missed? Talk about it below.

Honestly, I feel like BuddyTV’s easter eggs for lost this season have been beyond weak. Nearly every one takes some dig at the show or the series overall, as if the author is only writing it because he has to, not because he likes the show. Plus, sometimes there are blatant errors in there, and they usually miss a few, too.
Is there no other site out there that does a better job??

SuperMario–This Easter-egg article exemplified your point. Some of the instances in this article, such as Jeremy Bentham, aren’t even Easter eggs, and the question of whether we’ll get a shout-out for Boone next season kind of missed the fact that Boone had a shout-out in the previous episode.

Not sure if it means anything, simply coincidence, or a humorous trick that the writers threw in, but the name of the Funeral Home where Ben’s body was, “Hoffs-Drawlar” Funeral Home, is an anagram for “Flash Forward.”

Congratulations Sam. You have now made a revelation that the rest of us caught last season when we first saw the name of the funeral home. But perhaps you are a new Lost devotee and if so, good for you. So many people dont want to watch the show now because they dont think they can catch up on all that is happened. But that is what DVDs are for!

Did anyone notice that all endings of the last 3 seasons were touched on?
The boat in the distance on the raft…season 1
The sound and sky turning pink…season 2
and The convo between jack and kate by the river…season 3

How about this …
In the season 4 finale, the London restaurant that Widmore comes out of is ‘Le Pont de la Tour’ on a street called ‘Shad Thames’.
Charles Dickens described the east end of Shad Thames, which in his day was called ‘Jacob’s Island’ (!!!), as “the filthiest, the strangest, the most extraordinary of the many localities that are hidden in London” and apparently set parts of Oliver Twist there, including Bill Sikes’ death.
As Sun walks away from Widmore she is heading straight for the Jacob’s Island Pier.
Damon Lindeloff has spoken of Charles Dickens in connection with Lost so this location was obviously chosen for some particular reason.
To my shame I have never read ‘Oliver Twist’, mainly because it was compulsory to do so when I was at school. So if anyone who has read it can see where they are going with this please let us all know.

What was said in the phone call to Kate?

If you play it backwards it says, “The Island needs you. You have to go back before it’s too late.” or something like that.
I’m new… who is Jacob? We haven’t really seen him, have we? Does that old slave ship (The Black Rock) have to do with anything that is currently happening?

In response to JimH_UK:
I am currently quite enthralled with the idea of Jacob being named for the Dickens’ character in ‘A Christmas Carol’….
1.) Carlton and Damon are admitted “Dickens aficionados’, and in my opinion, the biblical ‘Jacob’ is too easy to point the finger to as the source (considering all of the other feasible biblical name references; ie - Christian Shepherd, Aaron, Ben)
2.) If Jacob IS in fact named for Jacob Marley of Dickensian fame, then I figure Ebeneezer Scrooge to be not Ben (as previously posted by someone), but Jack…making Locke Jacob.
My reasoning is the fact that Jack is (was?) a workaholic, lost his wife due to workaholic tendencies and witnessed her finding happiness with another man - exactly like Scrooge…Locke as Jacob Marley warns him of the ’spirits’ of past, present, and yet to come, ala the classic/ongoing “Man of Science, Man of Faith” chronicles.
Just a theory of possible allusions……
