What Do You Want from the ‘Lost’ Season Finale?
The day is finally here. Though nothing excites me more than a Lost season finale, this also feels like a day of mourning. After tonight’s two hour extravaganza we’ll have to wait until 2009 to see more of the best show on television. That sounds absolutely torturous, but I’m sure the remainder of "There’s No Place Like Home" will leave us with plenty to talk about.
As we prepare ourselves for any and all possibilities tonight, I have a question for all of you. What do you want and/or expect from tonight’s episode? Do you want a giant jaw dropper on par with the flash forward reveal, or will you be content with smaller revelations? Do you hope to discover more about the fates of Sawyer, Jin and Claire? Do you want to be left with a giant cliffhanger, or do you hope the show wraps most things up?
Me? I mainly want one thing from Lost, and that’s to have my mind blown. It’s a tough request to make of most television shows, but I really don’t think Lost will have a problem obliterating my brain. I’m not expecting a twist equal to the flash forwards, because I can’t possibly conceive of anything that could shake up the show so drastically. I expect the finale to amaze me with its plot twists and character moments, not its story structure.
There are other questions that I’d love to have answered. I’d like to know what’s up with Claire, but I’m not expecting that answer until next season. One thing I am expecting is some sort of reveal regarding the fates of Jin and Sawyer. Are they still alive in the future? One of my only disappointments this season is that there hasn’t been a Sawyer-centric episode. I hope we see a lot of him in the finale.
I want to know what the Orchid station does, and how one manages to move an island. Will it move physically, or simply move through time? I’d love to know more about Richard Alpert, but I’m not holding my breath for that one. I want to know how and why the Oceanic 6 came up with their lie. Of course I want to know who is in the coffin, but that goes without saying.
There are many things that I want from the Lost season finale, but the only thing I really expect is damn good storytelling. I have no doubt the finale will deliver on that. As for my other questions, I’ll just have to wait a few hours and see what happens.

I just want to know if sawyer lives or dies, I really hope he lives but if he doesn’t I want him to go protecting his friends.

One of the first things I thought of is I wonder what new characters will be on tap for the next season. Always seems new characters are added each year - Tail section in season 2 (and a little Others), Others in season 3, Chopper/Freighties in Season 4. I think Season 5 is going to introduce a lot more of Widmore, Richard and….Hanso

I would like to get a answer to a big question and then have my mind blown by raising a new big question. That is really what the show is, evertime we get an answer, a bigger question arises.
How about this…since we know Saywer doesn’t make it off the island we find out that he is part of a long con and has been on Widmore side all along….that would be a suprise. I think whatever cliffhanger we are looking for will be something out of the blue that we haven’t suspected.

I liked the sneak peak involving the Daniel, Miles, and Charlotte. I would like to see that Charlotte was one of the young children in the classes and has been wanting to get back to the island to seek revenge for her parents. How is that Ben knew all about her?

I think we’re gonna see a few things - who’s in the coffin, the Oceanic Six leave the Island, we’ll see Ben use the Orchid to transport himself to Tunisa as seen in his episode this season, we’ll see Jin die on the frieghter with maybe Michael and Desmond when it explodes. I think that we’ll also see the flashbacks/flashforwards merge with the present and next season I think that the off Island adventures will be the “present” while Island antics will be shown in flash forwards and flash backs.

I hope they get everyone off the island and resolve what happened so that only 6 were rescued. Then next season will focus on the O6 trying to get back to the island to help the remaining losties.

This goes back to some more in depth theories that I have and have read, but I really think there are many “alternate time lines” in LOST, not just one in the “real time” and “island time.”
I think what happens is that we see some major character deaths… Desmond, Michael, and Jin on the freighter being 3 of them. Keamy the other and possibly one of the 3 remaining “intruders” (miles, charlotte, daniel)
But… when the island gets moved, it’s moved to a completely diff. time, one that it’s never been moved to before.
I see the 3 “killed” on the freighter as alive, in an alternate time line next season on the island.
it’s kinda stupid, but that’s the best I can think of right now.
