Easter Eggs for “There’s No Place Like Home, Part 1″
Whereas "Cabin Fever" was overflowing with Easter Eggs, the hidden gems were harder to come by in the first part of "There’s No Place Like Home." However, there were a few interesting goodies to be found, including more appearances of the numbers and another Geronimo Jackson reference.
Check out the article and the screen caps here
Aside from the tidbits mentioned in that article, I spotted a few possible Alice in Wonderland references in last night’s episode. We know how obsessed the Lost writers are with the whole "down the rabbit hole" scenario, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that rabbits popped up in last night’s episode. And no, I’m not talking about the cute little fluffy bunnies in the Orchid Station.
First, the pilot on the cargo plane carrying the Oceanic 6 had a lucky rabbit’s foot.
While the rabbit’s foot may have been good luck for the pilot, it had the opposite effect for Hurley.
I also noticed that Hurley’s t-shirt had an ace of spades on it. Could this be another subtle reference to the Lewis Carroll classic?
Did you notice anything that wasn’t included? Feel free to mention it in the comments below.

what was up with the fact that claire’s mother was perfectly fine? and last time we saw her , claire was even pregnant, she was still in a coma, or whatever. and so then she was fine at the funeral?

You forgot to mention when Hurley got out of his car to go into his house, he had a bag of Mr. Cluck’s chicken. That is definitely an Easter Egg for sure. Also, was it just me that thought this, or was the character of Claire’s mother different in this episode than the last time we saw her?

Yeah i noticed the rabbits feet and made a comment about it in “Episode 4.12 “There’s No Place Like Home, Part 1″ Afterthoughts” post earlier.
I like these little refrences. Whether they are meaningful or not they are fun to spot.

Also,i couldn’t help but feel that 7070 on the coastguard plane was meant to indicate something also but i’m stumped as to what. It was the way the camera shots made a point of showing it in 2 shots that make me suspicious.

That wasn’t Claire’s Mom. It was her Mom’s sister. The one that HATED Christian Shepard and was bad-mouthing him in the hospital room when Claire learned he was her father.

uumm….completely irrelevant from theorising and other incredible lost related things…
I was watching the avi EZTV download and while sayid is on the boat going onto the beach (15:54/41:33) did anyone else notice a large seaturtle crawling across the beach?
Its quite blatant and stays on the screen for 2 seconds…. but then when he gets on the beach its gone..
Just a little something to note

Ace of Spades is the card of war. Foreshadows bad things about to happen

Actually, it was 1717 on the coast guard plane. which if you add it up, its 16, one of the numbers.

@keely: I think that’s part of the score. I agree — thought it was beautiful. wanted to hear it again. watch for the soundtrack to come out in six months or so! the ones from other seasons are really great.

who was one of the two people responsible for jin’s death? i think its gonna turn out to be sun. either directly (she shoots him, unlikely) or indirectly (she leaves him behind somewhere)
and sure there are conspiracy theorists. but for the vast majority of people, they will believe the main story. i will give you 3 scenario’s.
1. we were on this island for 108 days. everything we said is true. it really sucked. coincidence that the island is named doubt.
2. we lied. the island is actually a portal of time and space and villans and bens and smoke monsters, and wierd toed statues and polar bears. thats right polar bears. and we left a whole bunch of people behind because thats what the island wanted us to do. and the general public says, “why yes, that seems reasonable and very likely to happen. we should investigate this island”
3. same as two with one exception. the general public responds, “damn those oceanic six are bats**t crazy. being stranded for 108 days must have really messed with thier heads. hmmm there prolly were more survivors and they resorted to canniblilism. especially that fat one. hahaha.. oh hey did you see what paris hilton slept with another 40 guys? ….”

I thought this was a good episode, but offered more questions than answers. I don’t want to wait two weeks to see the finale…but then two weeks is better than having to wait a whole summer after the next episode.

Actually, the Ace of Spades is the card of Death, not war.
