Entertainment Weekly Previews “There’s No Place Like Home”
Entertainment Weekly’s Jeff Jensen has posted his latest Lost preview column, where he prepares for the season finale by mulling over a few theories. Could Smokey be a supernatural solution to the island’s time travel issues? Will the "Frozen Donkey Wheel" involve Locke going back in time? And just how will Locke be able to move the island anyway?

Someone else has probably suggested this by now, but a lightbulb went on in my head while reading this article. What are the chances that Locke and Ben are brothers? Or half brothers for that matter.
Both have mothers named Emily. Not a huge deal, Emily is common name. But what if Emily had Locke, gave him up, got married and then had Ben? There is supposedly a 5 year difference between Locke and Ben, plenty of time for all of that to occur.
The island wants Locke, but he isn’t ready, he needs to be tested by life. The island takes Ben instead as a temporary replacement and is satisfied by the close DNA similarities and abilities.
Locke gets his butt kicked all over the place by life and is scratching for something to put total belief and effort into (the island) and bingo bango the island sucks him out of the sky.

I’ve thought of that myself but there’s the small matter of Locke’s mother meeting up with him in the episode that he gets conned for his kidney.
Of course Cooper could have put her up to that and told her to pretend that she was his mother, but I dunno.
Besides, Ben’s mother died having him. And it was when Ben/Locke were grownup that Locke’s mother came to see him.
I think it would be cool if Ben and Locke were brothers, but I doubt that’ll happen.
I have a theory submitted…hopefully it’ll get posted sometime. Kind of a light hearted theory, not to be taken too seriously. lol

go on this http://spoilerslost.blogspot.com/ its got a poll about whos in the coffin and
people are saying desmond But i find that a bit odd that no friends or family wouldnt come to his funeral ok if he’s got no family but surely PENNY would definelty go to desmonds funeral ..
unless desmond dies after ben has got to penny or dies along with penny when ben gets his hands on her LOL

Crap, I don’t recall Locke’s mom making any appearances. Well, I gave my theory a shot, I’m not totally throwing it out the window, but I should have thought about it more.

I think the island will be moved with the use of time travel.
Afterall they say the US and europe were once conected. All continents move a little (some cms)each day. So time is the logical answer to it.

I have been trying to link Ben and Locke together as well. There hasn’t been enough information given to say that they are brothers, but there also isn’t enough to say that they can’t be related somehow. How do we know Roger, Ben’s supposed father was his biological father? He seemed to resent Ben so much that it didn’t seem like a normal father-son relationship. The relationship to me seems more like Roger married a woman he loved and viewed Ben as an afterthought who took the woman away from him. Ben and Roger really had no attachment to each other emotionally. What if Roger was so upset because Ben was not his, he met Emily while she was pregnant (Alpert?) and married her or worse, she got pregnant with another man while married to Roger!!! That would cause animosity that we have seen. Ben is another mans spawn that killed Rogers woman? This is a fantastic choice as it heightens the dramatic potential more than any other option. And it is totally plausible!!!!

In my excitement I forgot to add that if Roger isn’t Ben’s real father, perhaps Locke’s con man dad is. I’m fairly sure there has to be 1 more family connection that we haven’t heard about. Between all the con-men and older people and bizarre coincidences, Christian Sheppard or Jack have to be closely related to Ben or Locke somehow.

The whole thing about Locke and Ben being half brothers and having the same mother cant be true because Bens mother died giving birth to him and Lockes mother is still alive

The person is the coffin is….
Christian Sheppard-Jack’s father. That is why Jack was the last person to see the body
