First Look at Episode 4.10 “Something Nice Back Home”
Last week’s episode of Lost was absolutely amazing, and I only hope that tomorrow night’s "Something Nice Back Home" can keep the momentum going. I must admit that I get a little bit nervous whenever it’s time for a Jack-centric episode. Sometimes we end up with something amazing like "Through the Looking Glass," and other times we end up with "Stranger in a Strange Land." Jack is a great character, but the writers occasionally struggle to craft an intriguing story around him.
To get ready for tomorrow night’s episode, we have some promo pics and two clips from "Something Nice Back Home."
The official ABC description of the episode, which was written by Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, reads, "Kate and Juliet must learn to work together when Jack’s health is seriously compromised, and something goes wrong as Sawyer, Claire, Aaron and Miles continue their trek away from Locke’s camp and back to the beach."
In the first photo, we see Sawyer with. . .a guitar? I’m not sure when the group will find time for campfire sing-alongs, but it looks like Sawyer has it covered.
The ABC promo for this episode made it seem like Jack may have a simple case of appendicitis. Is that all that’s wrong with him, or is there more to it than that?
Hey look, Rose is back!

ugh…not really interested in jack’s stupid little dilemma. unless it has something to do with his impending exit from the island, i.e. something akin to minkowski’s sickness.

GUY! was bleeding a lil bit. THATS BULL. Every1 saw Cerberus all gangster rollin through the Barracks like a train and then crushing the forest like a tornado! He had 2 havdone more damage than just a lil scratch n bruise!!!!!! CANT WAIT 4 CABIN FEVER!!! we get 2 c jacob again and learn about Cerberus!!!!!!!!!!!!

Matthew, I’m the same way. I was a little disappointed with smokey after that poor showing. Oh well, it did allow Ben et al to escape. But I’m totally stoked that Ben and Locke are working together now. They are my two favorite characters. I really think that Ben will somehow be vindicated. I mean, obviously he is at times petty and jealous and has his moral failings. But that’s what I love about Lost. There isn’t a GOOD guy with no bad and BAD guys with no good. But I really do think that Ben will end up playing a very important role that will save lots of people.

I was wondering about Ol’ Smokey and how Ben summoned him.
I’m thinking that all this time whenever Ben has summoned him (if he has summoned him everytime) that the level was always on 1 or 2. And the lower levels is where he’s strongest. When he released him on the freighters, he threw the lever all the way up to 10, which while making it massively larger, and it could damage the shit outta the forest, I wonder if that somehow weakened it’s ability to kill human beings.
Just a thought.

OK heres the deal with Jack’s “sickness” He said it perfectly clearly in this first clip. He vowed t get everyone off of the island, including himself. BAD IDEA BAD JACK!! STUPID!! The island is making him sick, he is supposed to stay, his current actions are frivolous right now, the island knows it, and is attempting to tell Jack too. He is an important player in the game friends! He will be back of course by the end of the series, as we know he doesnt do so well out in the real world, and he told Kate himself that “we need to go back!”.

The island isn’t making Jack sick so he will stay, it’s making him sick so he will leave. Jack has an important duty to fulfill off the island, or perhaps in returning to the island, but either way the island wants him off.

I love how any episode that isn’t about a given person’s favorite part of the show is instantly labeled “filler.”
Some of us like the WHOLE show, people…

Will…I couldn’t agree more with you…I enjoy every aspect of the WHOLE story. What do people have against Jack anyways?

Uh, there were many mercs on the island, I’d say anywhere from 10-20. Just because 4 survived doesn’t mean anything. Smokey is still awesome.

There you go. Jack clearly states that he made a promise to get everyone off the island. I would imagine he will be forced off the island for medical purposes, setting up Jacks whole need to return to the island to fulfill his promise. Perhaps Daniel Farraday will give up his return spot to save Jack?
The subject of Ben’s love for Juliet was broached 3-4 episodes ago. The writers need to throw us some more victuals of information on this no matter how small to keep this progressing. If Ben’s love for Juliet/Annie is something significant it will get lost if they don’t rehash it soon. If it is a meaning full love, we need to see Ben pining away for either of these people, but as it stands now this love is trivial compared to his desire for saving the island and defeating Widmore.
Kimme looks like a young Christopher Walken in that 2nd clip.

Blatantly the mercs had some device, a smaller version of the perimater fence if you will, to fend of Smokey.
