Last week’s episode of Lost was absolutely amazing, and I only hope that tomorrow night’s "Something Nice Back Home" can keep the momentum going. I must admit that I get a little bit nervous whenever it’s time for a Jack-centric episode. Sometimes we end up with something amazing like "Through the Looking Glass," and other times we end up with "Stranger in a Strange Land." Jack is a great character, but the writers occasionally struggle to craft an intriguing story around him.
To get ready for tomorrow night’s episode, we have some promo pics and two clips from "Something Nice Back Home."

I don’t think it’s overstating it to say that last week’s episode of Lost provided us with one of the most interesting revelations in the history of the series. We learned that Ben has the ability to control the smoke monster from a secret chamber buried within his house. Even more interesting, the door to the chamber was marked with ancient hieroglyphics, leading us to believe that Smokey has been a presence on the island for much longer than we expected. That reveal may not answer all of our questions regarding Ol’ Smokey, but it did open up many new possibilities to ponder.
Tail Section readers had a lot of thoughts about the events in "The Shape of Things to Come." Read on for the best theories.

Some shows, such as Friday Night Lights, manage to get DVD sets out just a couple of months after a season wraps up. Other shows, such as Lost and Battlestar Galactica, seem to take eons to release their DVDs. However, the Lost sets are always well worth the wait thanks to the excellent extras and beautiful packaging on display. There’s a lot of care put into these sets, though I still wish they would come to stores a bit more quickly.

You may be wondering how Lost fared in the ratings on its first night following Grey’s Anatomy, and I’m happy to report that the news is good. "Meet Kevin Johnson" hit a season low of 11.28 million viewers, but "The Shape of Things to Come" bumped up to 12.4 million. The episode also took the lead in every under-55 demo, and improved 30% over what October Road was averaging in the 10pm time slot earlier in the year. In addition, it was the only show on ABC last night to actually improve in the ratings compared to its previous episode.
As always, the ratings will improve once the DVR playbacks are taken into consideration. For now, here is the rundown of the ratings this season:

Last night’s amazing episode of Lost, which is already getting a lot of "Best. Episode. Ever." praise, gave us a nice bunch of Easter Eggs to dig through. There was Ben’s On the Road shout out, his mysterious DHARMA jacket, the song he played on the piano, and a couple other interesting tidbits.
Check out the screen grabs of the Easter Eggs here.
You might need to pinch me, because I’m having trouble believing that the return of Lost is finally here. Five weeks can feel like a very long time when you’re left with the type of life or death cliffhanger that "Meet Kevin Johnson" signed off with. When we last left the castaways, Rousseau and Karl were shot by mystery men in the jungle, Locke was planning his next move, and the Losties on the beach were still awaiting rescue. On tonight’s episode, there were some big explosions and even bigger surprises.

USA Today recently asked obsessive Lost fans to send in their theories about the future of the series, and now many of those submissions are posted on their website. Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will eventually be commenting on the best of them, though they promise not to give any spoilers away.
The fan theories include such ideas as the Hanso Foundation building an amusement park, the island being alive, Vincent being a manifestation of Smokey, and Sayid being Ben’s partner in crime since the beginning. Head on over to USAToday.com to read everything the fans had to say.
