Minor Spoilers for a Post-Strike Lost Episode
Michael Ausiello over at TVGuide.com has an interesting tidbit about an upcoming post-strike episode of Lost, so if you want to be 100 percent spoiler free, stop reading now.
Here’s what he says:
"An upcoming, post-strike episode will feature the same male character at different ages, described as ’sweet, shy, tentative and smart’ at 5 and ‘angry, a little nerdy, defiant and rebellious’ at 16. Also, said male character has green eyes. The same episode also features a redheaded teenaged girl who is ‘emotional, prone to dramatic gestures, and passionately in love.’ Who are we talking about here?"
As Ausiello also points out, the most obvious answer is that we’ll be seeing more of Ben and Annie. However, his mole also tells him that this is going to be a Locke-centric episode. Either his mole is wrong, or somehow Locke has a connection to Ben’s past that we were previously unaware of. Any theories? Post them in the comments or send them in using the guidelines below.

Could the red head girl be Charlotte?
Comment by Ben — March 18, 2008 @ 7:13 am
Couldn’t it be Aaron? Those would all be flash forwards, at least, from island time.
Or, Sawyer? I could see him being shy, etc. after losing his mom like he did, then growing up to be rebellious.

Ben had a surprise for John. He had Locke’s father locked up. Ben wanted Locke to kill his father so he could stay with the others. Maybe there is a flashback to Ben’s childhood (before the island). Was his mother involved with Locke’s father? Let’s not forget Locke’s dad was a sweet talking con man. He ruined a lot of people’s lives. Maybe Ben’s mother was a victim of Locke’s father. It would not surprise me if Ben used Locke to do his dirty work. They may all have had similar childhoods. If that were true, Ben would have more in common with Sawyer than with Locke.

Is it just me or does Ben get to Locke way to easy? Ben shows Locke a video of Widmore and all of a sudden he let’s the man that just put a hole in his chest eat dinner at the compound with them. He is to trusting or stupid. If I were Locke I’d have a blow torch and some pliers and go medevil on his ass (Pulp Fiction syle).

I think we’re going to be seeing Locke as a child and teenager. We’re going to find out what is “special” about him, and it’s going to connect him to the island’s powers somehow. This kind of episode is totally necessary to redeem Locke’s character in the eyes of the audience. He definitely has green eyes. I think Ben’s are blue.
The other reason I don’t think it’s Annie and Ben is because I think that Annie does not have red-hair. (We’ve already seen her as a child with sandy-brown hair, and we also heard-tell that Juliet and Annie may look alike, as per the enhanced episode of the Other Woman. So, Annie may or may not have brown hair or blonde hair or somewhere in between, but not RED!)
That said, I do think Locke and Ben are VERY similar creatures.

It sounds like a backstory episode for Daniel and Charlotte to me.
As for Locke being easy on Ben it has been well established that Locke is too trusting and a sucker. It has been fooled by the rookie cop, by his Father, by Sawyer, by Jack and by Ben. Locke has never really had anyone in his life and is always trying to find acceptance from those around him. My guess is we will see him let Miles go soon as well which will bite him in the ass later on.

Micheal Ausiello is reaching on his theories. I doubt he he got any of the 3 right.
Interesting the post-striked episode is going to start with more flashbacks rather than flash forwards. This is most likely because they are going to highlight the new characters. Before this season ends we need to see backstory on Charlotte, Lapidus and Miles we still don’t know anything about the first two while we know that Miles is out for money. We received enough about Farraday, though he is interesting enough to warrant more for sheer viewer enjoyment.
I doubt they are going to offer more flashbacks for the main Losties, but if they do, then I put Sawyer as the “sweet, shy, tentative and smart’ at 5 and ‘angry, a little nerdy, defiant and rebellious’ at 16 character and KAte as the readhead or my money is on the episode will be about the Christian Shephard’s family and we will see Jack growing up and Claire with her hair died red at 16. They usually off a character during their flashback scene so my money is on Claire dieing this week.

I think its kind of obvious that its locke as a kid….whats with everyone thinking every girl is annie its pretty annoying. like when everyone one thought after the other woman they were talking about Annie that looked like juliet….yea annie looks just like juliet right after every feature of her body changes
Comment by Matt — March 18, 2008 @ 12:29 pm
Sorry, but the girl who played Annie didn’t have red hair. She had freckles, but her hair was brown, not red. I wondered if it was my TV, so just in case I looked online to find a screen cap and I found this one here: http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=97451&fullsize=1 Her hair looks definitely brown to me.
I’m more inclined to believe it’s Locke as a kid and besides… if we’re to believe that Harper’s “her” is Annie, then Annie would’ve grown to have had blond hair.

lockes mum had red hair
Comment by susan evans — March 18, 2008 @ 3:00 pm
The “Her” that Harper mentioned was clearly Ben’s mother.
Comment by Darth Holden — March 18, 2008 @ 6:09 pm
darth holden: i agree that juliet looks like ben’s mom, but the “enhanced episode” referred to harper as commenting on annie… are those enhanced episode pop-ups “canon”?
Comment by lmz27 — March 18, 2008 @ 8:22 pm
Darth Holden: How would Harper know what Ben’s mother looked like? A photo? I don’t know. It’s not “clearly” Ben’s mother to me, that’s sketchy at best. I also am with lmz27 on this one. I’m taking the “enhanced episodes” as canon which only reinforces what I said. Annie cannot, or at least should not, have red hair.

Could it be Peggy Bundy, Lockes love interest from season 2 (i think) that is the red head?
I think there must be something that connects ben with Locke, lets be honest they hav both had ample chance to finish each other off.

SPOILER #1
The Oceanic Six are Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and Vincent.
In the Season 4 finale, Vincent sees a basketball floating in the ocean near the beach and paddles out to investigate. Jack, Kate, Sun and Hurley see him and decide to swim out after him, except Hurley who finds a Jet-Ski in the jungle. After enlisting the help of Jin, Sawyer and Charlie’s ghost, he gets it running and rides out to the others who have managed to come across a piece of Michael’s raft. While floating out at sea, Vincent and Jack play a few games of catch with the basketball that Vincent has named Wilson. Jack, however, accidently throws Wilson too far and Vincent is unable to catch him. This upsets Vincent, and as a way of getting back at Jack, he pisses on his leg several times when he isn’t looking. After a few days they come across the freighter and are re-united with Sayid and Desmond. Michael has since changed his name to Walt and appears to Locke in the barracks where he does nothing but repeatedly taunt Locke after beating him in 108 consecutive games of backgammon, using lines such as, “Always bet on black, bitch!”
While on the freighter Desmond’s subconcious suddenly flashes back to 1966 where he meets Jack’s mum. The two date for a year until Desmond breaks it off and becomes a hippie and addicted to marijuana. He then starts a commune and begins growing and selling marijuana. Years later, however, some bald guy gets him arrested after he brings around a DEA agent for dinner. Frank Lapidus then flies Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sayid, Sun and Vincent back to civilisation where they are dubbed the Oceanic Six. In Vincent’s flashforward episode it is revealed that he has become addicted to eating dead birds. He tries to commit suicide by jumping in front of a garbage truck but it is saved by Aaron at the last minute. Aaron then goes on to explain to Vincent that he left the island by himself a few weeks later because he couldn’t stand listening to Claire refer to herself as ‘Mummy’ any longer. He then tells Vincent how he hitched a ride with Ben, and says that he’s not such a bad bloke once you get to know him, but admits the sperm samples he gave to Juliet as payment probably helped his cause. Since then he’s just been crashing at Kate’s place mainly, but wishes Hurley would stop coming around and raiding the pantry.
In the Season 5 premiere, it is revealed how Hurley loses his fortune when he attempts to open a chain of Wendys in Nigeria and fashion the Mr. Eko Burger and Mr. Eko Burger with cheese. Other revelations include: Why Kate really won’t go for coffee with Jack. She’s become a lesbian. Is Jin really dead? Yes…. He kills himself on the island after losing a game of golf to Bernard. And… Does Ben get to have sex Juliet? No… But he promises to let her leave the island if she will.
SPOILER #2
It is Vincent in the coffin.
After several more of Vincent’s suicide attempts are thwarted, he goes to Jack and claims that they have to go back to the island. However, because Vincent is a dog, and therefore cannot properly communicate with humans, all Jack can summise is that Vincent is barking because he misses Walt. Vincent tries to convey to Jack that it’s not about Walt, and that in fact he never really liked Walt, especially when he would wake him up at five o’clock in the morning to watch Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. He tells Jack that the reason he wants to go back to the island is because he feels it’s the only way he can die. Eventually, Jack gets sick of Vincent’s barking and shoots him three times in the head. However, just before he does, Vincent steps on a medusa spider in Jack’s backyard and becomes paralyzed. Jack then takes what he thinks is Vincent’s dead body to the veterinary clinic. A week later he reads about Vincent’s service to be held at the Hoffs/Drawler funeral parlour. He shows up to find out off the funeral director that nobody else but himself showed up. Jack realises this is probably because Vincent is just a dog and therefore why would anyone show up? After some careful consideration he has Vincent cremated. Weeks later, Vincent continues to haunt Jack and he goes crazy and starts thinkning he’s a cat. He is thrown in Santa Rosa Mental Institition with Hurley and the two grow old together playing Connect Four.
THE END.
