Lindelof and Cuse Talk About Seasons 5 and 6

Lost News — February 26, 2008 at 12:07 pm by Matt

A new article in the New York Post, entitled "10 Reasons Why Lost is Found," claims that the show is the best it’s been since the first season.  They also got some interesting tidbits out of Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, including their plans for seasons 5 and 6 of the series.

"Season 4 is about who gets off the island and the fact that they need to get back," Lindelof points out.  "Season 5 is about why they need to get back, and season 6 is about what happens when they get back."

The showrunners also claimed that J.K. Rowling gave them the inspiration to wrap the series up after 6 seasons.  "When we heard her say that she was only writing seven [Harry Potters], we were inspired," says Lindelof.  "Franchise shows like Grey’s Anatomy don’t need to have a beginning, middle and end.  They can bring in new doctors, nurses and patients, but shows like ours need to have a place to go."

The article claims that Lost will air seven episodes before taking a break, then return in April with episodes eight through thirteen.  According to Michael Ausiello at TV Guide, this is incorrect.  Lost will air eight episodes, then take a break and return with nine through thirteen on April 24.
