First Look at Episode 4.4 “Eggtown”
Tomorrow night’s episode of Lost, entitled "Eggtown," will revolve around Locke’s crew and their attempts to get information out of their captives. Ben and Miles don’t seem likely to talk, but it’s possible that Kate may have some ideas as to how to get them to spill the beans. According to the promo for the episode, we’ll also find out the identity of another one of the Oceanic Six. This will bring our grand total of known Oceanic Sixers to four, unless you’re in the camp that believes Kate is already confirmed as one of them. Though we know she definitely gets off the island, I believe she may not be one of the six.
In anticipation of "Eggtown" we have an extended trailer for the episode, a look at a few photos that may hold intriguing clues, and four clips. As for what the title of the episode refers to, your guess is as good as mine.
The first photo shows Ben eating, strangely enough, eggs, while looking at a copy of some book. Knowing Lost, the identity of that book probably holds some sort of double meaning.
It looks like Kate and Sawyer may attempt to play house after all.
Everything old is new again as Locke once again holds Ben captive.
Two flashlights and a gun may help Sawyer, Locke, and Kate with whatever they’re pondering.
Sawyer checks out the fridge.
The extended trailer for the episode shows many intriguing things, including Kate standing up to Locke, a romp in the sheets for two of the castaways, and yes, more eggs.
The four clips from the episode are below:

“This will bring our grand total of known Oceanic Sixers to four, unless you’re in the camp that believes Kate is already confirmed as one of them. Though we know she definitely gets off the island, I believe she may not be one of the six.”
In the preview, a voiceover during the shot of Kate surrounded by (probably) dozens of people says something like, “This is one of the most recognized faces in America.”
Someone on trial for murder who was thought to have been killed in a plane crash but had been living on an island for four-five months would fit that bill. Kate is one of the six.

Think it’s some what obvious from the trailors this is a Kate episode and she is the one they are revealing as another member of the Oceanic 6 since even though she has already been shown off island she has yet to be confirmed as one.

Wow-It’s looking good anyway. Just by the cut of the CTY trailer, it looks like Kate may be confirmed as one of the six. It may be the usual more questions than answers, but looking forward to it.

Darlton confirmed in the podcast that Kate was one of the O Six.

What is this obsession we have with combining two names into one?
Comment by b — February 20, 2008 @ 3:33 pm
i get u ‘b’, it’s just cuz it’s easier to write, “Darlton said”, than “Damon and Carlton said”, it’s kinda lazy but u know it works, it’s like saying “u” instead of “you”…

First thing I thought of when I read ‘Eggtown’ was fertility…..

I am guessing that “eggtown” is Sawyer’s nickname for a uterus.

That’s hilarious :), well the shippers (Skaters) will be ecstatic during this ep. Oceainic 6…my guess, either Sun or Clair, one is with child the other has one. My Zim dollar

Yeah, I think it’s possible Kate will be revealed to be pregnant (hence “Eggtown”).
ALSO: I think it’s a cheat to count her as a “new” reveal of the Oceanic 6 since this was revealed last season, final episode. They didn’t have that cool catch name yet but, still…
1 last ALSO: Maybe its just me, but why hasnt any of the islanders asked any of the freighters “How long have we been out here?” and/or stuff like that? I know the island is a crazy place with a lot of fascinating happenings, but it’s been less than 4 months their time (islanders) so they can’t be THAT removed from reality - they should/would have more questions. We the audience have a pretty good idea now that they have probably been away longer than they think (hence farraday’s experiment) and asking 1 simple question would reveal this to all of them and create a big WTF not for the audience but for the islanders, which of course creates ripple WTFs for said audience.
Just some thoughts.

Please, how hard is it for people to comprehend, NO SPOILERS unless you’ve clearly marked them. Some people simply don’t want their experience spoiled by knowing what will happen, before the episode.

Guys, blurting out spoilers in the comments section for non-spoiler articles is a big no no. Those comments will be promptly deleted.

1 - Jack
2 - Kate
3 - Hurley
4 - Sayid
5 - ?
6 - ?
Kate is absolutely one of the 6. The question is, were the promos misleading? They say that another of the Oceanic 6 will be revealed, but we already know Kate gets off the island. Were they just exaggerating to get people to tune in or will Kate come across someone else who we have yet to find out escaped the island as well?
I think the promos saying another would be revealed are referring to Kate, though. ABC has a tendency to be a bit melodramatic in their promotions for this show.

I don’t know exactly what book Ben is holding, but I’m nearly sure it’s by Philip K. Dick. All the reprints have the same cover design with the yellow and purple. Since everyone SHOULD have a few of Dick’s novels lying around you can just check the picture against your own copy!

MY THEORY PRIOR TO TONIGHT’S EPISODE (posted @ 7:25pm EST)
Okay, I heard that the episode would shed light on the big major Lost character to die. Someone who’s been on the show since Episode 1.
Now, just going from things I’ve seen in the previous episodes, and what I’ve heard of this episode (no spoiler information, mind you, just what they’ve shown in promos and whatnot) I have a theory on what is going to happen and it leads to who is in the coffin.
1. I think that Ben Linus/Evil Ben/Whoever is going to get Kate off the hook on her trial somehow. I don’t know how, but I think he has a hand in getting her out. I also think that he gives her orders (as she’s working for him) to kill someone that she cares deeply for. Perhaps Sawyer? I know they have said he’s not one of the people to get off the island, but then again Ben wasn’t either. Or it might be someone else she really cares about. Her being forced into doing this, and killing that other person who’s slated to die before the 6th episode or whatever, could be the reason why when Jack asked her if she was going to go to the funeral (Ben’s), she reacted so strongly like “why would I go there?”
She would still have an extreme hatred for Ben for what he made her do.
Just my thoughts. This is my theory before the episode airs. Also I have not read anything else in this thread, I just wanted to get my ideas down and not be influenced by anyone else’s thoughts.
That’s it.

The common belief that Ben makes it off the island and is not counted among the O 6 creates the possibility that others, like maybe Locke, could get off unknown to the general public. 6 officially survive but others may unofficially survive.
One thing seems probable, Clare’s baby doesn’t make it, or they’d be called “The Six and a half” or “Five men and a baby” or some other catchy nickname that emphasizes the miracle of a baby surviving, don’t you think?

Oops, I stand corrected. Who would’ve figured little Aaron as one of the six?
Comment by Stripe — February 22, 2008 @ 6:54 am
Did anyone notice that the music coming from the tv that Hurley turns on changes from the preview (found on this page) and the actual episode. Spooky or what?
Comment by Yagyu — February 22, 2008 @ 7:40 am
Aaron can’t be one of the six, he wasn’t born when the plane crashed, therefore can’t be counted as being “Oceanic”.
