Easter Eggs for Episode 4.3 “The Economist”
Last night’s episode of Lost wasn’t exactly brimming with Easter Eggs, but we did pick up a few. Of course the numbers showed up somewhere, but we also have a theory on who the mysterious RG may be, as well as a familiar face on some of Ben’s money. Aside from those, one of my personal questions is why Ben had a copy of The Holy Qur’an on his bookshelf. Can anyone find the significance in that particular choice?

Did anyone else notice that Naomi’s bracelet was the same bracelet that Sayid pulled off of that woman he shot in his flash-forward (the same woman who shot Sayid)?

Nevermind. It’s in the Easter Egg link. My bad.

The name on the passport looked like “Sean Moriarty” to me.

Anyone notice how there were 8 masks in Ben’s House surrounding a picture and they were laid out more like a path?

All I can take away from this is Ben Linus, as he has been saying all along is “one of the good guys.” We don’t know why he is savagely protecting the island from the outsiders, but it is clear he will stop at nothing to prevent opposing forces from exploiting it’s power. Sayid would never side with Ben unless Ben is a good guy.
Also, why does Ben have considerably more hair this season? He was almost bald his hair was so thin in season 3 episode 1. The picture miles has of Ben shows a full head of hair, as does the flash forward as does everything else in 4.3. Someone dropped the ball on the continuity issue there. Unless there are two Ben’s running around.

Just two notes on the Dean Moriarty character from Kerouac’s On the Road -
One - Dean, just like most of the Lost characters (Ben, Locke, Jack, Kate, Walt) has an issue with his father and one thread of the novel is that Dean is searching for this father.
Two - (and this may be just minor, but is nevertheless interesting)Dean tells the other character in the novel, Sal Paradise, that he understands TIME and there is a sense that he can “control” it. Perhaps similar to what Ben can do with time both on, and even off, the island.
Just some ideas to think about.
