Writers’ Strike Nears an End

Lost News — February 9, 2008 at 6:09 pm by Matt

There’s word today that the writers’ strike is finally coming to an end after months of negotiations.  The writers have reached a tentative deal with the producers, but a WGA vote still needs to take place to see if they want to accept it. The dotted lines are not yet signed, so I’m not going to put on my snazzy shoes and dance a jig just yet.  Don’t let the joy overwhelm you until it becomes official.

According to Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide, if the strike does wrap up this weekend, Lost would most likely be able to complete six more episodes beyond the additional eight that are already done.  Since the season was originally supposed to have 16 episodes, it’s possible ABC would want to tack on two more hours to season 5 to make up the difference.  However, that’s all just speculation at this point, and we’ll surely know more after the strike is officially over.

Yes, if the writers do decide to sign on that dotted line, we could get what basically amounts to a full season of Lost goodness.  Keep your fingers crossed.
