Extended Trailer For Season Four Hits the Web
If the brief Lost season four trailer that we got our hands on last week wasn’t enough for you, an extended version has now hit the web. This one minute and 46 seconds is extremely tantalizing, mixing footage we’ve already seen with some new shots, including a couple glimpses of new cast members. January 31 really can’t get here quickly enough for my liking.
I’ve already gone over what was shown in the previous trailer, and much of that is included in this new version. The bits we haven’t seen before include:
A rescue helicopter shining a spotlight on what looks like Jack and Kate, and Jack telling her that yes, they’re really going home.
Sun saying "I can’t believe I’m actually going to have my baby in a hospital."
Hurley saying "When we get rescued, and I go back, I’m gonna be free," while he jumps in the ocean. There was much speculation after the last clip that Hurley was standing with Charlie, and it’s possible that’s who he’s speaking to here. According to TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello, the most "hotly debated" clip from the previous trailer is the first scene of season four, and if we think we’ve got it figured out, we can think again. I can only imagine this is referring to the Charlie appearance.
A new character, played by Jeremy Davies, telling Jack that "Rescuing your people, can’t really say it’s our primary objective."
Another new character, played by Ken Leung, pulling a gun out on Jack.
Sayid tossing Sawyer a gun, with Sawyer saying "And here I thought I was going to get a good night’s sleep."
That’s when the trailer really kicks in to high gear, and the clips fly by quickly. Locke claims that "there’s a traitor in the midst," Jack yells "let go of me" while Sayid and Sawyer try to hold him down, and Hurley peers through a window and sees a man in a suit sitting there before he runs off in fear. It could be Jacob, but it also looks a little bit like Christian Shephard. Ken Leung’s character tells Jack and Juliet "You want to know why we’re here? I’ll tell you why we’re here!" Ben, who is tied to a tree, tells Locke "You really don’t stand a chance now," while Locke points a gun at him and replies with "Goodbye, Benjamin."
The trailer then slows down again, showing a shot of a helicopter flying over the ocean. Locke is seen telling the castaways "If you want to live, you need to come with me." My guess would be that he’s trying to lead them away from the rescuers, though I doubt many people will follow him. There’s an intimate exchange between Sawyer and Kate, Hurley sitting in a circle of grave markers, and the whole thing ends with Jack’s cry of "We have to go back!"
I found this trailer to be much more effective and intriguing than the previous clip, which flew by too quickly to have any sort of huge impact. This one really gave me some tingles of emotion, especially near the end when we hear Jack’s desperate plea to return to the island. If they start showing this thing on ABC, viewers are going to tune in to Lost in droves for its premiere episode. I cannot wait for this season to begin.

I cannot wait too! I’m so damn nervous these days

The Person who Hurley saw was Michael 100%. It is a black man that looks exactly like Michael.

The person sitting in the chair is definitely Christian Shephard. It has been rumored that he is sitting in Jacobs hut and that Hurley is looking through a window at him. It has also been debated that the wide eye shot after showing hurley looking through the window is either hurley, jack or jacob

When you look at the trailer, and you see the pile of fruit, you can see the very moment ,the fraiter enters the barierre that leads to the island. It looks like there is an explotion , but that isn’t the fact…the boat is passing through an electric field.I think, anyway.
Some thoughts on this?

Some of the dialogue in that trailer sounded embarassingly bad. I hope this doesn’t end up being like Heroes’ second season…crappy because of the strike rushing production.

I Hope LOST doesn’t get all ‘military’ with elite soldiers coming to the island armed with loads of guns and straight away explaining what the situation is. One of The reasons lost has been so good up to this point is because things have been so primitive, so when you come across something you wouldn’t expect to see on a seemingly deserted island i.e. the hatch, it makes it all the more surprising - and addictive.

am I crazy or the water in the end title graphic shot is actually reflecting a city and not the island?
@DS. honestly, also dialogs in the Missing Pieces are really really bad and lower then the usual episode standard…aren’t they?
