ABC head calls Lost’s timeslot a “Wildcard Asset”
Mediaweek is reporting that ABC is planning on keeping it’s current Wednesday night line up of Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, and Dirty Sexy Money come mid-season, all but closing the book on Lost returning to Wednesday.
The article was particularly about how well these shows would fare against American Idol, and apparently ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson is overjoyed with the line-ups success. It is the first time a block of new programming has seized key demo dominance since the early 80’s.
Dirty Sexy Money is performing below Lost in total viewers, but above Lost in the right ‘kind’ of viewers. I guess Lost fans don’t buy anything.
The article looked at ABC’s lineup of new programming extensively. In short, there aren’t many failures. Meaning the only naturally available time slot, which has been rumored to be under consideration for sometime, is Monday at 8:00pm. But McPherson is still not committing to it. When Lost was mentioned, it was briefly and in parentheses:
"(McPherson noted that if the lineup stays, it leaves ABC hit Lost as a "wildcard asset" that may end up being scheduled on another night when it returns in midseason.)"

god I wish they would make decisions with their brains, not their wallets. It makes me sick that people watch DSM or PP. Its just pathetic. They should be watching "Life."
seriously, everyone watch "Life." wednesdays at 10.

WILDCARD… GRRR, what in the world do they mean by that. LOST deserves to be the TRUMP card lol

IMO, Life is a great idea, poorly executed. Should’ve been about him getting revenge and intergration in society in stead of random cases.
Can’t see it lasting, as is.
Ps. Doc dude…the comments posting form sucks ass. it’s gobbled my comments so many times. I’m not posting stuff anymore…why type out things twice? it pisses your readers off.

How do they expect Lost to do against Heroes? I know where my choice is, but I can’t speak for the thousand of "others" out there.
Namaste…

Hmm, Lost moving to Monday would be great for me, because it leaves the rest of the week open, and also would make it easier for me to do all the fantasy Lost stuff.
But…. when would Dancing with the Stars be on? Would they run that against Idol? Would they not have a Spring season?
Hmm…

Doc, It hasn’t happened to me in a while , but back in May when I found this site (during my desperate search for any and all thins LOST) for about a month, everytime i tried to post, it would say "you have posted to recently" or whatever and I had never posted anything. It causes me to type things out twice quite often. If you type a paragraph or 2 about some theory, it sucks trying to remember exactly what you typed. So since then, I always highlight and Ctrl + C just in case so i can paste it again if it didn’t take. And thanks for the great site!.

They will not put Lost up against Heroes. That wouldn’t due either network any good. They are basically the same demographic. Anyway Heroes is on Monday at 9pm and if they go with the Monday time slot it will most likely be at 8pm. Does it really matter what night it’s on? If you don’t have a DVR you can always watch it on the internet. I actually prefer to watch it the next day because watching Lost with comercials just doesn’t work. It breaks up the ambience and flow of the episode.

Yeah Doc, It’s actually the reason I still read but never post as well. More than not it tells me "You’ve posted too recently" or something like that and I lose what I’ve typed out even though I have not posted in days/weeks and i am NOT one of those person who hits the "Post" button a dozen times if the page doesn’t load in the first half second.
I didn’t say anything because I figured you were getting a lot of complaints.

Same has been happening for me Doc as well
Also the Remember personal info tick box never remembers my info either

Ew. Nothing about this news/speculation makes me happy. I confess I’m really enjoying the lighthearted fun of Chuck. Wouldn’t like to see LOST vs. Chuck in the lineup. Now a LOST vs. Heroes would be interesting (although I agree, that won’t happen) especially in light of Heroes’ recent slump.
Speaking of which, is it bad that I feel bouts of glee when I hear Heroes, the so-called Lost Slayer, “the show that Lost should have been” (yeah right), slandered in the media?
Hehe, I’m giggling right now.
No wait, this is a bad news post. Bad, bad wildcard.

Not to pile on, but I agree with the complaints about the comment system. I’ve only been able to post successfully once before. Pretty frustrating.

Using the back key on my browser has always worked. That’s how I’ve made most of my posts without having to retype them for the past six months.

ugh…. i hated ‘life’. i wanted to gauge my eyes out as i watched the pilot.
while it sucks that lost won’t be on wenesdays at 9 (and move private practice out of the way to make the best 3 show, 1 network night in the week), i love dirty sexy money, so i’m happy that it will be staying (well… it’s hopes look good).
i don’t see why they would put it on monday with alot of compition when tuesdays is an almost compitionless night, and just put it on at 8 instead of cavemen and carpoolers

I’ve had problems posting as well. I think I even emailed you about once. If you keep the comment brief, it doesn’t seem to happen. It also does not remember my info. Thanks for the great site though. I still try to post whenever possible.

what’s the right kind of viewer a HORNY Viewer?
hey, maybe just maybe they can start broadcasting softcore Porn in LOST’s place
called HORNY, a bunch of really sexy rich women sail to a mysterious island to F*ck the F*ck out of each other
Comment by Ron — October 29, 2007 @ 8:59 pm
Private Practice is just like grey’s anatomy they are bath pretty much the same show
what little of the either I have watched says that.
DSM why not just broadcast XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX instead of DSM hell they would probably get the whole world to tune in hell abc really needs to get with the F*CKIN PROGRAM
Comment by Ron — October 29, 2007 @ 9:03 pm
I just hope a lost move to that timeslot will not equal death to prison break which in my opinion is the best drama on right now and I watch plenty of em. Just amazes me how the writers have been able to push that plot beyond one season, sure it’s silly but damn it’s entertaining! Thank God for DVR!

Hmmm dont want it moving to mondays as mondays is already crammed enough.

They’d prefer to keep Dirty Sexy Money rather than LOST? Dude. Are they kidding us? LOST is a much better show. I don’t mind LOST moving to Mondays, but seriously?
Comment by LadySolitaire — October 30, 2007 @ 2:08 pm
Mondays would be great for me, a nice free day mostly, that would be awesome, that way it wouldn’t interfere with American Idol. Hope it moves to Mondays. I’m crossing my fingers
Comment by Colby — October 30, 2007 @ 2:28 pm
I say they cancel Caveman and Carpoolers and air LOST on tuesday’s. Before dancing with the stars, but then would that conflict with American Idol?
