Lost Easter Eggs - Half Life
Thanks to Richard for sending this along. Apparently there are a couple of Lost references in Half Life 2 Episode 2. This dharma logo is one, and apparently the numbers can be seen on a computer terminal.
Thanks to This Site for being the source of the madness.

My pleasure, Doc!
The symbol in the center of the Dharma Logo is actually the symbol for a base called ‘White Forest’ in the game, which is where the ‘good guys’ house their research facilities and missile silos.
The entire game, if you’re not familiar with it, deals with the consequences of humans breaching the barriers between dimensions, which eventually causes an invasion of an alien race and the subjugation of mankind. The White Forest facility is one of the last refuges for mankind and their scientists.
The game also features commentary tracks as an option, and in the commentary it is said that the creators of Half-Life noticed many references to their game in Lost Season 1 and Gabe Newell, the lead designer of the game, was contacted by J.J.Abrams about a Lost reference in the coming Half-Life 2.

Half-Life references in Lost S1? Wow, what did I miss?
Is this stuff listed anywhere?

Richard,
In one of the later Sayid episodes of season 1, there’s a flashback with him in a room with numerous others, and they’re sitting around playing Half-Life on the TV.

It’s in the episode "The Greater Good."

Another Half-Life reference in S1… in the episode ‘White Rabbit’, Jack’s dad appears mysteriously wearing a suit and holding a briefcase. This bears a striking similarity to the appearances of the G-man in Half-Life!
The first time I saw that episode, Half-Life was the first thing I thought of. Definitely some kind of homage by the producers.

Just had another look at the episode… Christian wasn’t holding a briefcase, but he still does look like the G-man.

Ah, totally forgot about that Shawn. I was thinking more along the lines of in-dialog reference or conceptual allusion. Sometimes it’s totally easy to miss the literal.

Half Life 2? Does that make a whole life?

euugh, while the 2 logos look similar, the dharma logo has "dharma" in the middle and the White Forrest’s logo is 3 triangles positioned to form a leaf. Although the lost ‘numbers’ can be found ingame on several computer screens, and is also written on walls and computers in the game Portal too!

Wez, the logo is clearly from Lost. Look at the broken vs. solid lines in the borders. The middle piece is a play on the Lost hatches, with this one representing the White Forest base (the triangles are trees). And the numbers appear on only one screen in Episode 2, and none in Portal.

If you play the directors commentary in Half Life Episode 2, one of the node’s talks about the Lost creators and Half Life creators meeting and talking about each others work, and how there are HL references in Lost. (Must be about the G-Man look alike, and playing it on the TV).
The numbers can only be found on a computer screen directly to the left of that logo. The hatch style logo was made with the White Forrest logo inside it.
This is not my opinion, this is from the mouth of a game designer from a commentary section of HL2:EP2.

Just watched 4×11 - there’s a scene at a hospital in 60’s when Robert (the mysterious Other who doesn’t age) looks at young Locke through a window. That’s G-man as he is. He’s out of place, he’s in a blue suit, he’s watching through the window for a short time and leaves and he has a striking resemblance with the HL2’s G-man. God, I love such easter eggs!

At the season 4 finale, you can see Ben holding a crowbar while at the Orchid station.

@ A.Tepina
That’s not a real reference, people hold crowbars in lots of movies and series. Should it be some kind of half-life suit, THAT’d be a reference.
