Ausiello Breaks a Huge Lost Spoiler Scoop!
Fans have been wondering about this, and now it is confirmed. Cynthia Watros will be returning to Lost in season 4 and will be appearing in more than one episode. This info comes directly from Carlton Cuse and was broken exclusively by TV Guide’s Michael Ausiello this morning.
Ausiello quotes Carlton saying that Watros will appear in multiple episodes, and significant portions of her story will be revealed.
I’ve made my own wager for what that story might be, to check it out read: The Libby Factor.

not terribly surprising, nice to have confirmation though.
I’m glad they specifically noted ‘multiple episodes’
…so that’s gotta mean multiple flashbacks, which means it’d almost have to be the flashbacks of new characters. They COULD try and throw her into the flashbacks of pre-existing losties like hurley’s flashback but too many of those instances and it’d come off as just lame.
so I’m excited to hear about which character’s flashback she’ll be in

I’d be much more interested if she appears in future flash-forwards.

Could well be flash-forwards, Johnny, I have a feeling there’ll be multiple realities.

Liam, the picture you speak of is also on the spoilers section of darkUFO’s website along with a few others. Worth a look if you have the time

Yes Yes Success! -I am with Johnny Dangeriously! -I really would be happy and delighted to see her in a flashforward as well…then the possibility of her being Mrs. Hawkinga would be closer to unraveling!

Nope, your theory is too convoluted. Sadly, LOST has probably managed to jump the shark in the same way that X-FILES did. There are just too many holes in the plot. For example:
Why would anyone place a jamming station underwater? It would not work well at all to jam signals generated on the island. A broad-band jammer jams large sections of the electromagnetic spectrum and prevents signals from being transmitted or received. But a board-band jammer requires lots of power and is itself easy to detect. If you don’t want the US, UK, Russian or even a 2nd rate navy or air force to find you, don’t turn on a powerful jammer. That would just draw their attention like moths to a flame.
Hurley’s buddy in the institution obviously heard the signal. That’s how he got the numbers that are part of the LOST mythos. So the jammer wasn’t very good to begin with. Ignoring the obvious question of why they would need a jammer in the first place. According to Ben not even God could see the island. And no, it could not have been to block Danielle’s transmission. Ben knew exactly where the transmitter tower was located. He could have just sent someone to turn off the signal or destroy the station. No need to jam it.
And as we now know that Ben and his buddies are responsible for the death of 41 Dharma project members, you might think such an important project might be wondering what’s up on their island? Obviously Ben and his buddies took over. If I was the Dharma leadership I might be just a bit hacked off. But obviously Ben’s buddies have managed to go back to the states and recruit Juliet and presumably others. How could they do that without Dharma approval? Let’s assume that the extreme security measures and background checks used in Juliet’s case where also used for the other 41 dead Dharma folks. How did Ben’s buddies manage to elude such a comprehensive system? To say they cut a deal means you forget that Dharma scientists were supposed to be the best and brightest minds that showed the greatest promise of solving Mr. V’s equation. To suddenly turn over the whole shebang to a janitor’s son and his buddies just doesn’t fly when, supposedly, the fate of the world is at stake.
As for Libby/Brother Campbell/Ms Hawkings managing somehow to get Desmond on the island your theory is, sorry to say, ridiculous for so many reasons:
1.Why would Libby/Brother Campbell/Ms Hawkings go to all that trouble when they could do what you propose in your theory themselves, or get someone else who might be willing to do it?
2.Even with the best laid plans there was no guarantee Desmond or anyone on flight 815 would arrive on the island safely. In fact, if all these folks are so important why risk anyone in a plane crash?
3.Why risk anyone as an observer? The island is wired with bunkers, cameras and “smokey”? Libby the spy? Please. Why risk the chance she might be discovered?
I could go on, but why bother. The creators are probably working toward some time-shifting, 11th dimension, matrix type paradox climax where everyone is caught in a time loop that will end like the Soprano’s (and no, it didn’t end on a stroke of genius). I fear we will arrive at the end only to find Fox and Scully wondering if its safe to go home. Please….

Well Brian and Phyllis from Ohio, didnt really care too much for your somewhat superior tone, so im going to just go ahead and poke some holes in your pretentious complaints…
Leonard from the mental institution heard the numbers far before Ben was in control of the Others (and controlling whether or not they jam signals), so lets put that little complaint to rest right now…and the Tower, yes, they could have destroyed it, or turned it off entirely, but Mikhail seemed to need access to the outside to gather all the data on the Losties, so i dont think they would have wanted to cut him off from doing that, or any other data mining our nine-lived Russian friend was doing…
And of course Dharma’s looking for them…why do u think Ben was saying there are dangerous ppl looking for the Island, and that he was so uber pissed at Jack for making the call to the freighter…he’s probably thinkin it might be Dharma, and Jack is going to lead them right to the Island to take their revenge…
And Ben’s ‘buddies’, which I’m going to assume refers to Richard Alpert and the Hostiles, aka the other Others, were obv there before the Dharma folk, and Ben and papa, ever arrived….so there’s no harsh background checks and such b/c Dharma didnt know they were there…and its not like Dharma chose for a janitor’s son to take over their project…he took it over by force, which ties in to my above-mentioned point about how Dharma is looking to get back to the Island, possibly via Minkowski and the freighter, and Ben is fearful b/c hes about to get his come-uppins for the Purge…
Now in terms of the Ms Hawking/Brother Campbell/Libby directing Des to the Island…can’t say I’m in too much disagreement here about that, cuz im just not a huge fan of the whole time travel/different dimensions theme that Darlton started to lead us down last yr…but, in terms of Libby being Dharma, i’d say we’re almost assured of that being a reality…as it would be about the only way to explain her weird connections with Hurley, Des, etc…
All in all, pretty craptacular theories there Brian and Phyllis, leads me to think you either don’t watch the show with too much depth, or with only one eye open…take a sec and think things thru before you start posting in such a pompous tone next time…if you wouldnt mind

I agree…if you look up the definition for brahman dharma you learn that dharma has a macro and micro cosmic order to the universe..(Check out a fav book of mine: Indian philosophy: a very short introduction bu Sue Hamilton).it also states that a breakdown in dharma (adharma) will result in dharma fixing itself to restore order! if you look at the Island as a microcosmic dharma or slva dharma, then if there is a breakdown (such as the obvious communications breakdown) then Macro dharma must come to intervien to ‘restore’ order or perpose…once again a parody it subatomic particuls with in particles and paradice lost….this is a story about survival and the right to live agianst the probability of two forces: Macro and Micro self destruction. It looks as though Ben was really trying prevent something huge and most likely a form of absolute choas from happening…
