Who Wants to Go to Hawaii With Me?
Well, not literally, but here is the deal. I’ve been invited to the Lost set in November, and I’m short the cash to go. Naturally, this means fundraising time. So I’m looking for ideas, pledges, anything you guys can think of that might help me to raise the dough and be, to my knowledge, one of the first independent Lost bloggers to step foot on the Lost set. (Naturally, I will be signing a NDA, I would imagine, so NO SPOILER REQUESTS!).
One idea I am thinking of here is a raffle. Ten winners will be chosen. Those winners will send me a head shot, which I will print life size and attach to a stick. I cannot guarantee live set shots, because that depends on what the producers will accept, BUT I will attempt to get your head on a stick photographed with either a willing LOST actor, or at a famous LOST location. Right now I am just trying to gauge interest on a contest like this and get any other ideas you might think of.
It is very unlikely that I would be able to do anything like get autographs for folks, or anything like that.

Hey, Jon!
I’m actually going to Hawaii next october… And who knows if I can also get to a Lost set?
Anyway, have a nice trip! I’ll be posting on my blog directly from HI… Wish me luck as well, heh…
Namaste!

lmao my head on a stick next to Damon Lindelof would be priceless. I would probably pay $2 for the chance to have that.

Just A Thought In His Interview Terry At The Emmys Said They Might Have Cur His Legs Off In His Answer To If He Thought It Was Him In The Coffin. Now Imagine This Ben looses his power as number 1 with the others and in turn sets a trap for john that would chop his legs off leaving him unable to heal and leaving ben to take over the number one spot again.. Remember Ben is upset that john healed and he did not, it would be a great brutal scene for a great show whats you thoughts e-amil me or just post. ooooooooooo

In July Daniel Dae Kim posed for a photo with my friend here in Vancouver.
He was here for acouple weeks and was really kind… he definitely didn’t mind posing for shots.

OMG! I am so in. Hopefully I’m gonna be in Hawaii on spring break, but if that doesn’t push through, a pic of my headshot on a stick with Foxie or Evie or Jorge - heck, everyone - would be fantastic.

start a PayPal donations page, with proceeds going toward the HI trip.

I was just on Oahu at Turtle Bay Sept 13th &14th, and you are allowed on the set and can take pics during preproduction setup. Filming day we were allowed briefly on set as the actors arrived if you show up at 6am. We were at Turtle Bay Resort on the 14th when Evangeline Lilly was standing in front of us at the registration desk. I asked if that was her and her friend/coworker with her said, "Yes it is" and then Evangeline said, "No, but I get that a lot" and ignored us. I never expected her to be so unfriendly!

Wow, Nat…sadly, that story about Evi doesn’t really surprise me at all as I know she really seems to hate her celebrity status and probably only puts on a nice face when she feels she has to. I saw a picture of her sitting rather mournfully on the beach alone not too long ago…I think she really resents having to stay there without Dom. Sorry she was such a drag to meet, let’s hope the other actors aren’t quite like that! Thanks for sharing your story,
Chelsy

Alright Doc and all, here is my thought/idea. Feel free to comment one way or the other.
You hold a simple Raffle:
Step 1) Sell raffle tickets at 1, 2, maybe even 5 dollars a pop. All purchasers get their name put in to a hat.
Step 2) You go to Hawaii and get as many interesting signatures and such as possible.
Step 3) Upon returning home, you pull names from a hat and winners get the autographs and such.
Under this system, people are essentially donating money to you, however they also get chances at some priceless fan gems.
Further, you could do different levels of raffle with a slight variation.
Step 1) Sell seperate $1, $2, AND $4 tickets. The tickets sold go into seperate hats depending on price.
Step 2) You go to Hawaii and get as many interesting signatures and such as possible.
Step 3) Upon returning home, you divide autographs and such into sized or valued piles and draw from each hat accordingly.
Ex. Say you get 11 signatures/artifacts. You divide them into three different piles.
You draw from the $1 tickets and the winner gets 1 autograph.
You draw from the $2 tickets and the winner gets 3 autographs.
You draw from the $4 tickets and the winner gets 7 autographs.
There are lots of variations of price and prize that you can do, but I thought this might be interesting and entertaining for all the readers. Let me put it this way: I sure as hell would cough up four bucks for a shot at winning a few autographs. If I win, amazing, If not, no big deal because I spend more money on Mt. Dew every day than that!
(P.S. If you’re concerned about this at all, I assure you it is 100% legal to auction/raffle off CHANCES at prizes instead of prizes that are established ahead of time.)
