Lost Rumor Round Up
Are these spoilers? You tell me! In the interest of keeping TheTailsection ‘ruiner’ free, I’ve weeded through some of the cool rumors circulating around and thought I’d give you my take and solicit yours.
1. Lost Premiering February 4th at 8pm
My instinct: Absolutely true. People are railing against this for various reasons, but i believe it would be the smartest place to put Lost. Furthermore, Lost, Heroes, and Journeyman would be a killer ticket. Monday is back, baby.
2. Lost Premiere Multi-Character Centric
Again, I have to go with true. Multi-character would make sense simply because I suspect it will be a flash forward, and I expect all flash forwards to be multi-character. At Comic Con, if memory serves me right, Lindelof said something like the flash forwards would tell a chunk of the story. Unlike flashbacks, which are loosely connected if at all, flash forwards would have to be overlapping to some degree to be telling a larger "chunk" of story.
3. Boat People From the Sky
There were rumors last year about "people from the sky." Could this jive up? If it is true, the first group of "not pennys boat" people may arrive via air drop.
That’s it for now. Tune in tomorrow for the return of everybody’s favorite: Doc’s campfire Lost Stories. AKA, my crazy theory overdue from last week.

My thoughts: true, true, and true. I love the idea of 8/7C Monday night. That means there’s always time to re-watch the ep. a second time on my DVR! Also, Mondays are traditionally bad days for me at work, so it will give me something to look forward to.
About people coming from the sky… that would mean Naomi had been seriously misleading the surivivors. We have heard over and over again that "whatever" or "whoever" is coming to the island will be much worse than the Others were. Could it be that whoever is dropping onto the island will hold the survivors "hostage" in a sense? Forcing them to go along with whatever their true motives are for infiltrating the island if they want to be rescued? I predict they will initially claim to be there for a good purpose and to help/save the survivors, but their true motives will be revealed by mid-season. Perhaps they only take off the island (if that is, indeed, the way it goes down) because that’s the only way the "Not Penny’s Boat" people will LET it be. Either come with us, or stay here and die with the rest of your friends. It’s a quick decision born out of desperation. Anyway, I wouldn’t trust whatever agenda the NPB folks present in the first few eps…
God, waiting for February is killing me!!!

I really hope Lost is not on at 8pm on Monday. Chuck is on at the same time. I don’t own a DVR and I was really looking forward to cutting out Prison Break (because it sucks with out Dr. Sara) and adding in Chuck. Now i might have to remain 8pm-Monday-TV show less until Feb.

Oops, I’ve been edited and I think I know why… my bad, Doc.
Just for the sake of flow (and because I can’t go back and edit my own post), that should read, "Perhaps they only take anyone off the island (if that is, indeed, the way it goes down) because that’s the only way the ‘Not Penny’s Boat’ people will LET it be."

I don’t mind LOST on Mondays. It’s the worst day of the week anyway, so why not make it the best by moving LOST to Mondays? Then I can watch Private Practice on Wednesdays. It’s great for TV scheduling, really.
I don’t mind a multi-centric premiere too. Change is good, and it will break the routine that season premieres are always Jack-centric.
I don’t discount that the "Not Penny’s Boat" people or the freighter people may arrive from the sky. Who knows? That would be interesting.

I think Mondays at 8pm would be fine. However, I hope this doesn’t effect the dark nature of the show as of late. Some of the things they have done lately would be harder to get by at this earlier hour. I will miss LOST being on Wednesday though. It’s the perfect hump day programming. Monday already has a few top shows. 24 will be coming back as well shortly before LOST returns. This is gonna create a crowded Monday with no less than 5 shows I might actually want to watch. My Tivo is gonna catch on fire.

The First one seems to be true. I agree that this would most benefit LOST…even though the 7/8pm slot hopefully will not change how the story is told. Then again, there will be a reworking of all the line ups for mid season, but something tells me this is the safest spot for LOST.
The Flashforwards would have to be overlapping as everyone knows each other now and is dealing with the aftermath of leaving the Island. I can see how Hurley and his numbers could be a big factor this next season in getting them back to the island (What if Hurley was the one that put the numbers in the transmission tower that started the number mess)
I am now starting to think it’s not a boat either. I was reading the Lost magazine and there was a Q&A with TPTB and the last line of that was CC saying "who says there even is a boat (wink wink)".

I tells ya, the first thing we will se is someone running frantically through the jungle (probably Desmond), and everything will be shaking and whoever will come upon the Black Rock. Water and Wind will be tremendous at his point, and right before the character runs into the Black Rock for cover, things will really pick up, and then the character will tie himself to the nearest tree, and we will see the Black Rock for a few seconds… And then BOOM! A huge wave of water will come from off screen, and then suddenly, a Freighter comes crashes down onto the Black Rock. So yes, the “not penny boaters” will be coming from the sky, riding a tsunami.

Newest set photos show Ken Leung’s character arriving by parachute.

i don’t like that it’s on monday nights. LOST totally owned wednesday nights… there weren’t any other good shows so it succeeded tremendously. monday night is so jam packed with other good shows that i’m afraid that LOST will suffer. bummer.

If Mondays at 8PM is true, why haven’t we seen an official announcement from ABC about it? Sorry, I still think (and hope) this is a rumor. Why would ABC assume that 3 new shows will have more viewer appeal than Lost especially up against the CBS dramas and “Idol” (in January). You may be right, but I’m not buying into just yet.

Maria, nothing’s set in stone yet. Doc has said so himself. It’s just a rumour.
Personally, any week night is cool with me.

I thought LOST could not be shown before 9 or 10pm cause of TV14 or TVMA-story content?

Hey Doc, when you going to post this?

The people from the sky clue was Naomi. I don’t think there will be more "people from the sky" this season. They’ll be coming from the boat, though maybe they’ll fly to the island.

Really hope first one isnt true as Mondays are already great with Heroes PB and 24 when returns and Lost breaks up the week and dont really like the idea of Losts on a monday. Really unsure about other 2.
Comment by steve — September 21, 2007 @ 3:35 pm
Also dont like the idea of 1 day being too crowed with great tv shows and if lost does that mondays will come in danger of being overcrowed IMHO.
