Does Lost Have a Time Slot?
You may or may not consider this a spoiler, so I’m stuffing it in the spoiler category just to be safe. The fact is, it is more of a rumor. However, it is a well substantiated one.
The rumor goes like this: ABC has nearly settled on Monday at 8pm est for a time slot. Personally, I think this is a stroke of genius. A friend of mine in Australia was telling me that when Lost and Heroes went back to back over there both shows benefited.
Of course, the rumor is not such good news for Prison Break which would surely be pounded into a lower share bracket and probably wind up forced off the air. I may be blowing it out of proportion, but we’ll see.
Unfortunately, I have no way of knowing for sure if the rumor is 100% true. Even if it is true, the info came with the disclaimer that ABC had not yet set the time in stone. So, in case I haven’t used the word rumor enough, it is just a rumor and shouldn’t be viewed or discussed as anything other than that.
I’d actualyl be really happy with that! They’d get the family audience back watching again! 10pm is WAY too late!

sucks for me being a prison break fan, but Lost is way more important! but yeah, ratings will go wayyyyyy up for Lost at a timeslot like that. monday nights will be golden for geeks

I guess it would be better than many other slots. that being said, how would this effect the content of the show? will there be less violence and blood? cuz we all know, the more explosions the better.

Lost on Monday? At 8pm? Bad move. Monday has too much going on as it is. Chuck at that time. Heroes and 24 on at 9pm. Move it to Tuesday at 8 or 9 pm.

As a Prison Break fan, I hate this thought. I also don’t like the 8PM slot - leave it at 9PM. Why are they running from Weds? Just because of Idol? If they are so afraid of it, thwn why not air the 16 episodes in the Fall instead of the Spring.
Come on, leave it on Weds and deal with Idol. Honestly, I can’t see Lost picking up many new viewers, regardless of what time it is on. And Idol will eventually wear out its welcome.

Why can’t it just stay on Wednesday??? I liked it where it was and I liked it at 10 pm est because I live in the central time zone so it was on at 9 pm for me which was perfect. If this rumor is true it will be on at 7pm where I live and that is too early. Plus, there’s too much else going on on Monday nights. I’m sick of them trying to get around American Idol. Just deal with American Idol and leave LOST on Wednesday nights!!!!!!

I think the tuesday @ 8 or 9 would be awesome nothing is never on on tuesday, that being said I wish Smallville would then be on on Wednesday so I don’t have to tape either that or Earl & the office

I could see Mondays at 8 working. And I’m not worried about the sex or violence going away. It wasn’t like the first season - which also aired at eight - was devoid of sex or violence. I mean, Shannon and Boone’s pre-flight sex? Charlie murdering Ethan? If nothing else, I have faith that Darlton won’t sacrifice story under pressure to make the show less violence/sex-having.

Since LOST doesn’t come on until February, we really should take this with a grain of salt. A lot depends on what makes it and what doesn’t. Wednesday nights on ABC are looking like they could really gain that night back again. I don’t think that all of the shows will make it as one is a sopy serialized drama and another is a medical spin off. Who knows it might still get back worked into Wed nights if they needed to. Of course I have no issue with Lost and Heroes being Back to Back.
Though I do wonder how it might effect the show creatively if it’s on earlier. I do recall thinking when it first came on that it seemed a bit violent for 8pm.

Im dont know if the same applies in the Uk, but lost could be on anytime in the week for me even though i work continental shifts. Make time i say !!, as for ratings i think a 9pm start on either Mon, Tues or Wed would be ideal.
Can anyone tell me when lost is set to air in the US?

I don’ t understand what is wrong with Wednesday at 8 Est. who cares about American Idol if America would wake up and smell the coffee they would realize no one cares about a bunch of singers and tune into something that makes you think and shocks you weekly. Besides if it is Monday i will get my dose of TV in one day LOST heroes 24 i don’t want 3 shows in 1 day i need a mid week fix!!! DANG U ABC MAKE IT WEDNESDAY

I think that would be a bad move.. putting it up against Heroes and 24? I think they should stick with Wednesdays. Seems like anytime a show starts getting moved around.. some viewers bail. I’ve been reading that some of the luster of American Idol is wearing off anyway.

WOW… I really don’t understand peoples response to a rumored time change. First, Heroes and 24 are not on at 8pm ( 8pm pst and 8pm est, lol). Second, the first season of Lost was on at 8 and is still widely considered to be the best season. Third, Prison Break is on at 8 and does not suffer from lack of violence or sex. The one thing we can count on is Damon and Carlton are good writers and have integrity and with fewer episodes I expect the story line to be much more intense. According to Jorge (Hurley) the cast is very excited about this season saying it possibly is better then the first season. Honestly, does it really matter when Lost is aired. ABC probably considers the show a winner no matter what day or time they air it. Everybody needs to relax. You will watch it anyway right?

For a guy who gets up at 4:45 every morning, 8pm est is the perfect time for me! Last year was a struggle to stay up to watch my favorite show. Half the time I let Tivo record it and I’d watch it when I got home from work the next day. Given a choice of Lost or Heroes, I’ll take Lost every time!

8pm ANY night of the week sounds awesome. Even 9 pm is good, but this 10pm stuff is crazy-stupid. It is way too late. I do have TIVO, I do record it, and then watch it the next night. But, there is someone else at work that can stay up to watch. I always tell her not to say anything till I watch it. Personally, it would be much more fun to watch it on its airing night and get to talk about it the next day. But, that is my opinion, and we all have our reasons for different time slots.
Still, I will be hoping for the earlier time.

OH wow, i hope this happens! I agree, i’m up at 10 of course, but I have a ton of homework to do and I can never focus if i’m thinking about the next episode of lost! this would give me some recovery time after i see the episode!
