you’d prove yourself a worthy fan if you make that trip simply to get a dvd-set.
can’t really remember when a dvd-set from the usa EVER !! came out first in region 2, before it did in the usa itself. i am, however, one of the lucky ‘region 2′-people and will get it as soon as it hits the stores…
’bout the egg titles; guess they are gonna be like those on s02-dvd: simple set goofs with the actors and crew (not very spectacular but worth the search for those who care). so the titles obviously may look strange but it’ll become clear very soon…

Uh, yeah Doc…Kate in Handcuffs…sooooooo many possibilities…
Comment by gusteaux — September 5, 2007 @ 5:40 pm
The DVD may be region coded, but the PS3 isn’t region coded, so if they get the Blu-Ray version it will play just fine
Comment by DerangedBlue — September 5, 2007 @ 7:07 pm
I’ll wait for the US version and import it to the UK as the UK version is more than twice the price of the US one. Typical UK consumer getting ripped off as usual!!

Breakfast with Sawyer? Heck, if I had my way, he and Jack are my breakfasts!
December 11th is THREE months away… It’s soooo long.

Shaved Ice I’m guessing is actually "Shave Ice". Check out Mitsumoto’s in Haleiwa on the the north shore of Oahu. Go with Ice Cream and Beans.
Comment by lowinsodium — September 5, 2007 @ 9:02 pm
sucks about the region coding, and that the uk is getting it first…no offense, but wtf, seriously, why?
Maybe i’ll get my relatives over there to ship me a set…and a Brit dvd player LOL
Comment by RedStarRevolution — September 5, 2007 @ 11:35 pm
Hey, we may get it early but it costs about £50 ($100) for us.
Does anybody know when the blu-ray edition is going to come out in the UK, and *shudders* the price for it?

I am so tired of being jerked around by this show, its getting exhausting. i love it so much and really like being able to own the DVD’s. But after being jerked around with time slots, waiting months on end for new shows… fine i will deal with all that. But its another nice slap in the face to American fans to have to wait months after the rest of the world to get DVDs especially when its an American show… Im starting to think they do things like this just to piss of fans and get them talking.

As a UK fan I’m actually really annoyed we’re getting the DVD over here first. My season 1 & 2 boxsets are both from the States so I’ve got my season 3 ordered already. The UK boxsets are so oversized and lame. Instead of a foldout each disc is in one of those annoying mini dvd cases, and don’t even get me started on how much of rip of the prices are. Roll on december, I want a nice looking DVD set.

I don’t think it’s so much whether the UK or Australia or the US gets it first, but a question of how long since the season ended. I live in Missouri (US) and the season ended on or about May 23rd. I know that for the UK it was about 4-6 weeks later and about another 4 weeks after that for New Zealand and Australia, yet the UK gets the DVDs then Australia, and lastly the US. Just seems like a long time and we have the biggest gap between the season ending and the DVD release. I guess I just really want to watch season 3 again and not using my crappy DVR. And someone recorded over the cost of living, so I’ve only seen that once. Ok, I’ll shut up now.

hey jack…
lost is just as big in the UK as it is in the states and seen as we have to wait longer for the Seasons to get to our TV’s i think we maybe deserve to get the DVD first!! so stop whining.

Stu, I’m sorry you have to wait longer, but Jack is right. The show is filmed in america, so it should be released in america first.

Maybe the foam trees has something to do with prop making for the show. Most big props are made from some kind of foam product.
Check out this Swan Hatch logo for sale on ebay… it’s a sweet piece of memorabilia.

I actually may be going to the UK next month! But if it won’t play on my machine here, then it *really* won’t be worth 50 pounds. Can someone explain what region coding is?
Comment by Sillyrabbit — September 6, 2007 @ 9:26 am
1 euro = 1.3 dollars. so how does 50 euro = 100 dollars? anyway mine are on my dvr (HD) and except for skippimng the commercials it ain’t bad at all.
Comment by dug — September 6, 2007 @ 9:53 am
It’s pounds not euros. 1 USD = 0.49459 GBP do the math
Comment by Charlie Lesoine — September 6, 2007 @ 10:19 am
dug, just to correct you, yes the UK is part of the european union, but we are still one of the few exceptions (maybe the only exception)who still have their own currency and dont use the euro.(we still use GB sterling) and with the current exchange rate being roughly £1 = $2, shauns post is entirely correct.

I live in the UK. The Lost Season 3 finale was shown in America on the 23rd May. It was shown on Sky One in the UK the following Sunday. So to all the above posters fuming at the fact that the UK is getting the DVD first, claiming "we’ll have had to go the longest without it by the time it comes back on", realise that whilst you do win that arguement, you win it by four days, so it’s kind of a mute point.
Why shouldn’t we get it first? After all, we supply all your best characters! Charlie, Sayid, Eko, Desmond. Brits the lot of em.
We’re still waiting for Heroes Series One to end! We never got to see Grindhouse because you guys didn’t go and see it! The Sin City recut and extended DVD has yet to be released in this country! We can only buy Seasons 1 to 4 of South Parl on DVD for some unknown reason!
My point is that we Brits are always trailing behind when it comes to stuff like this.
I for one, am as happy as a pig in shiz.
Regardless, February is still a long way off.

I was noticing some people whining about how we have to wait for new shows and yada yada, typical pissed off fan, but before you lynch the people making this show, lets not forget what a GREAT show it is. Patience is a virtue, and good things will come to those who wait. well, just wanted to share my two cents, lost rules.

Lional has a point. Touché, sir!
