Flashback: Sayid

Our favorite concussion prone Iraqi gets his episode, although I am not sure if we learn more about Sayid or Rousseau. There are three concussions for Sayid in a short period of time. one while triangulating the signal, a second by being dropped from Rousseau’s trap, and a third when Rousseau clocked him with the stock of her rifle.

Most of the information that is given about Sayid we sort of knew from the previous episodes. Rousseau however comes out of nowhere and steals the episode.

On Island:
Sayid is looking at pictures of Nadia on the Beach when he finds a cable. the infamous cable. It is a steel cable wrapped in plastic. Sayid begins to follow the cable into the jungle.

Beach: Jack is looking after the ill tempered Sawyer who claims that Jack is just trying to ease his conscience. Sawyer could say thanks but instead provokes Jack further.

Kate is staring in the direction that Sayid left. Worried about him since he has been gone a week. She still is sore with Jack for allowing Sawyer to be tortured.

We do not discover either end of the cable. Sayid is captured while avoiding a trap and being snared by another one. He swings into a branch which pierces his leg.

At night, someone walks up on Sayid and cuts him down, knocking him out.

Caves: a man is being treated for stress induced hives. Jack tells him to keep his mind off of it. Hurley recognizes that every needs a release from the stress of just surviving.

A woman goes through a number of languages (French, English, Spanish, German) asking, "where is Alex." When he responds that he does not know what she is talking about he gets shocked by a crude torture device.

FlashBack:
In Irag, Sayid is beating Fallah for a bombing that was perpetrated by some Shiite faction. He is notified by his friend and commanding officer that he is put in for a transfer to intelligence for being such a good extractor of information. And we see her, Nadia.

Caves, Ethan and Locke bring back more bags from the forest. Hurley goes through the stuff for anything useful.

Walt sneaks up to Locke wanting to go with him, then Michael wakes up.

Hurley opens a bag and says, "dude."

Rousseau’s Shelter
She continues to torture him asking how he got here. He explains about the plane crash and the distress signal. She is surprised at 16 years. And then she knocks him out with the butt of the rifle.

We learn that her name is Rousseau. She questions Sayid about Nadia.

FlashBack:
Sayid enters to interrogate a woman named Noor Abed Jazeem. Instead he renews his acquaintance with a childhood friend, Nadia. Although, his job is to interrogate her. They reminisce about the old days, then the tone turns dark as Sayid assures Nadia that he will hurt her.

Shelter
Sayid was shot at some point. Rousseau sees the wound and asks more about Nadia. Sayid then asks about Alex.

Caves:
Walt is bored and Michael working on some drawings ignoring his kid.

Hurley takes some items and Michaels stick and heads out to Jacks curiosity.

Shelter:
Sayid confessed to leaving the other losties because he was ashamed for what he did. Nadia is probably dead because of him. This sparks a connection with Rousseau and she touches his face.

Caves: Michael shows the planes for a via duct from the caves to the beach. Charlie enters and tells them to come look.

Island Open: Hurley made a golf course to give everyone something to pass the time with. to relax. to have fun.

Shelter: Daniel shows Sayid a music box that her lover Robert gave to her. Sayid tells her he can fix it and she drugs him.

the Open: Michael and Jack facing each other in a tight shot. Jack gets ready to swing when Sullivan finds them. He starts complaining about his rash getting bigger when he realizes they are playing golf.

Shelter: Sayid awakes to being tied to a chair. He asks Danielle what her first name is. She straightens up and smiles as she says, "Danielle." It seems like this is the first time she has heard her name in a long while. She then begins to tell of the dreadful story of her journey. Hearing the numbers, crashing on the rocks, the sounds. When returning from the Black Rock her crew was infected. The "others" were carriers of something that infected them. She tells him about the whispers.

FlashBack:
Instead of torturing Nadia, he is protecting her and taking care of her the best he can. But she continues her incarceration because she is unwilling to give up the name of her conspirators.

Beach: Shannon is tanning. Boone is going to the tournament and tells Kate. Sawyer encounters Kate to which she tells him that he could make an effort.

Shelter: Sayid Fixes the music box and keeps the tools. Sayid asks to go back, but Danielle says its not safe. They hear a roar and Danielle grabs her rifle and heads out. Sayid thinks it might be the monster to which Danielle says, "there is no such thing as monsters."

FlashBack:
Sayid is told to execute Nadia.

Shelter: Sayid escapes the bonds of Danielle, gathers her maps and notes and takes her rifle.

Open: Kate walks up after one of Jacks shots. Hurley shows how horrible he is at golf. We see how Michael continue to ignore his son. He has an opportunity to include Walt in the tournament and bond with his son, but instead brushes him aside to make his shot.

Jungle: Sayid and Rousseau cross paths they hold their guns on each other.

FlashBack:
Sayid and Nadia are walking down the hall with guards. Sayid dismisses the guards and tells Nadia of the plan for her escape. The commanding office, Omar, walks in and Sayid kills him, then shoots himself in the leg to make it look like Nadia escaped on her own.

Jungle: Sayid is forced to fire at Danielle, only to hear it click. Danielle had removed the firing pin, when Robert, her lover, tried to kill her as well. He was sick. It tool them one after another. She had to kill them. What if they were rescued? She doesn’t want to let him now that she has someone.

"You’ll find me in the next life, if not in this one." These were the words that Nadia wrote. This is the hope that he will find her. And Danielle must let him go after she reveals that Alex is her child.

Open: Charlie almost makes a put. The crowd watches as Jack gets ready to make his put and Sawyer offers a bet against Jack.

Jungle: Locke is practicing throwing knives while Walt looks on. He wants to learn and Locke begins to teach.

Jungle at dusk: Sayid is making his way back to camp and he hears the whispers.
